Killzone - Assault on HelganTheSpartanDon
After many years of war, the ISA forces have finally invaded the Helghast home world. Your dropship has been shot down and you've been left stranded in the middle of an warzone. Are you tough enough to survive the First hour of Battle?
I decided to make an level based on an popular franchise so it would hopefully get more exposure on LBP. So I thought of popular & iconic playstation franchises and came up with Killzone. The level is based on the early events in Killzone 2, it isn't supposed to be an remake and it doesn't take itself seriously. The level isn't some shoot em up either, you'll be doing more jumping than actual shooting. Mainly because I don't like the shooting in LBP I also aimed to have the level as varied as possible. It's recommended to play alone or with an friend, things do get chaotic with 3 or 4 players.

I hope you like my level.

UPDATE: I've now posted Screenshots of the level.

I'll F4F as fast as I can.

Just played it, so here is my feedback for you! (;

I just played a Killzone 2-Demo, that's everything I saw from Killzone.^^

The positives:
I never played Killzone really, but thats not important, because your level was quite fun!
The enemies were cute (haha) and the gameplay okay. The visuals were good, too. I felt like I am in a really catastrophic situation! The dialogues were quite funny and kept me entertaining over the whole level!

The negatives:
I started running left, because the camera angle pointed to the left..so I tried to get there, but the enemy further left always killed me with his plasma-balls. And I realised after I got to the price bubble, that I normally had to jump right. Maybe you should correct the camera angle a little bit! But thats not so important, just a little problem.
I think you should use infinitive checkpoints..because if someone would die completely in your level, he may won't want to retry. Causes bad ratings. ):

Over all a nice and quite funny level...

:star::star::star::star: for you! (:

Hey,

Just played this, not bad at all! Good use of the KZ sticker pack but the level felt a little flat, visually. A few clever ideas and touches here and there. Though a few areas are kind of sloppy, the level was generally fun, albeit non-challenging except for that machine that drops the bombs.

Good stuff, was glad to play it. Just needs a little refinement

Thanks very much for you feedback, I think your right about the Infinite Checkpoint Idea. I wanted to have my level to at least some sense of challenge, but I guess not having any infinite checkpoint will end up only being frustrating. I'll also reposition the camera at the start, Thanks for the feedback again 2010-08-04 20:16:00

I do agree with the things you said, I couldn't find an decent background that worked for the level. I'm also not the best when it comes to actually building the level. But I totally agree with what you said. I really felt that the brief underwater section isn't very good at all. Originally there was an shark in the water that you had to escape from, but the shark was too good and would often trap people so they couldn't move. So I scrapped it and just replaced it with electricity which was lazy of me, but I was too far into the level to change the geometry of the level.

But once again thanks for the honest feedback. I appreciate it.

Opps forgot to write notes while playing (was so immersed!) but it was defiantly one of the better KZ2 levels as mentioned above. Honestly I don't think I can fault it much because its hard to create KZ2 onLBP. 4/5 stars (sorry for poor feedback I'm tired its 2am and i just played and reviewed 10 other levels 0_o(2010-08-06 01:40:00

=I didn't know where to go at first.
=I'm thinking maybe the plasma balls go too fast. It's hard to tell where they're coming from and so forth. I like to feel like a ninja and dodge bullets.
=With the robot firing the two rockets and you had to ride along the middle... well, it was really long, and I died a few times (therefore I had to do it all over again). Seems like it should be a shorter distance.
=When I pulled the guy off the ledge (which was awesome!) I mysteriously died in the gas.
=Sometimes the jumps are a little too long
=I'm a huge fan of explosions!
=Not a lot of points; I felt as though there could be a few more.
=I got confused with some of the dudes shooting at me... I don't know if they were shooting in different lanes than they were standing in or what, but some were ridiculously easy to kill.

I liked it. I can't say how close it is to the original, and it doesn't have a lot of familiarity value to me, but it was fun. :star::star::star::star: Thanks for creating it!

If you would kindly review my level: Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy - Part I (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32124-Commander-Keen-Goodbye-Galaxy-Part-I). Thanks!

I never played Killzone before, but this level is pretty good. It wasn't flashy or anything like more of these kinds of levels.
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. Some of the gameplay elements made me smile. (The one robot that shoots rockets and you have to walk inbetween at the right speed. nice.) The visuals weren't all that great, sometimes the enemies were like impossible to dodge, but actually very fun. Simple gameplay mechanics such as dodging fireballs, etc. gave a nice touch. So good job.

I gave it :star::star::star::star:

Can you leave feedback on Farewell Ruins of the Moon: Chapter Two (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32039-Farewell-Ruins-of-the-Moon-Chapter-Two)? Thanks.

I highly suggest you play the first chapter before since this is a direct continuation of the previous chapter. ^...^

For some reason I almost always give a play to levels that make use of certain sticker packs. It's odd, and seemingly a bit irrational, admittedly.2010-08-08 18:24:00
