Different Sensor Areas

Different Sensor Areas

Welcome to this little guide/tutorial of how to make a player sensor,
but with a different detection area.
The original idea comes from the Incinerator22 (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/member.php?4696-Incinerator22)'s Logic Workshop (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=31753-Logic-Workshop) topic, check his topic for better
understand logic and learn more about logic.

Percentage of completion of the tutorial: 20%

This is the hardest project I'm ever doing (for me).

Currently, I'm only showing the switches guide, not the tutorial of how to make it,
because I don't have time now. I'll add the tutorial later, and there will be some presets of sensors areas, like a eye-shaped sensor area. There will be a level with these presets.

(In this guide/tutorial, the strong red area is the detection area)

This is a normal sensor, with a normal detection area.

and this is a Square/Retangular sensor, there are 2 normal sensors,
but with intersectioning themself, and creating a retangular detection area:

This is a triangular sensor, there are 3 normal sensors:

And this is a triangular sensor, with rounded down part, there are 3 sensors:

Hope you enjoyed

LITTLE EDIT: There will be included in this topic the how to make of:
Square, Circle (did i need 2 make the how to make of this?), Triangle, Pentagon, Right Isosceles Triange (the one thats a 1/2 of a square), Octagon, Semi-Circle, Hexagon, Medium Elipse, Thin Elipse, Thick Elipse, Eye-form, Arrow, Arc, 6-pointed star, Cross, 5-pointed Star, Heart (maby..hmm), Moon and Drop

Also, a long time in the front, i'll try to do a sackperson form (not EXACLY like the original form)

It's possible to make a triangle sensor with only two sensor switches I believe. Since a 90? is pretty much a triangle with a rounded edge, you can use a second sensor switch to trim off the rounded part down the the triangle you want with some kind of switch. And the triangle can be shaped to perfection when you adjust the angle of either sensor switch.

It would be great if you could show us more shapes as well. Its a good start!

These custom areas work fine in single player. However, due to the nature of the way in which they are constructed, they can have some subtleties in multiplayer. This thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=17405-How-to-make-rectangular-sensor-areas!&highlight=rectangular+proximity) has some discussion on how exactly that works and the concepts involved, although IIRC it's all just about rectangles, though the principles are the same.2010-08-05 09:05:00

Is it really needed to make a tutorial for circles and semi-circles? I think it should be pretty self explanatory...

I'm willing to help. It'll give me something to do in my spare time And do you plan on replacing your current pictures with ones of the actual game?

Unless he had 4 controllers, there is no way he could highlight every sensor radius at once and take a picture.
