http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/LBPC-FPS/APhoto_5.jpgSackboy goes first person! No overheating mechanics. Left, Right, up, down to aim and R1 to shoot. 1 PLAYER ONLY, enjoy....

Woretords minors are at it again. Stop them from taking back the capture town FIRST PERSON STYLE

Yes you read right FPS, meaning obviously "First person shooter".

I made this level for 3 reasons;
1. To prove I could make a FPS in LBP2 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=29758-SWAT-First-Person-shooter)
2. Warlord_Evil 3D guns
3. To make a better First Person Level/part then I did in 'Flee Iraq 2' back at the start of the year.

This is my greatest level, filled with so much small details. (Explosives cause ringing sounds, etc).
A lot of pain went into this (especially knowing that in LBP2 making this is 100 times easier) to make this work, proper.

This level covers a little bit of everything, cut-scences, dialogue, humor, searching for hidden items and a little story.

This level uses feedback I received from my past levels, example, my character was too talkative in 'Flee Iraq 2'. I decided to look on other peoples level and found out that having your sackboy talk really makes the level seem like it's not directed to you... So, I shut him up completely, works really well.

Your a soulless Sackboy, doing what no other sackboy dares to do in war.

There are 10 items hidden around at the start/airbase, find them all to receive my lovely Blackhawk helicopter + another helicopter. Everything is made by me. Thanks LBPC for the logic pack, they were very helpful.

I hope you enjoy the level! 5 stars and heart appreciated.
For more FPS action try out Warlord_Evil Minigun 2 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32597-Minigun-2)

Future levels; Vitenam: FPS. Front Layer 3D M16. 100% in first person. (May be in LBP2).
and
LBP2 - SWAT: FPS is going to be impressive, it is going to be fast, it is going to be action packed!

Does that second image say 'Frist Part'?
Shouldn't it be 'First Part'? :l

Second level I have found with references to me in it...anyways, nice. I'm gonna go make my minigun aim-able now.2010-08-08 23:58:00

Well, as cool as this is, it's not really a FPS. It's sorta a rail shooter that you have to move sideways in, but since this LBP it's still impressive.2010-08-09 03:06:00

Okay, I played it and the controls weren't amazing, but they were still pretty good. I loved how you made it into an FPS even though it's not like warlord_evil's version, it's still fun and I love shooting the enemies and how you have a health bar but it does feel really short and I don't like it how you can just move through the level without shooting anyone and beat the level. Overall, I gave it :star::star::star:2010-08-09 03:56:00

Read the sign. It says "first... person... shooter."
It's in first person (like what you see what you eyes) and you shoot. That pretty much explains it. And this is as close as anyone can get to an FPS in LBP as well.

I'm getting closer, next level uses a 3D gun, it's good because it allows me to use another layer in the front. Someway it felt like LBP was designed for a first person shooter... Minus the walking of course... and... the responsiveness...

I need someone who is increaible good at logic, I'm stuck on how to create reloading logic ... And I plan to implement inverted aim option, different health bars, for hard and easy and trophiesn which allow you to recieve items. (Think, no one left alive, or heatshot hunter.)

My main priority is responsiveness and keeping the thermometer as low as possible (only uses 2 small bars, and thats mainly because of the materials used). I'm not working on the level design (ememies, etc) until it's done.

Hi Rauland... at least I find some time to post some thougts in your thread :-)

I had a nice time while playing your level - I was really impressed by the helicopters and (yeahaw) the shooting "bad guys" - when I first saw the bullet casings flying out of the minigun: yes, that was very very cool - a pretty cool idea to create this effect!!! Well, the mini-gun FPS wasn't what I expected because the aiming had his issues (maybe there was a glitch while I played it - I didn't had a chance to play this level again to test it): I could hardly move the crosshair into the differnet locations - I think the "moving box" that you've created here is (maybe) a bit to heavy to instantly reacts on how the player moves his pad. Nevertheless I loved the details you put in here.

Well, I would rate the shooting part with :star::star::star: , and I give :star::star::star::star: for the scenerey, the atmosphere and all these little lovely features - all in all I give :star::star::star::star:, even that it is a very close decision due to the level's main-stuff: the "not so easy to aim" FPS-part.

Nice level sir!

if you find some time, maybe you can check out my newest level Color up your life. Enjoy! :-)

Thanks everybody for your nice replies. I Understand your concerns about aiming. For my next level (Vitenam:FPS) I have set up a 'Code room' level. Enter the code "4679" (dummy code, 1111). Then the big outer doors will open. Go over to the Broken Blackhawk cockpit outside to find the key. It's a very early sneak peak. The gun is not 100% final and the ammo counter is not working as it should... You can shoot through walls, bullet holes and more. Please leave feedback on the comment section (or here) and tell me if you think the gun is "responsive enough".2010-08-13 04:18:00

I just found this on the cool pages and remembered seeing it here. I had no idea how you were going to pull this off, but it's amazing how you did!

Really cool stuff!
