Music Creator?

Archive: 17 posts

(this might have already been posted)

i don't know about you guys but i am sick of reusing the same old music over and over, its hard to make it fit my level, not even the interactive music works. i know lbp1 had music sounds, but without creating a music box, it was not going to work.

so, why not make a music creator? it would be an in game menu inside the pop-it, and would have sampled sounds, you can also record your own.

with all the thing you can create in lbp 2, why NOT make this?

gimmie some feed back.

It's, in a way, been confirmed, on the LBP2 website, and also on an E3 vid in the backround on the TV or whatever, but they haven't actually shown us it in action.2010-08-09 13:52:00

Okay, let me look in my favoriates...

EDIT: Got it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9JmVZTE0As

Look at 0:34 in the backround on the TV, and you'll see under "Creating" is "Directing Cinematics, Composing Music, Designing (Something offscreen)"

very interesting, hopefully this will be a in depth music creator. i hope we can make layers of sounds and add different effects to them, that would help alot.2010-08-09 15:42:00

I'm sorry to say this but there probably won't be an in-depth music creator. I hope I'm wrong but it looks like we'll have to use selectors and timers to do music. Although it does make music making a lot easier, It's not what we hoped for. 2010-08-09 15:52:00

i hate when people say "IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!", when they don't have a bit of proof.

Well just look in one of gevurah22's videos, I think it is making a UFO part 1 or 2. Instead of using any type of music creator Spaff just uses selectors and timers to make a little tune. And believe me, I want a music creator just as much as you do. But I don't want to be dissapointed if there isn't one. I may be wrong though. 2010-08-09 16:02:00

keep in mind that it was the alpha of lbp2. its not like they were playing the full fledged version with all the features included.

i can see no reason whatsoever why MM wouldn't make a music generator for LBP2. it just makes sense and completes this incredible ensemble.2010-08-09 19:19:00

I don't think Spaff would make a point to show gevurah22 how "easy" it was to make a tune in LBP with just switches if they were going to show us a full music creator later on. Of course they may be trying to fool us (or me in this thread ) into thinking that just so they will surprise us even more... keep in mind I think a music creator is a great idea and I'm not trying to be your enemy or put up a fight but, there just isn't any evidence so far.

A music generator would seriously be awesome. Imagine.. each level having its own, original soundtrack it would make levels even more uniqe and creative. I just hope that if they do put one in though, that its easy to use. x_X2010-08-10 02:19:00

this is why i want a music creator, its a no brainier! no creator should have to go through trying to make detailed levels with atmosphere (like myself) and ending up with sampled music that doesn't even fit.2010-08-10 02:28:00

i'd imagine it would along the lines of beat tracks, and set tunes that can be tweaked from original scores. now if they allowed you to then go in and adjust those notes/sounds, you'd have something akin to MTV Music Generator

Am I the only one who probably wouldn't use the Almighty Choon Generator if it ends up in the game?

Having the musical composing gifts close to a brick...
I'll hire someone.

BTW if the composer IS true, why not to make switches there that interact with the world? Music Timed Actions FTW!
