Next level unlocked if you have if your score is good enough?

What about this:
Mm told us we can make a small story-mode in the community, that's great, but I want to make a little mini-game in my story, I know we can do this:

But I want to make this:

{example: if you get more than 200 points, you can go to the next level.}

Will that be possible? I hope so.

I thought the point switch was something that gave you points when a certian criteria is met?
Maybe I should go [re]read up on the new tools...

* Score switch - can give or take away scores. Engine does a good job of detecting which player triggered it (when triggered by logic network) for competitive scoring.
*Score detection - Will activate when the score is above a certain value.

Eh...no. Not really. You may be able to fake it, but it wouldn't work as well as a simple switch.

Your right a switch would definitely be better, I am just saying that you could put a key to an unlockable level out of reach and than just have an emitter that emits point bubbles as their final score at the end of the level, but also have it emit blocks with magnetic switches somewhere else, stacking them until they reach the corresponding switch, and have that switch make the key reachable. It works, but it all depends on the kind of minigame you would want to make.2010-08-08 22:07:00

Nice option to have.
Man, it's little things like this that will make LBP2 awesome.

Personally I would keep the start/end levels reachable, and if you get a high score, you unlock the bonus. I would probably stop playing your full levels if
I had to get a highscore on a mini level. Would feel cheap if the mini game wasn't fun. (like POTC one x_X)

Are you dreaming of a universal point switch, AKA get 1,000,000 pts in Level 1 and get to Level 2 or get 1,000,000 pts in Level 1 and a door opens/world asplodes/other random action happens in Level 1?

(And the universal point switch wouldn't be possible, would it? )
