So I was reading some threads and saw that people were sharing their weird dreams, so here is my go. Yesterday I passed out at around 12:30 a.m. and started having a weird dream. Things just felt out of place ( which is weird for it being a dream ). I was walking up to this brick building and all I could see was some grass and a sidewalk, the sky was black and the horizon went on forever. Anyway I saw a figure standing in a doorway to the building and I started waving. He waved back, and even though he was not completely visible I could clearly see him say something. I responded with a devilish smile and screamed fortius ( apparently that means strength in latin ). The dark figure snickered and entered the building-I stopped in place-I looked to my left and saw a flagpole with no flags and there was a small group of women surrounding it. They spoke to me, but without speaking, it was weird. They were moving their lips, but there was no sound, and I could understand them. I can't recall what they said though. I continued walking and saw a bright light in the building. I told the women, I should go and began to run into the building. The ground fell out beneath me into nothing. I grabbed onto the ledge and pulled myself up with ease. The dark figure than stood within 4 inches from me, but I still couldn't see him. He told me, without speaking, to jump off the ledge. I refused and walked through him to the door of the building. I ran through the door and stopped in the hallway. It was my old school, but something was different.There was only ambient noise. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anyone, so I looked back and there was nothing outside the door. I looked forward down the hall and saw a girl who had a similar presence as the dark figure I had seen before. I screamed again, fortius. She walked into a classroom and opened the door behind her as if inviting me in, so I entered. I closed the door behind me and called out her name even though she didn't have one. She was there in front of me of me and I still couldn't see her. I touched her face and she was gone. I sat at one of the desks and waited until day. The windows were all suddenly opened and a blinding light filled the room. I felt a strong sense of falling and than I woke up. It was weird and vivid. Anyone know what it means, or if it means anything? And HOW DID I KNOW LATIN!?

And HOW DID I KNOW LATIN!? Did you ever read/watch Harry Potter? A lot of latin in use in that world. You might've picked it up by ozmosis? Who knows. I have weird dreams all the time too but I don't read too much into them. You could go mental doing that :/

Hrmm... That sounds pretty trippy. No real input on your dreamy adventure, but it reminds me of one I had when I was like, three. I walked down my second floor hall to where the stairs should be, but there was only a bottomless black pit, with a ladder propped up against the 2nd story landing, which I kicked away. And then I realized I was stuck, so I sat down in the middle of the hall, against the wall, and cried/moped. And then my parents walked past me, except they were giant ladybugs, and I followed them into my room, and was instantly teleported to a field of daisys (They looked like sunflowers though). Maybe our dreams are mystically related?

Yeah, I don't quite see it either... But, y'know, the weird buildings, and hallways, and people you should know, but you don't, and then pure evil emenating from the flowers... I'll just leave now.

I had a dream where I was dreaming and there was some dude or something and he robbed my house or something like that and then he killed my brother so I reloaded the dream thing (like a video game), saved before I did anything, and then escaped or something and then woke up in the dream and told my parents about it and then something happened and I woke up but IRL this time I was like lolwut? There is no psychology behind my dreams. Unless raining fish means something. Except on the occasions when I have those sexy dreams.

I have these dreams where I'm in my bedroom and something strange is happening, like there's a serial killer in the corner or something. I then wake up but don't notice the transition because I'm in the same place so everything in the prior dream I believe to have just happened. I'll then spend about 10 minutes running around the room, and sometimes the rest of the house, looking for a serial killer/poisonous snake/swarm of wasps or whatever I dreamt about before I realise "oh, it's this again".

I've been having really random dreams for the last few nights. Last night I dreamnt aliens were abducting random machinery and every night I had to stop them. Well yeah long story short, the leader gets killed because his/her queen ordered him/her to be killed. Then I'm just about to kill the queen and the I wake up cause my mum's yelling at me to get me up :l

You know what that sounds just like the sort of thing I dream about on a daily basis. My dreams are usually full of colour and never seem to have any reference to my daily life... except a couple days ago when I dreamt I was in a movie production and I saw JWWPHOTOS name across the whole thing

Recent addition to my dreams: So a night ago I went outside and looked up the hill to see some houses there, and instantly I knew I was dreaming. It was weird, because y'know, normally you don't know you're dreaming in a dream, and as I like to do once I've become aware of my dream, I started messing with stuff. I started flying through the air, and made my way to my friends house, but when I got there, she was a 9 year old, and then I suddenly became un-aware of the fact I was dreaming, as can occasionally happen in dreams, and was back at my house, walking down my driveway. Every step I took made a metal-against-asphalt scraping sound. I suppose the fact that I instantly knew it was a dream, was because then I woke up, into another dream. Maybe dreams within dreams, are always acknowledged as dreams?* I found myself at the bottom of my driveway, with shovels attached to my shoes, and realised I had been sleep walking, and had I not woken up then, I would have been killed by a car in my sleep.. I then woke up for real.** *My theory is thus: When you're dreaming, your subconscious projects images into itself for entertainment, and occasionally the conscious brain gets hold of these, and it's like every dream that you experience, even if you don't fully remember it later. The subconcious isn't creating a story of a reality, it's creating a new reality as it's story. There is no story in your mind, only the events that the mind created. But if you're dreaming of a dream, inside your dream, then it's your mind creating a story, inside of the story that is the new reality, thus you acknowledge the falsehood of the first layer, and the second layer becomes that much more real. And having realized all of this, Inception really has it down. **Or did I?

Your theory is sort of correct. The part about the conscious brain being able to intercept messages is correct. The subconscious mind part is mostly wrong though...sorry The mechanics of your dream are quiet similar to mine though...interesting.

Dreams are formed by your brain taking memories,thoughts, bits of your imagination and peicing them together. Everything you've ever heard,seen, experienced,thought, things you dont even remember that happened, are up for grabs when you have a dream. When you get to control your dream, things get weird because your tampering with a random pattern of thought. :/

My dreams are very odd... When I was 7 I had a dream that I got every single sweet I wanted in the world, then my whole family took everything and I didn't even get a piece... I woke up and started crying my eyes out even though it was just a dream! I've also had dreams of a ghost haunting me... It tried to kill me with a plastic cup, and it used to steal my stuff and throw it at me... Oh I also remember this dream.. It was the oddest dream ever, basically it started out with me in school in math. I then randomly walked out of the room and the rest of the class followed me.. Suddenly it turned into this apartment and everyone was still with me.. There were these people there asking us to go in and test something. We got in the room and it turned out the thing they wanted us to test was portal 2! I got mega excited and went and sat down and played the console... And I randomly became the character!!! I did this obstical then I shot a portal and came back into the apartment... Then I decided to follow my best friend out into the balcony and we started talking.. Then I jumped of the building.. I hit the floor but I didn't die.. Everything became fuzzy and I got dizzy then I woke up... Odd dream!!!

I love it when you realise you are dreaming and can start messing with stuff. I think that happen during REM. Who here has colourful dreams? OK OK I have no link to any form of drug cartel and have not been doing anything odd lately... Can someone please tell me why I had a full blown colour dream about a 20something Peruvian student that lived aboard a modern looking 18ft powerboat that had a machinegun mounted on the top... he took it down a muddy brown river where entering into restricted waters came under artillery fire from grenade launchers shooting various ammunition.. and for some reason 2kg parcels of heroin! collecting up a couple of these parcels we head back upriver without getting hit. Approaching a huge concave cliff in the canyon which was full of caves (kinda looked like the outside of the Colosseum inverted) we came across the boy's village where he was welcomed like a hero. Having collected the $$$ for the drugs.
