Spatial Unfairness

Spatial Unfairnessessteeyou
This is a level I created for my girlfriend's dissertation on gender roles in spatial awareness in a virtual environment. It's not an overly complicated level as it only has to fulfill certain requirements of her course.

I'm looking for people to play the level and then post their genders, scores, and how/where they died.
This is a level I created for my girlfriend's dissertation on gender roles in spatial awareness in a virtual environment. It's not an overly complicated level as it only has to fulfill certain requirements of her course.

I'm looking for you to play the level and then post your gender, score, and how/where you died (if you do).

So far I've only got a couple of people to do this on another forum, so I thought I'd come to somewhere with a more active community.

So if you search for "Spatial Unfairness" in the community section and give the level a go then post a comment under here saying how it went and things like that I would be very appreciative. Obviously this counts as your feedback for the F4F nature of this post. If you want my feedback on your level then please leave me information on how to find it either here, or in the game.

Thanks a lot for any help you can give.

I played your level and heres my feedback

-Didnt like the fact you built close 2 the floor its best to build away from that shows creator skill.
-level was kinda plain
-used story mode objects & creatures, i think you should of made your own..

Overall keep up the work::star::star:

Gender: Male
Score: 590
Deaths: none, aced it.

The trickiest part was when one of the grey rock platforms was in the foreground, which I feel plays weird in LBP with the auto switching, compared to a one layer game like mario.

One complaint: The 3 brained truck didn't die with I popped all 3 bubbles.
+ on a replay, the zombie tuck rotated over to the scoreboard and killed me lol.

By the way, it's faster to type your username than the level title.

You might be interested in my F4F, it was created for an art assignment focusing on the "shift in play spaces from real to virtual".

I think I messed up that three-brained truck thing when I was inserting it into the level. It's kind of really there to see if people realise they can just run behind it, same with the screaming-flame-heads just before it.

midnight_heist, it seems like you've put a considerable amount of effort into your level from the screenshots and stuff on your blog. It looks good, I look forward to playing it.

Ha. I didn't notice the layers behind the truck (or the screaming-flame-heads) to be honest, got distracted by the score bubbles.
My focus was acing/getting the max score possible to win one for the guys. Perhaps this is really an experiment in competitiveness between genders.
And thanks!

Thanks for your feedback about the level design, Sabre_. I'm pleased to let you know that the aesthetics of the level were pretty much a formality, as the main focus was spatial awareness, and the movement between different layers in 3 dimensions.

Is there any chance you could let me know your gender, your score, and where you died if you did?

Also, midnight_heist, thanks very much for your feedback. Glad someone else made it through.

I know the movement between layers is awkward :, but the change in position when the player is auto-switched is a good test of how aware the player is of the different layers during play. It seems that people often overshoot them because they fail to take into account how the different layers will move at different speeds.

I'll take a look at both of your levels when I get home from work in a few hours.
