Use your PSEye as a Webcam for your PC
Archive: 14 posts
It has SUPERB quality, can capture 60fps, as well as use its built-in mic. It works like a charm. The process is REALLY simple. Here is the full post with details: http://alexpopovich.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/sony-ps3eye-camera-directshow-capture-source-filter/ The installer (also found in his post, down at the bottom) can be found for easier access here: http://www.codelaboratories.com/files/PS3EyeSetup.1.0b81008.exe You just install that, restart your PC, plug it in and voila! Enjoy! NOTE: I looked around and found nothing on this breaking the PSEye's Terms of Use, or any other sort of rule. If you find anything regarding that, please let me or any other mod know, we'll take the thread and links down. I just thought we could get the best out of our PSEye this way. :] | 2008-10-16 05:21:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |

Cool. I thought the PS Eye was only for PlayStation 3. So I can use it for Skype? I have yet to try it on Skype. EDIT: Just tried it. Works perfectly. Well, it did show on the video settings at least, as a preview. | 2008-10-16 05:25:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
about time someone made the driver for this, and no its not in any violation of anything. Just like how you can use the Sixaxis with a computer. | 2008-10-16 05:33:00 Author: Reshin Posts: 1081 |

can it work for a mac? I read somewhere it should work with most 32-bit Operating Systems, but I don't know for certain if it works on Macs. | 2008-10-16 06:12:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |

around how much do the eyetoys cost? i was wanting 1 for lbp? Why do you want an EyeToy? PlayStation Eye is much better. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=67155 $39.99 at GameStop. EDIT: Oh, woops. Thought you meant PSEye. Why does everybody want an EyeToy? I didn't even know that it was compatible with the PS3. Is it? Anyways, we should all move onto the PS Eye, along with the rest of the new generation. Hmmm.....I want to do this but I also want to use it for my PS3 as a mic. ARGH! Okay. I don't understand what you mean exactly. You can use it for both. What is it about using it on your computer that won't let you use it for your PS3? | 2008-10-16 17:35:00 Author: Unknown User |
