Smearable Materials
Archive: 8 posts
I have seen some levels with materials of a solid white color. What I want to know is I'm pretty sure people use stickers but I can't figure out how to make all my materials solid white because it doesn't smear. Where do I get the material used in Portal levels. | 2010-08-09 03:05:00 Author: Jwei44 Posts: 46 |
What!?!? If you want to make a material solid white... make the sticker BIGGER This should solve your problem, alternatively use many stickers! | 2010-08-09 03:35:00 Author: Strangepom Posts: 445 |
When I use multiple stickers they go on top of each other and I see lines | 2010-08-09 03:38:00 Author: Jwei44 Posts: 46 |
Yeah, use a huge white sticker which covers all the material. If you want the material to have a smooth surface, I suggest using Blue Wood or Dissolve as the material. | 2010-08-09 03:46:00 Author: goldenclaw13 Posts: 224 |
Just smear your material and then place your sticker. lol | 2010-08-09 04:49:00 Author: GreatWhite000 Posts: 673 |
whAt I've seen captured materials that can still be smeared. (collected community objects). How do I capture something and still have it smearable? | 2010-08-11 09:14:00 Author: Jwei44 Posts: 46 |
How do I capture something and still have it smearable? For a material to be smearable, it must consist of only a single piece of material, and nothing else. Any attached stickers, decorations, switches, etc., will cause it to become unsmearable. As for making it smearable from the popit, that's a little stranger. Here's an example for a 4x4 block of wood:- Turn on small grid mode. With a 4x4 brush, create a block of wood which is 4 units wide by 9 units high. Now shrink the brush size to 1x1, and use the triangle button to cut it into two pieces which are both 4x4 units. Capture both pieces separately. When you try to place them from your popit, one of the two will be smearable, and the other will not. Don't ask me how this works, as I don't really know. There's no discernable difference between the two pieces. | 2010-08-11 19:02:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
