HUGE PROJECT! [Help Needed Desperately] WORTH READING

Hello there!

I am making an RPG series which is going to be huge. Each level is going to be very long. Around 40 minute to 1 hour. I have thought of the whole story. Some ideas I've copied but have Bern inspired by them so I've expanded on them.

My RPG series will be started in LBP1 and finished in LBP2.

It will be an amazing RPG level, inspired by Oblivion. It will have a medievil and assassin theme to it.

Below is a list of what to expect:

- A huge explorable enviroment.
- Lots of twists and puzzles.
- A great amount of story and dialogue.
- An inventory and map system.
- A karma/reputation system.
- Proper RPG gamebattle enemy fights.
- Interesting cutscenes.
- A great plot to enjoy.
- Your actions will determine how the story goes.
- Tips and Help
- Choose a character past at the start.

Now that's a lot of information to take in.

I will make this level until the thermo is completely maxed out. I will also have the story come up on writing using font stickers, inspired by some RPG levels.

The level has already begun and I need testers A.S.A.P!

The testers can be anyone.

I also need logic, title sequence and cutscene helpers!

Thanks Jeperty. Yeah, I'm trying to go over the boundarys and try make it super awesome. Anyway what did you think of what i had done so far when I showed you today?

Oh are you good at character cutout? I'll need plenty of those.

Woah, when you said "HUGE PROJECT" you really meant it!

The only parts I have my doubts about are the inventory and map system. They can be done I'm just wondering how you would do them and whether or not they're actually worth having or if they should be dumped to allow the other aspects of the game to be better. I can see the thermo taking a pounding from this level.

I can't actually help with this though, unless it's through here at Central, but I'm interested as to how this will turn out.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. I was thinking of having a map that just had different markers and stuff. Although, LBP2 will have holographic material which I can use as a mouse. Yes you can all help surely. I'll add you when I'm online 2010-08-05 10:39:00

I'm not that great at creating but good luck! If you need someone to test levels, cutscenes, anything, then I'd be happy to do it, even if each of the levels take that long or longer.2010-08-05 13:06:00

Ive had tons of experience with cutscene logic, and I can handle other logic almost as good.

- Choose a character past at the start.

Does this mean you plan on using "An emitted level", or just emitted parts? Because levels can stretch the thermo pretty far depending on your method. Anyways, if a logicman is up your creek, add me (FinalFanLevels). After all my project died, and I still have the urge to create.

these levels seem to be very thermo heavy! if you know how to use the thermo glitch, use it (not tooo much though, it'll crash :O)
I'm okay at logic and making some neat contraptions... I'll help you if you need me to.

This sounds pretty crazy and I'd love to help. I'm more experienced in Story, Dialogue and General Gameplay Idea's. However I don't think it should be split across 2 games, mainly because players who don't get LBP2 for whatever reason can't take part in the latter stages of the game (I say game because it sounds like you wanna make an game)

But hook me up if you wish, I'd love to be an part of this.

I hope you succeed, but it'll take a lot of the thermo, maybe too much...

If you need some help making cool individual objects I can help. I'm not great at making landscapes, but individual things like logic systems, lightning effects, breakable crates, interactive containers, or boss enemies are where I'm best. I can't be sure when I'll be able to help, however, as there are some other games absorbing my time right now.
