Cubeworld 2: Workshop Woes [Spotlighted!]

Cubeworld 2: Workshop WoesMrgenji
The quadrilateral quest continues! This time venture into the industrious Cubeworks, where all cubes are made! But a factory is no place for a small sackboy, so be sure to keep your wits about you if you want to stay alive!

Welcome back to the angular adventures of Cubeworld!

Hey again all, this is the much delayed thread for Cubeworld 2! If you haven't played Stormy Skyway (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=30403-Cubeworld-Stormy-Skyway&highlight=cubeworld) yet, now might be a good time. Go on, it's been spotlighted and everything!

Anyway back to the subject on hand. After I finished the first Cubeworld the question I was asked most was "Where did you get all those sexy cubes?". The answer is simple my friends, The Cubeworks!

The fine people at the Cubeworks are dedicated to building the world cube-by-cube 24/7. Now you too can marvel at their fantastic factory. Workshop Woes attempts to follow the cubetastic style of the first level, but in a new industrial setting.

Race through the busy factory to get to the checkpoint, but be sure to avoid the dangerous (and largely pointless) machines.

Anyway I published this a few days ago and was to lazy to make a thread

As for F4F, I'll do as many as I can - But I tend to get rather busy lately so I could cut them off at any point (sorry).

This is an excellent level. Expertly built and designed. I would only change a couple things:

At the very beginning when you press the orange button, it's not obvious what that does. It would be nice if there was a majic mouth with a camera angle that comes on to show you what the button does. I kept pressing it a couple times and it appeared as if nothing had happened because I did not see the pillars move.

The second thing would be the first section of the rising red gas. I think it was a little too difficult to get to the very last button of the three. I would add an extra second or 2 to the time for the gas to rise.

But those things were really just nit-picky. Overall, this was great. The choice of materials and intricate design make for a great atmosphere, and the gameplay is fun and challenging.

If you have a chance, please F4F on my level Mermaid Isle. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback! I was a little worried about that button section towards the end, I think I need to tweak the buttons more than anything else, it's possible with time to spare - But often the buttons don't fully activate...hmmm2010-08-02 15:04:00

I loved the first level and here's what I thought of the second.

Personally, i liked stormy skyway's theme more but this one was still a lot of fun. As usual, I loved the tricky challenges plus I really liked the timed part with the red glass water(if that's what it was) rising up and you have to hurry and press the buttons although sometimes when I pressed the button it didn't work and I had to press the middle but I guess that's just because of the game. Great detail and lots of fun, :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

Very cool level! The gameplay was amazing, with the only minor problem being the buttons that didn't always work, it was obviously very well thought out. At no time did I get stuck without any idea of what to do. I liked how you used all the layers and how you go back through sections where you've already been but on a different path, I always like it when people do that.
The visual were also very good, reminds me of the construction section of the MM levels only a lot better, I actually thought it was made without DLC but then realized it uses Incredibles metal.

Over all an amazing level! 5 stars and a heart!

If you have time could you play my LittleBigSpace level? link in my sig.

- If possible, I would add more space before the first obstacle (or change camera), the first thing I did was run foward and die.
- Fix camera/magic mouth cam on button presses.
+ Love how the boxes fall and make a "splash", cool effect.
- The empty space between those 2 checkpoints feels weird.
- I can still collect some point bubbles from the chest without opening them, like in your last level. tisk, tisk.
+ Dual/folded gameplay of the hammer/box thing was cool.
+ Rising gas + buttons are fun.
- At the rising red glass/drag the box,I was able to make it through without the box. Had to pop.

I was expecting more small details like in the last level, but this way works too.
4 stars from me.
Great promo image btw.
I don't have any levels for f4f atm, but if you could just take a look at my sig link, that would be awesome.

Pretty neat level. I liked the style of the first one better, but I liked more things in this level then the first. I have to agree that the button needs a camera angel because at first I kept pressing it over and over and I didn't understand what it was doing. I am also pretty impressed on how you made the electric boxes get sucked up into the thingymajig, how did you do that? :o
Anyway, good level. It wasn't as "cubey" as the other level but still nice.

I gave it :star::star::star::star:.

Can you leave feedback on Farewell Ruins of the Moon: Chapter Two (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32039-Farewell-Ruins-of-the-Moon-Chapter-Two)? Thanks. Also, if you haven't played the first Farewell Ruins of the Moon, I recommend you do to understand what's going on.

Absolutely lovedd the obstacles in this level! The complex backtracking routes worked really well. I ran into one problem though - I fell out of the level at the second red gas plate by running to the right when it was up, because I didn't know what to do there. Apart from that, great level.2010-08-04 23:52:00

Another great cubeworld level. The mechanical obstacles are amazing and so does the architectural design. My favorite part of the level is trying to escape the cube lava chamber. Great fun and challenge. 5 stars and a heart.

Play and F4F "The Hero Chronicles LV5 Glacier Volcano".

=After I ride up the sign and swing across the hook, and after the part where you go up on the vertical... thingies... ahh... jump in, it takes you up, it goes down, you jump in, it goes up, you go up on the left side... there's two "treasure chests" and to the left of them, a hook. I grabbed on to the hook, it went down, and stopped. I swung around a bit, and, not entirely sure what it did, let go. I fell underneath your level... and had to do a huge chunk of it again.
=I loved the feel and look, but it didn't have the charm of the first, IMO.
=Like the last one, if you get just behind or just in front of the chests, you can get the points in them.
=During one of the later evil rising of the red glass, when you're given a block, I didn't push it through the door, thereby getting stuck in that little room.

I LOVE the red glass rising and being destructive, though. That is awesome. Also, the general polish and good platforming of the level is quite good. I enjoyed it considerably.

I give it :star::star::star::star: and a <3! Great job!

If you like, could you give feedback on my own level? Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy - Part I (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32124-Commander-Keen-Goodbye-Galaxy-Part-I). I hope you enjoy it!

Huzzah Spotlighted - Cheers all. Got some free time on my hands so starting the F4F tonight. Looking forward to playing your levels.

As for those bothersome chests... sadly they can't be fixed - The points will always activate from the outside due to how the game works. I can't think of another thermo friendly way of rewarding the player.

So churning canyons will be #4 and your better idea will be #3, right? I do wonder what your great idea is. First the sky, then the city.2010-08-10 00:01:00

Cool level - I really enjoyed playing it the other day. The gameplay is fun and varied with plenty to keep you on your toes. I particularly liked the rising red gas section - it really got the adrenalin going trying to get to safety on time. I also liked the way you hid the bubbles; finding them added an extra dimension to the gameplay.

The whole level design was well thought out and it looked great too with nice little touches like the charts and plans dotted around. Good use of sound effects too.

Well done on the Spotlight. Now I just need to go back and play the first level when I get a chance.

This level is awweesssooommmmeeeeee

By no means does it redefine the way we think and play LBP. It's just an clever, fun & polished level that I had an ton of fun playing. The actual scenarios you're put in are well designed and thought out. I'd rarely blame the level if I died since it was usually my fault. No jump was too big, No section was too unforgiving. It was easy to get into and play. My only complaint that it is really chaotic with other players. (I first tried with 4 people, we never made it past the first puzzle due to the way the puzzle was designed/built)

But overall it was an polished & clever level. 5 stars + Heart

For F4F could you please play: 'Killzone - Assault on Helgan'

this was great, genji. a big departure from your heist stuff... i'm starting to grow fond of these kind of extremely fun and well made, back to basics platformer levels that feel like they were thought up in 2008 but built with 2010 know how. i think i've also gotten tired of dialogue, lighting, and EPIC stuff - this is like when playing with physics in create was what lead to a level idea, and you knew you just needed to run, jump, and hurdle through fun contraptions to enjoy it.

i like the cube focus too, since everyone's MM style is starting to look the same to me, it felt original.

i never really nitpick, but you can collect a point in the chests just by touching the side, because the walls are so thin... messes up the combo if you don't jump on top immediately. no big deal though, just being constructive
