LittleBigLand 4 in 1 Epic-ness Competition ? Four Crowns to be Awarded!

Hello good people of LBPC, I am here to inform you about a cool new contest that we have at http://www.littlebigland.com

This is one big competition with four categories, four winners and four crowns.
So How Does it Work ?

Simple, it's one big competition, but there are four categories to choose from. If you can't decide you can even participate in 2, 3 or all of them.

Survival: (http://www.littlebigland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4008) This has to be a survival challenge.

Co-Op: (http://www.littlebigland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4005) This has to be a level that requires two or more players complete.

Boss: (http://www.littlebigland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4007) This has to be a boss fight, not a full level, just one epic boss challenge.

Piggy in the Middle: (http://www.littlebigland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4006)For this a level will be published and made copyable that will have a beginning and an end, it is up to you to fill in the middle.


All you have to do is pick one or more of these categories to compete in and make your level, simple eh?
So start creating and win that shiny crown!!

You can make all level with 2,3 or 52 people if you want, but there is only one crown for the winner. The crown goes to the person who publishes the level, so make sure your friend is ok with that. 		2010-08-07 09:10:00

Well, for the boss category we don't want to see full levels, but I suppose it would be alright if you required two people to actually beat him. I will ask the others to see what say think and come back to you. 2010-08-07 09:21:00

Are survival challenges allowed to be ace-able? As in, you survive through all the waves you get thrown into, so you just win?

Just wondering, because if not, I can just tweak it a bit to make it into a boss fight... But even then, it might not be considered a boss, due to it being... More focused on preparing to fight the boss, while other enemies stop you, even though you COULD just rush him...

Right then, what we've decided is that you should focus on one thing. So either make a piggy in the middle level or a survival. In any case you would have to decide in which category you want to start. That said, you could make a co-op boss battle, but it would have to be a short level (as it states in the boss battle rules). A co-op level on the other has to be longer, thus wouldn't be allowed in the boss category. Does that make sense?

If you only have one life it's a survival challenge. If there are checkpoints and/or you have multiple tries, it isn't really. So, yes it can be aceable, but in that case it should be difficult and progress should rewarded accordingly so that those who get furthest get the most points.		2010-08-08 08:54:00

Sure, an extra mode won't get minus points.
But just having a survival mode is not enough to enter it in the survival category. You have to choose between the two categories. 		2010-08-08 11:50:00

Yes, but then the crown would be sent to THAT account - so actually, you probably wouldn't be able to wear it!

I have a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaally good co-op idea, and I've been sitting here for 3 hours working it all out. It's pretty darn decent, if I do say so myself, but I'm scared to see all of you enterting.

I'll tell you this, it is not easy to work on a level for a contest. Especially since I'm entering three of them. I never made a boss fight, a co-op level, or a survival level before. I know for a fact that I will not win the Boss portion on account of this is the first boss I ever made lol. Still it doesn't hurt to try and get some practice on it.
I'm trying to make a survival level that is non-shark and bomb made. Think of the VR challenge in the MGS levels and you'll see what I mean.
As for my co-op level, it's coming out pretty good actually. I may not win but at least I'm honing my creator skills. 		2010-08-09 09:45:00

It means that it is a new level, not something you've published before (or copied from someone else). We have no way of checking when you started working on a particular level. So if you've worked on one masterpiece for the last 2 years feel free to enter it. 2010-08-09 15:25:00

Really excited about entering this level!

It's Co-Op, and I found a way to make 2 players spawn out of different checkpoints, using really basic logics!

It's kinda touchy, but it works most of the time. I'll make a little back up thingie for when it fails...

10 hours in, 10% done. I hope it doesn't take me another 90 hours to finish...

I made a co-op level called "The Ruins of King Sackboy" It is the intro/prequel to an upcoming series I'll be doing later this year. I don't know why the thermometer maxed out, but it did...sorry about it being so short.

My entry got the 160 hour bug earlier today... It doesn't seem like I've been making it for that long, especially unpaused. :eek:

Spent my free time today fixing it... At least now people don't get lag-kicked every time I enter create mode in that level!

I'm too late to enter BUT I have loads of time to enter the Sacktastic PttS: because you can win the crown (XD) and I really wanna make a LBP2 Style level. I have MANY, MANY ideas, so far....... 6 I think. But I can't list them because THEY'RE MY IDEAS!!! SO BACK OFF!!!!

Wait... if TapDatApp, or 'Alex' of Sacktsdtic reads this, not only 'woo-hoo! It gets around!' but 'the level features many different things from LBP2, including platforming, boss(s) and 2 special other features AND a super-uber-mega-ultra-phat chill-put area where you can meet up with your friends and take a look at some of LBP2's story characters (except from behind for a certain reason some of you guys have seen!
