Choosing your Gender

For me, it would be awesome to be able to choose your gender before you start playing.
What I mean by this is, that if you chose "Male" you would just get the normal sackboy. But as you often talk about sackgirls - I think it would be fitting to be able to choose "Female" and get a little bust for your sackgirl.

Now, I am not saying this because I'm a person easily drawn to sexual features. I'm saying this, because it would be easier to distinguish between males and females, when playing with someone. This is often helpful as you may, without meaning to do so, offend the other person because you said something unfitting, considering their gender.

Now, I know it would mean that you have to design every set of shirts twice. But it's a feature I would really like, as it would also give the sacks some more character.

As I said "Of course, you should be able to switch gender for each individual sack you make, in the sack creation menu.".
It should be an option where you tick Yes/No. Just as in LBP1, where you could choose if the Piston should be Stiff or Slack.		2010-08-05 18:35:00

I think an indication (like an icon) next to the PSN name or something would be better. A minor feature like the one proposed wouldn't be very noticeable in most cases, and is likely to be rendered irrelevant by many costumes, so it wouldn't really change anything IMHO.

Are players really that annoyed at having their gender mistaken in LBP? It seems pretty easy to make "girly" and "boyly" costumes already, so wouldn't it be their own fault for having androgynous costumes?

Sackpersons do not suckle their young, therfore there is no need for mammary glands, so the sackgirl will never grow a bust.

They appear out of round doors. It is implied from their "popping" animation that they can reassemble their atoms afterwards behind these round doors. In fact, their ability to create materials, costumes and objects out of thin air implies they have mastery of subatomic manipulation.

Nah, yuo can pretty much tell wether the costume is male or femals most of the time, by hair, eyes and clothes.

And in case you hadn't noticed, certain costumes DO change sackperson's apperance to make it look femenine, such as the wedding dress, Elasticwoman's top (the on from the Incredibles) and other "female specific" ones, so i don't really see th point of this...		2010-08-06 00:16:00

To put it simply: Yes, I want LittleBigBoobs.

But as I said, I do not want it, because I'm a pervert. I want it, because it can make some characters, really stand out, just by adding a bump in the fabric.
If we take a look at the game ModNation Racers, you will notice that it is possible to make a bust, which actually 'grows out form the chest' instead of just being stickers. You should be able to do something similar in LBP.. Even though it would be cool, if it was just a fast standard, so you wouldn't have to color it it a billion hues, just to make it fit your shirt.

And before anyone says this, I'm gonna say it first: I do NOT want a bump in male sacks' pants. That would really be crossing the line.		2010-08-06 00:47:00

It's just a doll. Personally, I don't see any point in choosing your gender because girls usually wear something more feminine. Besides, I can count the number of times where I've talked to another player on LBP on one hand and I didn't have much to say (neither did they).2010-08-06 01:15:00

Actually you can't. You can only add extra shapes to the head section. All the female custom "parts" are just made from stickers, like in LBP.

Even if a sackgirl had the incredibles bust/thin torso, wouldn't most people add clothing overtop, nullifying the point?

Well, to put it simpy, this would be pointless. I know your getting so many negative comments, sorry.

And I guess it would be inappropriate when Sackgirl DOESN'T have any clothes on,...You know, a lot of young kids playing LBP. And why are you making a big deal out of it? LBP isn't about gender, it's about having fun, whether your a boy or girl.

I think you're being a bit hypocritical here. You want anatomically correct human features on a sackperson? Did you ever consider that a sackperson doesn't have these features because they're not human? And why only for the female anatomy?

LBP is a great game because I can play it in front of her with no worries about the repercussions of graphic violence, vulgarity or nudity on the screen. It's an interesting idea, but one to which I say: No, thank you.		2010-08-06 16:33:00

Sorry, I just can't help noticing how you used the example of 'Stiffness' for Males xD

Yoho! i just want the Allance on LBP not to be all one costume part like the yellow head~
and for us to get nice DLC made like them Allance are here and there, that one female Allance mamber is cute
and i'd love to use parts for other costumes if they be nice enough not to make them one part,
but yeah to pick from one to the other is not needed tho unlike most of the other people here i'd be fine with it,

The overly sexualized sackgirl costumes you see plastered over all the cool wall level photo sections creep me out.

Some of them have obviously had a bit of time spent on them, but the fishnet tights, long flowing hair, pink underwear and pink army rigging with freckles and rabbit noses don't do it for me.		2010-08-09 01:30:00

But these things, as well as those mentioned by others, are all against the rules and reportable. I couldn't see MM going for something like this because it would open up the doors to abuse. Fishnets and underwear are one thing, but simulated cloth breasts are entirely another.		2010-08-09 03:59:00
