A simple way to make non-global water

What if MM made a gelatin-like material that you could swim in, but was not dynamic, that would make it so you could make pools and such without MM having to make completely dynamic water.
Or maybe some kind of "magic water" gimmick, that is the same as normal water, except with a barrier around the borders, so it can't become dynamic, but you can still swim in it.

The simple solution they did not not do is have the same water physics we now have, but make it into a gas like material that just floats there and cannot be attached to anything.2010-08-08 00:22:00

In LBP2 there are animated materials, with at least one that looks like water, so maybe we'll be able to swim in it.2010-08-08 05:09:00

As I've understood, the goo is something made to shoot from the Creatinator. On collision it sticks onto whatever it touches and becomes a physical object for making Your Own Platforms.2010-08-09 08:18:00

There isn't too much hardware-wise keeping MM from doing non-dynamic swim-able water, so who knows? Maybe they're keeping it a secret.

I've posted this before, but this is one of the many ways it could be done:

The water material would react to physics as if it were a solid object, and it would only intersect with objects with the water switch - others it would simply collide with.

If nothing had the water switch, it would fall through everything and be lost to or beyond the stage borders.

yea, but this is not a shooter. joking. But i don't se why they can't make that. DM but look and acts as LBP1 water..

Well that's programing problem that need to be first solved then implemented, we don't know how hard it is since we don;'t know LBP insides. Most likely MM is busy with something else, but if they reading it here they know we would like it 2010-08-13 03:19:00
