need help on some ideas on what happens next

i have a level going where you have just broken out of a prison in the desert. after a short car chase the cops crash and make your car crash also and you die in the accident (only cus i was running out of room to build) and you then teleport to another part of the map which also looks like a desert road and your burning wreck of a car.

i want the player to eventually find a little desert town that will be the next level. however i am unsure of what to put along the journey...i thought about hallucinations with the heat and all that but im still sorta stumpted for ideas of what to put along the road

the desert in question is like the ones you get in america and australia

Well the problem here is that there's not that much gameplay in a desert, but how bout this:
I say that the cops are still looking for you so you can add some set-pieces where a second wave of cops get to the desert looking for you. From this point you can make some gameplay by either, having the player hide and sneak past them, or fight the cops somehow and get their car. You can also have an area with a canyon and somehow u have to go down (more gameplay) and somehow get across.

hmm, well a skull head is just decoration...i know how to decorate a desert haha. but yeah, i could give cneaking past the cops a chance....since a car crash happens maybe i could have it so when you "wake up" the emergancy services are on their way along with more cops and you could avoid them....i was also thinking about having some sort of bikers roaming the territory as well2010-08-06 23:30:00

How about setting it in monument valley and you having to scale huge platueas whilst being followed by the emergency services. This would give a great time to make some stunning lighting effects working parralel with 3d2010-08-07 00:42:00

iv thought about being taken underground, a bunch of desert rouges or something take you away and the cops come looking for you. and your then trying to escape from both of them. but as for the obsticles....thats another thing2010-08-07 02:54:00
