The Unforgivables

The Unforgivables have left a once beautiful and thriving town as a pile of ash, rust and destruction. Nothing is left behind except for empty tombs, holding the caged spirits of the dead.

Other then that, it's a pretty happy level.

So, I'm working on my first level. Something that seems to be a pretty daunting task. I'm hoping it to be a light platformer, based more around story and visual appeal. I plan for it to be in three parts, not because I expect it to be extremely long, but more because I feel, as the creator, that it would profit from being separated like that.

Pictures? Well, I only have the second area remotely presentable, out of a three area level. Oh, and I don't know how to take pictures. Well, I know how to, but how do I get them up on my computer?

Anyways, I'm hoping for the level to start out fairly simple. To be honest, right now it looks like a two year old made it, (Not knocking two-year olds, it's just very light, green, and happy. Also, it's so simple my brain that feeds off of intricacy wants to kill itself everytime it sees it. Yet again, not knocking simplicity, It's just not my thing) and then it progresses to what I feel is the LBP equivalent of Fallout 3. Finally, I'm hoping to achieve something... Bio-shocky for the final part of the level, and keep with that theme through the rest of the three game series. Not that I've ever played Bio-shock.

Anyways, pretty much I'm just putting this here if anyone wants to throw their ideas at me, for something they like seeing in games, or people who want to lavish me with testing when I get that far, or someone who wants to solve my picture problem. I'll turn it into a full deal project page once I get far enough to take pictures. Pictures I can be proud of.

Well, is the player one of the Unforgivables or an adventurer seeing what happened?

If an adventurer:

The player could hunt down each of the Unforgivables, God of War style. (Not that I've played God of War.)

You could use the spirits of the dead as platforms of the River Styx (river of souls and lost dreams, deadly to touch) in the underworld.....
You could fight the Ghost King.

3 Unforgivables, one per level. (Maybe one of light, one of darkness and the third is 'all that is inbetween.&apos

anyway.....


to get pictures on the computer:

take pic with the in game camera

make sure you have all of the lbp updates

press square on the pic, and 'export to HDD'

quit game, they will be in pictures.

move pictures to usb stick and then to computer, then to a site like flickr or photobucket, then put in the img code. or use the ps3 browser to put them on (not sure, never tried)


I think there's a thread for it in tutorials, but its 10 pm, I'm too tired to find it

Thanks much for the info on pictures!
The gist of the plot is already worked out mostly, I'm just working in fine details such as contraptions, challenges, and side-doohickies.

I can assure you that the player is not an Unforgivable, but to find out who is, you'll have to play the game!

(Eagerly runs off to create more of the level.)
