mouse and keyboard

i would like to see key board and mouse option so people can have short cuts, so for exmplae you can make S to change the size of the object, and you could make it so that the spiny thing on the mouse zoomed in and out, the point of this is to that you could quick select with out using a pop it, | 2008-10-18 11:49:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
I haven't thought of this actually! That's a great idea man! =D | 2008-10-18 13:01:00 Author: Stix489 Posts: 2080 |
That's what I've been thinking.. Also, it's a pain when you have to got into the popit to enter text when I'm sitting with my keyboad on my lap waiting impaitently. It would just be cool if you can enter text with a keyboard the way you can on Metal Gear Online. Quick and simple. | 2008-10-18 13:36:00 Author: TheArmedReaper Posts: 1543 |
I haven't thought of this actually! That's a great idea man! =D thanks, but i bet MM also thought of this but they probley thought that it mostly casual gamer who will play the game and they probley wont by a key borad and mouse for the ps3, all we need a mouse and key board support for edit mode so it makes use feel cooler lol | 2008-10-18 14:03:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |

Maybe it'll be compatible. We'll just have to wait and see... http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.phtml/17073/18097/sony-ps3-wireless-controller-keypad.phtml Now, for a mouse... | 2008-10-18 17:17:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |

Haha, as many hours as some people sit in Create mode, MM owes this to us | 2008-10-18 21:54:00 Author: RedPanda Posts: 191 |
this would help making levels for the not as skilled (ME!!) | 2008-10-18 22:32:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
I must be the ugly duckling here, but Create was crafted for a gamepad, not a keyboard. I wouldn't use a mouse/keyboard combo if they made that an option. If people want it though, then I don't have a problem with it being an option. | 2008-10-18 22:50:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

i will understand if people will perfer normal controls, for what ever reasons, but i think it would be quicker to select tools in stead of going through pop up, but you will still need pop up to select items that you made. any ideas for the short cut, cause i dont know what tools and items their are a- b- c- d- e- press once for erser, again for eclectrity f-fire g- h- i- j- k- l-Ice m-motor n- o- p-paint/colour u- r- s-switches t- v- w-Wires x- cancel y- z ps if i miss any leeter or place them in order tell me, any other ideas or better layouts | 2008-10-19 13:52:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
I wish they made a mouse/keyboard option with a slightly altered Popit menu. It just is that much more efficient. In the end, it's the hard core, PC-type users who are going to make the good levels. As some reviews pointed out, the Creator isn't as accessible as advertised even as it is. So no need to cater in for the casual gamers in that aspect. | 2008-10-19 14:43:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |
What about just hearting your favourite tools so they are on the front page of the Popit? That's what I did and it was much quicker to access them. Cheers QuozL | 2008-10-19 15:03:00 Author: QuozL Posts: 921 |
thanks, but i bet MM also thought of this but they probley thought that it mostly casual gamer who will play the game and they probley wont by a key borad and mouse for the ps3, It's a neat idea! It would be much easier and more fluid to for an example "draw" material with the mouse! And you don't have to buy a mouse and keyboard for the PS3, any USB keyboard / mouse would do | 2008-10-21 18:38:00 Author: TopAgent Posts: 16 |
true, but the thing is would people rather have this or work on dlc | 2008-10-21 18:43:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
when you edit text on LBP you have to use that goddawful text type pad thing (I'm too old to learn a new language, even my texts are in the Queens English). Isn't there even an option to use the normal onscreen keyboard? But yeah KB and mouse ecen for text input would please me. | 2008-10-21 20:43:00 Author: Piratepete Posts: 110 |
true, but the thing is would people rather have this or work on dlc dlc? i'm not sure what you mean, but i think my answer could possibly be "why not both?" | 2008-10-22 14:02:00 Author: TopAgent Posts: 16 |
DLC= Downloadable Content. Personally, I would prefer new MM levels to keyboard and mouse support, but that's because my own levels aren't great and aren't going to get any better using a mouse. Obviously, both would be preferable. | 2008-10-22 14:12:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
dlc? i'm not sure what you mean, but i think my answer could possibly be "why not both?" because mm might not have enough people to make both at the same time | 2008-10-22 14:45:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
because mm might not have enough people to make both at the same time I seee, but i do hope they'll make it some time =) | 2008-10-22 15:37:00 Author: TopAgent Posts: 16 |
I think this just confuses the game, the popit is easy enough to use. | 2008-10-22 15:47:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
I think this just confuses the game, the popit is easy enough to use. As i would like it, you don't have to use the keyboard and mouse, you could choose either way | 2008-10-22 15:53:00 Author: TopAgent Posts: 16 |
it will give us a photoshop feel when editing things, and i am use to photoshop and i press keys on the keyboard every time i in paint or sommot like that and it annoys me lol | 2008-10-22 16:31:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |

I use keyboard all the time for writing in LBP... It would be so great if it worked for making the level too | 2008-10-28 07:06:00 Author: Pinkcars Posts: 380 |
i would love a keyboard and mosue in editing... there would be alot esier controls... but unfortunitly i think they will stick with the ps3 controller... we just gotta get used to it... | 2008-10-29 02:49:00 Author: big93 Posts: 262 |
i dont mind using it but it would be way easyier and quicker to make levels | 2008-10-29 12:00:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
i would love a keyboard and mosue in editing... there would be alot esier controls... but unfortunitly i think they will stick with the ps3 controller... we just gotta get used to it... Plain and simple.. if they went mouse and keyboard, they would have/should have just made it for the PC then... Mouse/Keyboard is a bad idea in this case... It feels (IMO) like a PS3 game because that's not an option. | 2008-10-29 15:57:00 Author: DaSaintFan Posts: 136 |
true, i could not see a pc gamer playing lbp | 2008-10-29 17:01:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
true, i could not see a pc gamer playing lbp I'd think you'd me suprised at how many PC gamers might enjoy LBP, especially since creator functions like Gary's Mod Lite. As someone who dabbles in 3d modelling I wish when using the corner editor I could get a wirefram view of the object so I can actually see the verticies. With keyboard support I would hope that I could hotkey certain configurations to keys so that A stone block in the square shape only took one keypress | 2008-10-29 17:41:00 Author: LordDax Posts: 79 |
true, i could not see a pc gamer playing lbp I'm a PC gamer and the only reason i have a PS3 is for LBP | 2008-11-06 03:47:00 Author: Tommo120 Posts: 7 |
PROTIP: Insert your keyboard into your PS3. | 2008-11-06 11:49:00 Author: Homeo Posts: 8 |
There is no reason we shouldn't be able to use mouse and keyboard in the actual level-making process. It's so much easier to draw with a real mouse than it is with an analog stick, to the point of objectivity. Hotkeys to the different categories couldn't hurt either. | 2008-11-06 12:29:00 Author: Arcturian Posts: 18 |
