Imagine LBP never came!

Archive: 27 posts

Imagine this. Just think if LBP was never thought of. We wouldn't even have met each other on this community!

What games do you think we all would be obsessed with if there was no LBP to start with?

Post your thoughts here!

I would have plently of stuff to do but LBP is just one of those things I enjoy most. Although the bad thing is that, I'm most likely not ever going to meet any of these people I've met through LBP in real life. 2010-08-06 01:03:00

another game similar to it would just have come in its place anyway. i am making this guess based on that creative games tend to lend a hand on the ps3, that and little big planet came around becuase of the mentality of "the ps3 needs a hugly creative game right here". so that mentality resulted in little big planet, if it didnt..it would have resulted in a different game

granted then this forum wouldnt exist and the users on it wouldnt have met...but at least we would still have had a good creative game to play in some form or another

Something else would have inevitably filled the gap. It's not really an uncommon idea, it was just never really implemented before on such a scale / platform. The thing is the market is currently filled with people that want to make their own stuff. It's highly improbable that such a large portion of the market would be ignored for any significant portion of time. Other than that, who knows.2010-08-06 02:09:00

heh got there just after i did. but yeah pretty much, another game that centres around creativity would exist instead. as it came at a time when they thought about the ps3 having an exlusive game based on it2010-08-06 02:26:00

I would be drawing less platform elements and more characters.
As for my gaming replacement...probably Modnation Racers.

What a nightmare that would be.
If it wasn't for LBP, I would not have even bought a PS3. If it didn't exist, I would have only gotten a PS3 just for the rest of the Ratchet and Clank series.

If LittleBIGPlanet never came out, I'd be 1337ing in Killzone 2, pwning in Modern Warfare 2, taking names in Warhawk, and making little kids cry in Resistance 2, while placing pre-orders on the new Twisted Metal, Killzone 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Gran Turismo 5 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Basically, I would've been that one twisted S.O.B. you'd run away from while playing any FPS or racing game. Seriously, LittleBIGPlanet game me a more enlightening view on videogames, finally dragging me out of the stereotypical "FPS-only" attitude.

Oh, and I wouldn't be called Outlaw-Jack.

I'd join the military at age 11. After I save the US from a giantbowl of rice, I'd become an honorary sushi chef and break the record for sushi with most rice. Then I'd learn how to breath fire and invent atomic coleslaw.2010-08-06 19:48:00

kind of the same for me,as I got LBP in a bundle along with my PS3 and NFS shift but I probably would have got a bundle just with NFS.That would have been really boring as I didn't get my PS3 online until a few months afterwards. I would have only had NFS.

It wouldn't be much different. I didn't get LBP when it came out, nor did I floow information on it much. I always wanted it once I'd heard about it, but no that much. When we were getting a PS3 though, LBP came bundled with it, so that made me happy.

Basically, I think I'dd just still be pretty much how I am now, but with more "Wouldn't it be cool if so and so was made into a videogame" and "I'd be awesome if they added this into this videogame" moments.
