Hi. Does anyone want a review? If so, just tell me your level name, your PSN and a brief level description.

I'll do only 5 reviews a week.

My criteria is:

Originality and Creativity: /10
Wow Factor: /10
Visuals: /10
Sounds and Music: /10
Atmosphere: /10
Design: /10
Materials and Theme: /10
Gameplay: /10
Length and Difficulty: /10
Inspirational: /10

Originality and Creativity:

I will rate your level out of 10 based on how original and creative is. Have I ever seen it before? No. Then it gets an automatic 5 out of 5. The other 5 you will get depending how creative your level is. If it's just boring old dark matter level then expect to get 0. If you come up with something easy and creative. E.g A sock instead of a snake then I'll be impressed.

Wow Factor:

Now this is all depending on my own thoughts. If I play your level with a wide opened mouth, then it had blown me away.
Believe me, it's happened before when I've play some great levels. This is marked based on my facial expressions and emotions while playing the level.

1-2: Sleepy and Bored
3-4: Dull and thinking of quiting
5-6: Seem interested
7-8: Smiling while I play the level
9-10: Mouth wide open and very excited

Visuals:

Does your level look realistic or detailed? Does it look exactly as you intended it too be?
Visuals impress me very much. If you have a level that looks realistic, then you get 10 out of 10. If it's a cartoon type level and is colourful and like a cartoon visually, you get 10 out of 10 and so on.
If your level has very little scenery and is simply mikes upon miles of running and jumping on a simple cardboard material then expect to get low.

Sounds and Music:

Does the sound and music suit the level's atmosphere? Is it just boring old comedy sounds placed randomly over the level?
I love music and sound in levels. If there is no music whatsoever then I'll give you an automatic 0.
Expect a 10 if you have music suited with the theme perfectly. E.g. An old forest with creaking sounds and gusts of wind will get you a 10.
If you have an old forest with burping and singing sounds then I'll not be impressed as it doesn't suit the atmosphere.

Do you have an action level with music like, "My Patch"?
If you do, change it too something more intense to build tension. I love big suprised and tension.

Atmosphere:

Is your level an old abandoned factory or a wild and exciting platformer?
These are 2 different things. When making a level, always use the colour correction and change it. You'll be suprised at how it changes the detail and atmosphere.

If your making an old spooky factory level, have a dull, sepia type colour correction. This makes it seem more creepy. If it's a platformer with loads of bright colours then use one of the brighter colour corrections.

Also use stickers and lights when making a good atmosphere. Have you used lighting, detail and sounds effectively to suit the atmosphere? Then if you have you get a 10. If not you'll get lower.

Design:

Does your level have a funky and awesome design or is it just plain old walking forwards?

Design is everything and helps towards gameplay quite a bit. If I see bits of dark matter everywhere then your design isn't so great.

If I see your level with different paths and puzzles then expect a 10. I love going on different paths that lead to adventure. Never have the player running straight forwards for more than 30 seconds. It's extremely boring. Why not add some jumps or traps?

Materials and Colours:

Do you materials blend with each other or do they all look out of place?
Do your colours match? E.g. Black and White

If I see your level with interesting materials that suit each other then I'll love it. This adds to visuals and atmosphere quite a bit. If you just randomly have dark matter and metal together then they don't match and looks ugly. If your using colours, use ones that go together. Don't use a dark green with a black. Instead try yellow with purple. Also you should use different shades of colours and add the black shading sticker for effect, volume and detail,

Also don't worry about colour sticker glitchs. I'll not rate low if I see any. It happens to me a lot and you can't solve the bug no matter what.

Gameplay:

Is the player actually doing anything? If your level is a platformer and there is no gameplay then I'll rate low. If it's a concept or showcase, etc then I'll ignore the gameplay part.

If you want high results, then your level must be fun and enjoyable. Adding in jumps, spinning wheels and running up and down through weirdly shaped tunnels makes a big difference.

Gameplay is very important to platformers and the entertainment of the player.

Length and Difficulty:

Is your level too long or too short? Is it just right? Is it short and sweet?
Is your level frustrating and stressful to complete certain areas or just a swift journey through a creation?

The length had to be just right to suit your theme. If I get bored before the ending, then it's either too long or hasn't got enough gameplay. I tend to get frustrated quite easily with certain things if I get bored and lose my patience so it mustn't be too difficult or too easy. I'm quite good at acing things so no level should be a problem.

Inspirational:

Does your level inspire me?

If I want to copy certain ideas or looks from your level then I have been inspired. If your level doesn't inspire me to create like you do then you'll not get a 10. Although I'll think if it could inspire others so it's more fair.

I'll give your level a mark out of 100 based on the total of my criteria at the end.
I'll give tell you what star rating I gave you and if I hearted it or not. I will also tell you what I tagged it.

I'll give you an opinion from each of my criteria as well as my personal opinion overall. I'll tell you what the best and worst bits were and how you can improve.

I however will not help anyone to improve their level as I'm too busy.

I'll also write a brief description of what the level was about in my opinion.

Thanks. Your review should be sent to you within a week or less.

P.S. Can a mod close my old review thread as this one is a lot better I think.

This level was a really great concept and you built the right idea. However the level can be improved in some ways which will make it a lot better.

Originality and Creativity: 10/10 I gave this section a 10 as I have never played a tower defense level with the style as yours did. I liked the way it was in an ariel view type of way. It definately captured the fact it was a TD.

Wow Factor: 5/10 I gave this a 5 as it was ok. It didnt blow me away. If you see my criteria, a 5 or 6 means im interested so its not too bad. If you improved the visuals and the difficulty, you would've gotten higher.

Visuals: 7/10 I gave this a 7 as it's only a TD. Tower Defenses dont have to be overly artistic or amazing to look at. The start was a little bland looking. I would brighten it up. Black and purple don't go well. Try purple and yellow instead. You should add a little more scenery in the actually level, like some trees, maybe dark and light green stripes instead of the simple grass.

Sound and Music: You should add better sounds, like machinery and enviromental sounds. Also start the game off with music incase people skip the picking music part. You should add in MGS and Marvel Pack music. That would definately go with the TD theme.

Atmosphere: 8/10 I gave this an 8 as it is only a TD after all. They don't have to be overly complicated. Yours was plain simple and it looked well. Maybe add in some lightening effects and change the colour correction.

Design: 9/10 This got a 9 as the design was definately a TD style. The ariel view like I said before was a great idea and reminds me of LBP2. If you recreate this in LBP2, it will be great!

Materials and Theme: 7/10 I gave this a 7 as the materials did suit the theme but the materials didn't suit each other. I would maybe use a different grass material and maybe more futuristic metals out of the MGS pack. The colours also did'nt suit each other at the start. Try using purple and yellow or green and red.

Gameplay: 6/10 This got a 6 as there was gameplay and it was a good idea but the enemies came too slow in the first level and came too fast in the second. It is also too hard to control more than 1 turret at once so maybe make some automatically turn and shoot. Improve this issue and I'll give you 10.

Length and Difficulty: 8/10 The length was spot on but the first level of enemies came too slow and the second level came too fast. This made it difficult to kill them all without dying. Read Gameplay on how to improve above.

Inspirational. 10/10 This is definately inspirational as I would want to try and make it myself. The design is great and enemies are simple but good. Well done.

Overall I gave this 76% or an A-

I thought the design was great. The concept was anj original idea and it was set out well but can be improved. I liked the point system usuing the lights as it worked perfectly, however you need to give out m,ore points or make the turrets cheaper.
The level was quite slow at the start then it became too fast coming into the second level. I didn't even make it to level 3. The music needs fixed to something more dramatic and you'll need to improve the visuals. Overall well done and if you decide to improve, I'll be happy to play it again.

P.S If you want more plays, make a better icon and fix the 'lvl 1' to Wave 1. It seems more professional.

My PSN is SpiffyMcCracken, I'm making a storyline called: "No Laughing Matter". The first third of the first level, titled: "The Genova Incident", has been completed. Last checked it had only been played by 8 people, but it had a rating of 5 stars. If I get enough play troughs to warrant my finishing of the story, I will. I probably won't change this first level at all, but any criticism you give will be taken heed for the future levels.

The shortest discription is that you're stuck in a war against a clown army.
It is short; my thermometer over heated and I was forced to split the level in thirds to compensate for the complexity.
There is more than one path though, so that should help in lengthen the playtime.

Again: any criticism will be helpful!
