The Ice Tool back!

Archive: 25 posts

It was originally supposed to be in LBP but it never made it because it had too many flaws, so i would hope it could be in this one!2010-08-03 14:02:00

You should change the exclamation mark in your title to a question mark because it makes it seem like your making a statement.2010-08-03 14:37:00

The problem was that it was difficult to escape right? (originally it'd freeze you in a block, and you could escape, but i heard on big ice patches you'd immedietly freeze again or something)

I think, it should be either 1 hit kill (like electricity, but instead you freeze and die), or it should be tweakable so it could be like, if you stayed on it for X amount of time, you'd freeze and die. (tweakable because otherwise it'd be a lesser threat in small doses, and near impossible to cross large amounts)

Yes! Loving the idea of set amount of time! This would be great for gameplay for our R&C project!

This is still possible. All the information about LBP 2 that has been made public is not all the information. There is still a lot we have not been told about. I would love for there to be more hazards in LBP 2 2010-08-03 16:12:00

Sackcast talked about this. Apparently, it was awful. As Matimoo said, it froze you in a block of ice, which to escape you had to shake the controller vigorously. If when you escaped you were still on ice, you would die. All in all, a pretty bad implementation.2010-08-03 16:50:00

It would be good if you were on a convayer belt and you had to break free before the trap at the end..
Or a play by itself level that you can slide now

I'd say make it a hazard like electricity(1 hit kill) and make it melt near fire, but you could do that easily with dissolve/mag keys 2010-08-03 17:57:00

Maybe the ice could...
1)work like plasma balls
2)set amount of time. When you touch it you start freezing and move slower until you freeze completely and die.
3)work like it was supposed to in LBP, but if you freeze over an ice surface you die instantly.

Gee, I hope they add ice, I was pretty disappointed when it didn't show up in the first one.

Considering its the most unique of all the hazards.

I thought you was able to escape by shaking the controller...
But yes, it would be nice to have it back. Also you can make things like you have to get in ice to get somewhere (sliding on electricity), and then destroy the ice.

I wish we still had it cause it was actually one of the most unique. I mean all the hazards are basically instakill where as this one could just slow you down. it is something they should have kept 2010-08-04 15:11:00

Water is ice, Water can conduct electricity.

Is it PURE water or water with minerals in it?

PURE water doesn't conduct eletricity!

Sure it might have been badly implemented but it looked pretty freaking cool. Especially when you broke out of an ice cube, the shards of ice turned into real physical objects.2010-08-05 20:36:00
