http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m88/justin11213/LittleBIGPlanet/APhoto_5.jpgYou've discovered an ancient cave rumoured to be hiding treasure the likes of which no one has ever seen. All your gear is prepared; it's time to go treasure hunting!

Created by xero11215 and Linkus89.
Navigate you way through this dark, mysterious underwater cave/temple, complete with boss fight at the end. Me and a friend made this over the weekend (almost nonstop), and it turned out pretty well. We put a lot of work into it, and after struggling with the termo near the end of production, we finally completed it.

Please give it a go and give me your feedback!

Thanks for the feedback of "The Hero Chronicles LV7 Dragon Ruins". I played this level yesterday and it was an decent level. The gameplay could use more than just swimming while holding the light object and I would like to see more visuals. The puzzle where you put an artifact to the hole with the blue gas on the other hand is ingenious. However for some reason the game froze in the middle of the puzzle so it's either just me or you must have added some bug that could make the game froze. I may not be able to finish this level because of the unexpected freezing bug but I enjoyed the lighting and the angler fishes. Keep it up.2010-09-08 00:45:00

Nice level! The visuals were pretty solid and I liked all the lighting effects.
First thing I notice, though, is how hard it is to walk around. The ground is so bumpy! Maybe you could smooth it out a bit? I'd rather not have to jump like a maniac to move about.

The lights that I had to pull around seemed kinda heavy. Maybe I just suck at swimming, but maybe you could make them a lighter material?

The person before me already mentioned this, but I think it's worth mentioning again: There is almost no gameplay whatsoever. Indeed I want to do more than just pull a light underwater while I slowly drown.

The boss fight was pretty cool. I didn't realize that the checkpoint wasn't infinite, so I was just throwing myself at the thing carelessly. At my last life I thought I was screwed, but I somehow managed to beat him! It was pretty epic!

After the boss fight I didn't know what to do because nothing happened after the sea creature died. After a while I realized that the door was one of those automatic doors that you had to get close to to activate. Maybe you should add sound effects/lights to let the player know to go towards the door?

Overall, decent level. It seriously could use some gameplay, though. Seriously. I gave it 4 stars. Nice job!

If you can do F4F, play my level "Dark Cavern", please.

I started playing this level and wasn't greeted with the best scenery, and as I absailed down into the cave I could see outside the level boundary because the camera was not set up right. I'm afraid to say the cave itself was bland with not much decoration and not much to do. Though I did like the effect of going into a dark cave dragging a light with you. I also liked the section where the key slowly fell through the gas to unlock the doors - though the presentation of this could have been better.

So then came the squid boss - this was definitely missing something. I think it needs more sound - as he swooshes through the water and tries to attack you. Also I was a bit rubbish and lost all my lives - use an infinite life checkpoint for this boss! It's not too hard but it needs that. People rate your level higher if they can complete it.

That's strange, I've never heard of that happening before, perhaps you were just unlucky. Though the game does occasionally freeze on me in random places, so that's probably what happened.

The lights that I had to pull around seemed kinda heavy. Maybe I just suck at swimming, but maybe you could make them a lighter material?
This was a huge problem for me. I experimented with tons of materials for the lights, and in most cases, they were too light! Anything lighter than a heavier metal would result in the light pulling Sackboy up. Needless to say, this is bad, since it makes you swim down very, very slowly. If you hold the X button, you move at a decent speed.

The boss fight was pretty cool. I didn't realize that the checkpoint wasn't infinite, so I was just throwing myself at the thing carelessly. At my last life I thought I was screwed, but I somehow managed to beat him! It was pretty epic!

Excellent suggestions. Since my friends and I already knew where to go/what to do, we didn't need any kind of indication.

I started playing this level and wasn't greeted with the best scenery, and as I absailed down into the cave I could see outside the level boundary because the camera was not set up right.
Indeed, throughout my play-testing this never occurred, but after publishing it and playing it, I noticed that it did. I didn't spend much time on the outside scenery, since you're only outside for about 10 seconds.

I'm afraid to say the cave itself was bland with not much decoration and not much to do. Though I did like the effect of going into a dark cave dragging a light with you. I also liked the section where the key slowly fell through the gas to unlock the doors - though the presentation of this could have been better.
Also, halfway through putting decorations in the cave, the thermo ran dry. Unfortunately, I had to "thin it out" a bit.

Due to popular demand, I'll change the checkpoint to infinite.

-You can see the light behind the wall went you come out the water near (6th picture) in the cave.
If you swim straight towards it at full speed, yes. I would've covered it more, but thermo limitations prevented this.

The gameplay could use more than just swimming while holding the light object and I would like to see more visuals.

The person before me already mentioned this, but I think it's worth mentioning again: There is almost no gameplay whatsoever. Indeed I want to do more than just pull a light underwater while I slowly drown.
You know, over countless playtests, me and my friends never noticed. Looking back at the level now, I see exactly what everyone is talking about. I agree completely, especially the beginning portion. It was never meant to be gameplay oriented, more-so centering around exploration...but it still needs some more gameplay to be interesting.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll make some changes soon, and get back to you with your F4F levels.
