Looking for medieval games/levels/whatever

Archive: 5 posts

Hi,

I could really use some help and inspiration for a current project, and I need some medieval sceneries that I could reproduce in LittleBigPlanet Thus, I've already picked out several inspiring influences, such as :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- The brand new Castlevania (seems like it takes place outside most of the time though...)

- Fable III.

- Medieval Times Revisited in LittleBigPlanet

- A Journey by Syroc.
- And also... well I've just watched The Tudors Season finale, I won't need help to make medieval pillows, underpants, nightdresses, or bed sheets anymore.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd be delighted if you would know some other video games, levels or anything else that could help me make good sceneries.

Thanks ^^

Kingdom of Heaven and Braveheart would probably be pretty good inspiration. The Tudors as far as I know is technically set slightly post-medieval times though probably not enough to matter. A Knight's Tale is another Medieval film.

EDIT: Oh and Dragonheart if you want to go a bit more towards fantasy medieval.

In terms of games only one comes to mind. Mount&Blade. Trial should be available online. Game has a pretty good combat system and is quite fun. Not sure how much help it will be though. Still, worth a look.

EDIT 2: Assassin's Creed is medieval. Also Age of Empires and Medieval Total War. And Dante's Inferno... and Jeanne D'Arc (PSP).

God of War! Or The Elder Scrolls Oblivion will definately give you inspiration. Robin Hood, Lord of the Rings are also very reccomended films to watch 2010-08-04 01:39:00
