I really enjoyed this. There was alot of variation in the gameplay and the design was crisp and clean. I especially liked the sequence as shown in the third photo. I would've liked the level to be a bit longer though! :kz: I suspect there's some thermo left! I gave it :star::star::star::star: and a <3 | 2010-07-31 23:36:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |

Updated the level with a few decorations and fixed some stuff | 2010-08-02 21:51:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
This was a really neat little platforming level. The gameplay was fun with plenty of variety and challenge without being frustrating. I loved the spinning wheels shown the small pic at the top of the OP and the fish secrets (I'd have liked even more of these!). It was a nice idea to add in a couple of races and by placing secrets in the first race you really gave players a dilemma as to whether to stop and get them or push on to finish the race faster. You said you concentrated on gameplay and not visuals but I thought the design of the level was great. There were some nice touches too like the lily pads and those two large decorated jars. It all looked good. I had a couple of issues though in playing through. One was that every time I did the race at the end, at least once and sometimes twice in a row, I was launched into the water instead of landing on the opposite glass slope. This obviously meant I couldn't finish the race in time. I tried jumping differently and not jumping at all just letting gravity do the work and it didn't seem to make any difference I still ended up getting wet, lol! The other thing was at the point after the two decorated jars where a moving platform swings you over to the checkpoint my instinct was always to jump from the platform as it approached the checkpoint but this meant I landed behind the checkpoint instead of on the platform in front and died. That did come close to being frustrating. It may be though that this was a deliberate trap in which case ignore me! Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing this level. Good job. | 2010-08-04 20:22:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |

Wow thanks for all the feedback I noticed the thing with second race, I fixed it now though (hopefully, lol). The platform near the jar got some invisible gas, that I just noticed now when I played trough the level, I had put it too close. I'll fix it right away! Thanks again! | 2010-08-04 21:43:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
As I told you in that quite random chat room, I played it and loved it. A clean and simple Islands level with genious level design. What's not to like? :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 | 2010-08-04 21:47:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |

What's not to like? :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 Hehe, thanks Talbot! And that was indeed an random chat room ---------------------------------------------------------- Updates: I added an sensor switch near the jars connected to an checkpoint so if you'd die you'll re-spawn at the checkpoint after the wobble platforms. I fixed the bounce thing in the last race so you won't come out of the level. And I deleted an random piece of wood that was floating around | 2010-08-04 21:54:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
c'mon this level gotta be on LBPC Cool Levels! When you said it didn't had any story, I was afraid it would be bland....I WAS WRONG! It was lovely for the beginning to the end. I often have a hard time thinking about great gameplay in my levels and this one is by far your better in terms of fun. The visuals we're simple but stylized at the same time. Oh and I noticed the usual Jellyfishes :star::star::star::star: and a lovely <3 | 2010-08-05 03:04:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |

Have you fixed that part where you can escape the level yet!? You'd better have!!! :kz: | 2010-08-05 14:44:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
Wait... I haven't posted here yet? O_o Sorry I thought I had. Anyway, I helped test this level, and I was also there when Alec took the pictures for the level (I'm the turkey with the googly eyes, druid beard and frying pan on the OP ) so you can guess I've played this a few times, yet, it's still great fun to play through, it's got great gameplay ideas and even though you mentioned you tried to work more on gameplay, the visuals are still very nice. :star::star::star::star::star: <3 (except whenever I heart levels recently it's not been working ) This post has promoted the thread to cool levels. EDIT: /sniped Aww, Rhys got the 20th post, his post moved it to cool levels then.... | 2010-08-05 14:48:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

WHY HAVE I NOT REPLIED ALREADY. :kz: This level is fun and brilliant (fubrillant) and I laughed when I came out of the temple thinking that that would just be it and there would be the scoreboard: BUT NO! You just had to make me lose all my points on the wobble platforms. I found on the fish secrets, and I was generally happy with the feel of the level. Perhaps add some sort of blue material just to liven things up? Like blue wood or arabian tiles... Just felt too greeny brown for me. I gave it 5 stars and a big fart heart. Hiya- I forgot to post here, but I recently played the finished product of this and I'm impressed! Nice, soothing visuals, and platforming with just the right amount of difficulty. Nice work! I rated the level :star::star::star::star::star:. | 2010-08-08 22:16:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
