Costumes I've made
Archive: 39 posts
I posted a response to someone's question about how to make a specific costume and I said that I made the best costumes I've ever seen on LBP. So I figured I'd post pics of the ones I'm willing to reveal (the ones I'm not showing are for a stage in progress). Cool costumes! You've got some good ones there | 2010-08-10 23:51:00 Author: Fenderjt Posts: 1969 |
I think the only down side is they take a while to make, and I'm too selfish to give them away since they take so long | 2010-08-10 23:57:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
I really love that costume that you have in you picture with Big Boss mate!!! | 2010-08-10 23:58:00 Author: Sackbot Posts: 17 |
Yea theyre nice. I like how you did morrigan. Maybe ill post a pic of my Devil Jin costume | 2010-08-11 00:00:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
I like them! Good work, sir! | 2010-08-11 00:09:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
I really love that costume that you have in you picture with Big Boss mate!!! Thank you. That's actually one of the costumes from my master project, it's not too hard to make though. The only difficulty is that the bandanna is a custom sticker, and it's hard to color it without coloring his hair. I had to make a custom brown sticker to fix parts of it. Yea theyre nice. I like how you did morrigan. Maybe ill post a pic of my Devil Jin costume Thanks! I originally used Violet's hair from the Incredibles pack, but it didn't look as accurate. The problem with the Silk Spectre hair is that the wings tend to spin as you turn your head. I also made this one before I had skin tones or lips, so she's just white knit. It would have been a quick change if the custom sticker on her chest (and lilith's) weren't built with the white knit in mind. | 2010-08-11 00:17:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |

Loving Bebop and yuffie. Make rocksteady! | 2010-08-11 00:33:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Loving Bebop and yuffie. Make rocksteady! I tried... the military helmet is way too big. I guess I could work on it a little more, but the best I could come up with when I first tried was a really generic version of Rhino from Spider-Man, and as you can see it didn't make the cut for what I'm really proud of. It's also really easy to make meaner looking Ninja Turtles by making every strap brown except for the head band, and then using the "Ozymandias" mask and "neon eyes". I would have made those but I don't know how many costumes you can have before it won't let you save anymore, and I don't really want to get rid of anything... it's hard enough not running out of room with custom stickers | 2010-08-11 00:36:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Very nice. I especially like Yuffie, the turtles and the Lizard. I've always thought about making TMNT costumes but haven't got around to it yet. Personally, I'd make Morrigan's and Lilith's wings a bit smaller. The problem with the Silk Spectre hair is that the wings tend to spin as you turn your head. Why not stick the wings on her head before the wig? | 2010-08-11 04:00:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
Why not stick the wings on her head before the wig? Unless I've just been assuming such, wouldn't that just make the wings disappear? | 2010-08-11 04:54:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Nope. Lots of the decos I use in costumes are put on before the costume parts. My Arcee and revised Optimus Prime had their vents/bolts put on their heads before their helmets. If you attach the decos to an accessory and then remove that accessory, they'll disappear, but if they're attached to your skin, they won't, even if you change skins. | 2010-08-11 05:38:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Ah. Did you try using the rhino head from the animal pack? Perhaps you can combine that with some decortations for the head/helm? | 2010-08-11 10:47:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

I'll be playing with that later today then. Thanks! edit: The decorations on the skin idea is working out great, but it will be a little while before I have Morrigan and Lilith remade. Sticking the wings to the head before putting the wig on has the wings sitting at a strange angle, I'm going to try to work through that and post what I come up with later. | 2010-08-11 17:02:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Ah. Did you try using the rhino head from the animal pack? Perhaps you can combine that with some decortations for the head/helm? Wasn't it a hippo in the more animals pack? I used the (overused) fang decoration for horns, but they lay weird against the skin. I'll give it some more work and see what I can come up with. | 2010-08-11 17:05:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Ah. Did you try using the rhino head from the animal pack? Perhaps you can combine that with some decortations for the head/helm? Here's my most recent try at making Rocksteady. I don't think I'll try again cause this is about as close as I think I'm gonna get. Rocksteady http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/Scarecrow_r/APhoto.jpg Added this pic to the original post. edit: Haha, I just realized I didn't add his ears... I'll stick some on if I find the right item, and if I still have space without it deleting something else. | 2010-08-11 19:20:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
those are pretty darn good! | 2010-08-11 21:50:00 Author: dsdavve Posts: 72 |
Oh, lol, I forgot I made that up the rhino. I used the werewolf head and added the monster pack spikes for horns. | 2010-08-11 22:05:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Oh snap! there all awesome! loving Bebop and Vash. | 2010-08-11 22:09:00 Author: LordMagicPants Posts: 187 |

Oh snap! there all awesome! loving Bebop and Vash. Thanks! I try to come up with quality over quantity. If a costume seems impossible to make accurately I don't make it. | 2010-08-11 22:18:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
That's amazingly helpful! I'll be playing with that later today then. Thanks! Glad to help. I'm always experimenting with what order I put things on. Sometimes it yields pretty good results. Thanks! I try to come up with quality over quantity. If a costume seems impossible to make accurately I don't make it. Same here. Well, I try it, but there's been a lot that I've scrapped when I couldn't get them to turn out right. I've had two or three versions of Dr. Horrible that I've scrapped 'cuz I just couldn't seem to pull it off as well as I'd like, and I've scrapped several Transformer costumes that just weren't good enough for my taste, including previous versions of Jazz and Prowl--just couldn't get them to turn out decent until the Iron Man costume came along (if you don't know the characters by name, you can click the link in my sig to see the bigger pic with a description listing their names). | 2010-08-12 09:57:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
Haha, nice costumes you got there ! Nightcrawler and Bebop are awesome. I would love it if someone made a Spiderman Noir (http://www.lorestrome.com/trash/marko/Spiderman_Noir-revision03.jpeg) costume. It looks very steampunk and I really love this costume. | 2010-08-12 10:53:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Very impressive costumes you got there. I like how you gave the turtles that walnut shell. I did the same exact thing but, I just don't have the shell sticker. | 2010-08-12 11:01:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |

I'll give it a shot, I have a few ideas on how it might work. Very impressive costumes you got there. I like how you gave the turtles that walnut shell. I did the same exact thing but, I just don't have the shell sticker. Custom stickers aren't really too hard to make if you have any skill at making the shapes you want. The problem you'll usually run into is that the stickers tend to wrap around the sackboy in weird ways, such as a sticker on the head spreading to his left hand. Once you work through that there are a lot of possibilities. | 2010-08-12 14:54:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
(if you don't know the characters by name, you can click the link in my sig to see the bigger pic with a description listing their names). I actually looked at that the first time you responded on here. Optimus is impressive and I like Arcee a lot too. Too bad you don't have Bumble Bee, he was my favorite as a kid... all those many many years ago | 2010-08-12 15:02:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Those are quite good m8! lol, funny I used the exact same clothes for my Vash costume, (except for the custom glasses, really good m8! ) tho may I reccomend the BUZZ pack hair, since the hair I up & spikey and all that? (P.s. I wouldn't reccomend multi-posting too much m8, can get you in trouble in this site if you do it contisiously like you have.) | 2010-08-12 15:41:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Being a massive FF fan, I love the Yuffie costume xD They're all excellent, i'd love to see more. | 2010-08-12 16:07:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |

Too bad you don't have Bumble Bee, he was my favorite as a kid... all those many many years ago Thanks. Yeah, Bumblebee is one that I've tried a couple times and ended up scrapping cuz I wasn't happy with how he turned out. Getting accurate TF costumes is impossible, so I focus on their most defining features: with Op, it's the truck front on his chest and the overall shape of his head, which wasn't too difficult; with Bumblebee, the head with little spikes is easy enough, but I haven't been able to pull off the torso (roof of VW beetle) or feet (front end of beetle) well enough to really sell it. I also had an Omega Supreme that woulda' been pretty good and Shockwave that woulda' been decent if I had been able to work out something for their hands. | 2010-08-12 18:40:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Nice costumes. If you want to see a load of CRAZY costumes I've made, I mean it... crazy. Like nothing you've seen before, I made these all from pure imagination, by that... they're not anything from TV Series or Games. Make sure you check me out. xXRazorfistXx I can assure you I'm not wasting your time. | 2010-08-14 02:11:00 Author: Unknown User |
From seeing the type of costumes you make, I'm sure you'll be very interested in the costumes I've made. If you want, add me xXRazorfistXx and I'll show you. | 2010-08-14 02:13:00 Author: Unknown User |
i loooove the ninja turtles | 2010-08-14 02:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
i loooove the ninja turtles I posted a brief explanation earlier in the thread about how to make them look "meaner". A few simple tweaks can make them more like the movie, or more like the comic. | 2010-08-14 03:25:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
