Creative Constructions

Archive: 6 posts

Hello!

I'm currently trying to make a survival level, where your goal is to survive for as long as possible to get a higher score. However, I'm unfortunately not a very creative person, though I wish I were, so I'm asking the people of LBPCentral for ideas. The playable area itself is a square, about 7 blocks high and 7 blocks wide and 1 layer thick. The obstacles and contraptions can be just about anything, as long as it would fit with a more robotic theme. The level itself is themed after a rundown factory of sort where an evil genius is taking residence.

I also would like some help with creating a certain contraptions or whatever you'd call it for the level. I want a medium sized circle (1 layer thick) to circle the room. I've tried creating this with a rocket and motor bolt to make it go from the floor, to the right wall, to the ceiling to the left wall and rince and repeat.

However, the rocket makes way too much noise for my taste and therefor I'd like a more subtle/less noisy solution. The circling block will either be electrified or gasified(?) so you have to pay attention to where it is so you don't get yourself killed.

Let your creative juices flow and if you could also provide with the basic construction of your idea, that would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I'm currently trying to make a survival level, where your goal is to survive for as long as possible to get a higher score.

That's basically the gist of it. Dodge all the deadly traps and collect as many score bubbles as you can before dying. It'll start out easy and get harder and harder as time goes by.

So far I've got two traps in mind and which I'm trying to create. The first one is the electrified block circling around the room and the second one is a trap that sets off every X second, releasing gas on the floor that lasts about 4 seconds. You'll be warned of when the gas is about to be released by highlighting two platforms above you. Jump on them or you'll be dead.

A- Please don't bump and/ or double-post, its not well looked upon and can get you in trouble in this site.

B- Your description ("a survival level, where your goal is to survive for as long as possible to get a higher score.") is the description of any and all survival levels, that is why thy're called "survival" levels m8, so please be more specific as in what theme you have in mind, what kinds of traps, how much space, the general idea on how its gonna be, point distribution system, anything, what you're saying is too vague. :/

C- I believe this should've have been posted in the "Help" section, please refrain from making another thread, just ask the Mod's to do move the thread there, and they will do so whenever possible.

Hope that helps!

Ah, okay. I figured double posting would be okay to bump a thread of a certain amount of time had passed. And I wasn't exactly too sure where to post this so I just took a guess.

And for the description of the level, here it is, again.

The playable area itself is a square, about 7 blocks high and 7 blocks wide and 1 layer thick. The obstacles and contraptions can be just about anything, as long as it would fit with a more robotic theme. You get more points the longer you survive by collecting bubble scores that emitters occassionally spit out for you to collect.
