You need a video capture device like an internal capture card or an external usb/firewire device.
They can run you from anywhere from $50 to $500. If you get lucky, you can find an SD one on eBay for $30 or less.
http://www.google.com/products?q=Capture%20Card&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf
Yeah, they are pretty expensive and require a decent computer to actually use them. If you're patient and do not want to spend the money, you can find an inexpensive ($3 - $5) "mini tripod" and just record the level with a camera.

I know for a fact some users on here are willing to record your level if you ask nicely, although I forgot what users ATM.

Whatever you do, stay away from Pinnacle devices, AKA the Dazzle. Horrible pieces of crap, especially the Video Creator Platinum.

I believe they are called Capture Cards and you connect them to the HDMI of your TV somehow. I'm not sure if thats the best way, I might get one though. They vary in prices, i've found some from ?5 - ?50. But the ?50 ones are HD and stuff.

You can get them from PC World and Amazon, well, they're the only places I know where to get them. I reckon you can get them from plenty of places, just google "Capture Card". Hope i've helped.

Oops, never noticed you Heros, we must have posted at the same time. xD

No, unless the game is emulated on the computer, or your computer can receive a video signal from the PS3.
You need a device to hook up the PS3's video to the computer. (discussed above)

Also, if you have a DVR, you could just record LBP to a DVD and rip the video to your computer.

Some people have been mentioning capture cards, these are a good solution if you have a nearby desktop computer. I use a Hauppauge HD PVR (Personal Video Recorder) which uses the component video signal from your PS3 and records it to compressed H.264 1080i 29.97 FPS video. This is sent via USB 2.0 to your computer (You could use a laptop instead of a desktop or even a netbook). It also provides an easy way to record video from a cable box, satellite receiver, VCR, DVD, etc.

I could record the video for you to your specifications also.

Dang, i was looking at that but now looking at the specs i would much rather sacrifice quality for frame rate...

Just make sure whatever you get takes the input from your PS3... so you don't end up like me and running your output to a VCR just to pass it through to the S-Video input of the capture card (which would only take S-Video or Component, not Composite). The output I got was fine... but trying to make a trailer while playing your level with 0.5 seconds lag was pretty hard, LOL. I actually had to edit a copied level, just to get some of the shots I wanted because I couldn't make the jumps I needed to make while recording through all the extra hardware/cables... :oP2010-08-03 03:42:00

You could have spent a few extra bucks and got signal splitters from radioshack, that way you can play on your TV (no lag) while the footage is captured on your PC.

The frame rate is only lower because 1080i stands for 1080 horizontal scan lines which are interlaced. The videos field rate is still at 60Hz (50Hz) but because it is interlaced the frame rate is halved. 720p could be recorded at 60FPS still.

Okay, that's nice

Hello BIG_BOMM!!!! If you are the same person then you know me on PSN (SP1KEYH0DGE)
Well, I'm after Easycap which only costs about ?5 on Amazon.co.uk and it's easy to use.
Also I don't know if the capture card comes with Splitters but I on't think it does.
