Co-Op rewind bug

Archive: 16 posts

Ill try to keep it short.
we know that the co-op create can be buggy and crashy especially when the thermo is reaching the last 4 bars..
Especially rewinding can crash everyone who is in co-create their ps3's.
Now more than often this can be solved by kicking people/asking people to leave and just rewind patiently and waiting for the thermo-full warnings to dissapear.

Now It has come to my attention that when you rewind, objects that where selected/edited by people who level co-create prior to rewinding..
Will dissapear. (happens most when thermo is near full)
It happens random, sometimes rewinding and redoing will make the object appear again..
in other occasions.. it just dissapeared and is not so willing to come back.

So.. be carefull

Thanks to have spotted it Luos, and thanks for the precise information of what happens!
That means that it's best to save often!

My favorite is when you rewind, the screen goes black, and your XMB magically shows up. Yeah, my favorite... 2010-08-12 23:00:00

You have MM contacts, tell them to fix this !

I've never froze or had an XMB screen though...

I've only had:
-Long, 1-5 minute rewinds (that sometimes have someone in a frozen state afterwards, where they have to be killed or restart their controller to get out of it)
-Long, 1-5 minute rewinds that end with someone diverging
-Infinite rewinds where everyone diverges when the host leaves the level

Awwwwww.... why's it got my name tagged on it? Just because it happens to me ALL THE TIME and I hate it with a passion it gets my name on it..... *sigh* wish my name was cow.... at least that was a "cool" glitch.

Yea, this is the bane of my existence in create mode. Popping back to the XMB or frozen screen - both are rage inducing.... I speak in tongues when it happens. I've not seen anything disappear other than what wasn't saved when it happens though.

Well.. just because that is the only time I ever experience it!

Now I know why you suggested "Glitch Magnet" back in my "steriotypes" thread.

Doesnt only happen with rewinding, Ive had it happen while loading levels, if clay gets a big thermo heavy object out of his popit and even once when one of my friends joined online create.

But.. I rather go back to XMB than have to walk 3 steps to the ps3, reboot it (by turning it off/on manually as it doesnt respond to ps controller), walk back, wait a few seconds just to get a message I did not turn off the ps3 propperly.

Happened to me a lot of times :/

How come you know about almost every single glitch available, it is scary. If you ever get to be able to change the little message under your name, it should be glitch wizard

Nahh, thats aya's name.
He tells me about all sort of glitches,
and most people of lbpc will post a thread about any new glitches they find so I am just well informed.

I had never experienced this until last week. Since then it has happened again several times, even when I'm not rewinding. I think a recent update may have caused some kind of corruption that has increased the frequency of the bug.

Omg, I found another one..
sometimes.. for no reason..
I just does not save your level..
I ccant explain why or how, but I lost about 4 hours of work.. AGAIN.
And I save on a regular 5 minute interfall.

wth is up with that.

Do you exit to the pod regularly? Saving your level doesn't save to the hard drive, but only to the RAM (I think), so that when you return to pod, it saves to your hard drive. It cripples the creation process sometimes, and makes me sad. 2010-08-14 23:50:00

you have to wait till the sack boy icon is gone before you turn your PS3 off or bad things happen lol but seriously the sack boy icon appears when its saving or loading but if you back it up you should be fine i have 2 years of experience with lbp i know pretty much everything about problems with saving lol2010-08-15 00:17:00
