Nice drawings, they're very detailed too. I like the look of the stone, and the subtle shading is done really well. It's hard to tell but is the windmill made from stanoe and wood, or is it half old half new and made of stone and steel? If it is made of wood you might like to exagerate the wood grain more. It might be the picture's quality as well. I like to think of it as made from stone and steel. It makes it seems as though soldiers have converted it into a gaurd post disguised as an old windmill. If there's one thing I can pick at it would be the proportoin and perspective of a couple of parts. Such as round top on the second drawing where it meets with the roof. Over all they're very nice, my kind of style too. And just looking at the background landscape in the second drawing, I'm interested to what it'll turn out like when it's done. Looks interesting already actually, with the tall mountains, wooden bridge and stream. | 2010-08-06 10:23:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |
Thanks man ah yes i was stuck on what material to use there. i didnt want stone as it would potentially ruin it. so i settled for a sorta finer smooth-ish rock texture. So yea i think i should lightly shade that. ah yes i didnt particularly like how that round platform turned out. but since its a concept only im not gunna bother fixing that up im actually designing a city in the sky. im going to be trying vehicle and character design too. and try out some painting. well thanks for ur feedback | 2010-08-06 11:08:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |

Added 3D Models shotts B3 (: i wanna try out some vehicle design next Nice, the 3D models look really good with those textures. I've done a little bit of 3D stuff myself, just messing around with vehicles and buildings. I'll post a couple of shots up. Btw what program are you using, looks like sketch up. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/3D%20modelling/All.jpg http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/3D%20modelling/Engine.jpg You can't see it but the gun on top has a working scope. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/3D%20modelling/1.jpg This gun has a working scope as well, and it's square! http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/3D%20modelling/GunGood.jpg | 2010-08-07 05:00:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |

They're only very detailed because of how long I've spent on them, think I've spent almost 2 years on the car. Haven't touched it in a while, though I really should get back into it. I'm using Rhinoceros 3D, My dad found a workmate of his had a crack copy and brought it home. Works great untill it freezes or instantly closes, taught me to save often though. I made those textures myself. I just took photos with my digital camera and put them on. | 2010-08-07 06:36:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |
@shhabbazz: thanks man ive finished a couple of concepts for an air ship. @SR20DETDOG: woah! no wonder XD those models took me less than a day ooh i see. easy interface? ive tried modelling with blender but its interface is really confusing D: Ah yes I thought thats what you did. | 2010-08-07 07:13:00 Author: Alismuffin Posts: 1328 |

I just looked at the car again and realised I haven't touched it since early 2009. I might redo it actually. I find the interface very easy to use but that could be because it's the only type I've used. If you've ever used AutoCAD it's almost exactly the same. I had a quick look at Blender on google images and it does look very confusing. | 2010-08-07 07:52:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |

Hey ali, How did I miss this? These are fantastic! Don't be too humble though. Be confident, but also critical, of your artistic abilities, and you will go far. Oh, and artistic skills without creativity is like bread without butter. It's a good thing you have a creamy layer of Nutella in yours! These are awesome! I only do pencil drawings of cars and city landscapes, but it seems like you can do any picture with your eyes closed. I think you should become an artist, and sell your paintings for money. | 2010-08-19 16:02:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |

Your modeling is great, but the texture's kill it. You should try making bigger textures, that fit the design more exactly. The stone on the bottom of the windmill is just very bland. If you have photoshop, it's definitely worth your time to make custom textures. If not, you can always use gimp, or paint.net. | 2010-08-21 06:47:00 Author: nitewalker11 Posts: 222 |
