Working LAV III

Archive: 25 posts

The LAV III is a third generation Light Armoured Vehicle used primarily by Canada and New Zealand. America uses a variant called the Stryker.

Features:
Mostly made of wood so it's invulnerable to explosives.
Amphibious.
Interior logic and carefully positioned switches/emitters so minimal wires and other gubbins are visible in create mode.

Wow, this is amazing!

The vehicle handles those slopes really well, and it's fast to boot. I couldn't figure out how to fire the machine gun though, is it only a decoration?

Great detail work as always.

If you dont mind me asking, what materials/stickers do you use to make it look realistic? Oh, and you HAVE to make a war level utilizing all of your constructed veichles!2010-08-04 21:01:00

It's made from blue wood and regular cardboard. There are 3 different stickers for the camo and a couple more for the tires/MG.

Oh wow!, never really looked into your objects ayneh, that LAV looks amazing!, I did recently got into making APC's or BTR's (anyway, I just know them as armored vehicles with more than 6 wheels...), I just figured out that ive been using the same suspension that you use on your LAV (2 wheels connected by a thin piece that is attached in the middle to the chassis by a wobble bolt), It just looks amazing when going off road and gives the vehicle more life (the vehicle wobbles like as a real model, i love it!).2010-10-08 18:47:00

I'll leave that to the loads of Americans on LBP who make stuff from their own military. I want to make and popularise things from other countries.

I might make an M1 but only because it has the same hull and gun as the German MBTs which I want to make.

Here is a pic of one of my first successful BTR's or APC's or whatever,

Not amazingly detailed, but does the job, i try to come up with original designs all the time, why to limit yourself to the design of others?

Nice. Is it published?

I'm not sure I'm talented enough to design something myself. It would really bug me that I hadn't done something correctly. I need to know something inside-out before I can make it.

No, not published, (I usually just play with this ones with friends, anyway i can publish my 2 BTR's and some other tanks), here's another BTR i made a day ago.

*EDIT
I played with your LAV, its too small!, lol i thought it was waay bigger!, anyway its very cool!, the controller seat is very small tho!, and it looked like the wobble bolt on the 2 front wheels has some problems (it tends to lift the right wheel in up and the left wheel down, which means that the wobble bolt is not calibrated properly i think)

BTW, im making a showcase level for my APC, BTR and my tank, it will be online soon!
