Judging by the information about "DLC from LBP1 will be carried over to LBP2" and that lots of community levels in LBP1 have water, I think water will be in Little Big Planet 2. But i'm not sure if it'll come with the game or that you have to buy the PoTC pack from LBP1.

So, yes, water is in LBP2.

Are you talking about POTC real water? If so, yes it's in LBP 2, I think the reason you haven't seen it before is because we've already seen water before in LBP, so why would they bore us watching something we've already seen, when they could show us Sackbots, Creatinators, Power Gloves etc. that we haven't seen?

Not really, you can play wet levels right now even if you don't own the POTC pack. 2010-08-07 15:22:00

They haven't shown water because you have to own the pirates of the Caribbean pack to have it. It will not be in the game by default for people that buy the game, soooo they haven't shown it so that they don't falsely advertise the game.

I guarantee that when LBP2 is released someone will join up who hasn't played LBP1 and will be wondering why water isn't in the game.

Yep. Water will be available for use in lbp2. Don't care if you need to buy it or not as I already have

Whether or not MM will use the water and or paintgun etc. in the new story mode is up for debate I guess. So far they have mostly stuck to using the latest features (there was no paintgun in potc for e.g.). I'm actually quite curious about whether they will mix up some old school paintgun action into the new story mode...

I hope that they do mix up the LBP1 & 2 elements. It would make the story mode very versatile

I really wish the water physics were better in LBP2, for example, you could fill a bucket up with water.2010-08-07 16:16:00

There's this picture with the global settings, and one of them is water level... There's also a picture where it appears to have water.2010-08-07 16:17:00

There saying LBP2 has better graphics altogether (I'm guessing that means 1080p instead of 720p, but I have no idea), so I imagine it'll look the same but higher quality. I remember seeing the Global Water Switch, Water Switch and Paintinator Switch in one screenshot, among other LBP1 and LBP2 stuff, so it's there.2010-08-07 16:47:00

HmmmMmm... Even tho i can't see them putting in the water and gun,
And more then likely they won't it sure would be nice of them to add it
a little bonus of owning LBP2, but at least it seems they will use it somewhat
for the story levels :3 "mew

Water pistols look pretty and wet sackpeople to not look pretty? Or unleash mega-awesome out-of-the-box-and-into-the-space-class gameplay?

If it's not the second me sez nah.

I think some of the story levels may have water in, but not so that you can get to it to swim in it. That picture doesn't look like a playable bit of level, maybe for a cutscene or something, so the water is probably just for decoration.2010-08-10 14:43:00

But seriously, Water levels are the most infamous levels in video game history, Mario, Zelda WATER TEMPLE, no one likes them. Not saying that the water integrated into Little Big Planet is bad, it'll just be Tedious.2010-08-10 16:18:00

Pff, just because famous professional and generally awesome game makers can't make great water levels doesn't mean we can't!

Whoa whoa whoa, you mean, even though LBP2, the Mighty LBP2, lets you do all of this crazy stuff with new gadgets and you have to pay 60, to 80 bucks (which I'm paying) won't let you use water or the Paintanator even though you bought the game but still have to buy the pack. Somethingz not right 'Ere.

...

There's something you're not taking into account here.

"All DLC will be transferred to LBP2."
That means all dlc you bought in LBP1 will be in LBP2, surely? I'll have to use the search engine for this. brb.

Its a legal issue I think. We have paid for the content already, we did not pay for the right to have it a year before other people. Thats why you need to own the pack, if all DLC was already in LBP2 a lot of people wouldn't be happy and there would be fair reason to sue Sony or Mm. People have sued over less.

All DLC will be moved from LBP 1 to 2 so it would be unfair and pointless to put water already into LBP2.2010-08-10 19:07:00

Reel Watorz and the Paintinator (doubt the last one though)might make an appearance in the Story Mode, but if you wish to Create with them, get the packs.

Does anyone else feel this reply is obvious?

Meh.
The best feature of having water is;
Your friends stop nagging you to get water.

I agree with most of the stuff aboves involving water and the paintinator being in the game, but only usable in create mode if you own it.
On the topic of Real Watorz though, unfortunately it probably will be in the story, as some gigantic underwater adventure, where it'll be an easy level, just slow. Then you'll need to repeat it hundreds of times to get that last bubble. Oh, and at the end there will be one hard part making it even more annoying to ace.

with its limits of course, simulating water is very heavy on engines.

Well, Watorz will be in the Game, BUT Not as a Swimming Material.(I think)It is an Animated Material, Meaning it looks exactly like Watorz, and You can use it in a Bucket.
But, It might be a Swimming Material also,(Sorta of Subject but You can Emit Water,Fire,Goo, and Slime, all in The Bullets Section of Your Tools Bag ) but as of Right Now, Its For Decoration. For the PotC owners, It Transfers and Will look better! That's All!

You cannot put it in a bucket. If you were simulating that much free form water through out you whole map, your game would crash.
