The TomBurk Layer Glitch (The Third Layer)

The TomBurk Layer Glitch
[The Third Layer]

----------------------------------
How to add the third layer

Place a one-layer thick block in the furthest back layer
Place a thin layer block in the furthest forward layer
Capture the two objects together
Go to an emitter and choose to emit your captured object
When choosing where to emit, press the "L" button to move the object backward.
When the object is emitted, the thick layer will now be in a new 3rd layer!

-----------------------------
Troubleshooting

The PSP crashes when I place the third layer item
This is usually because you've done the glitch incorrectly. Make sure you've emitted the captured object and not just place it straight from your pop-it as this can cause problems. Generally this problem will occur due to this.

If I press "L" then the object moves back only one layer, but the back layer isn't in the third layer
You probably haven't got the correct captured object. Make sure you have one thick layer in the back layer, and a thin layer in the furthest forward layer.

I cannot corner edit my third layer
You must emit the object you want into the final layer if you want to be able to corner edit the item. It is recommended you do it this way anyway because it is less likely to crash the PSP.

Why can't I place a thin layer in front of the item
If you emit the 3rd layer then it is, so far, impossible to place a back thin layer. If you have just placed the item, then a thin layer is still placeable in front of it, although you cannot corner edit the third layer in this way.

-----------------------
About the third layer

The third layer first came to view due to TomBurk in his level 3 Layer Glitch and later was revealed in his 3 Layer Glitch Tutorial level.
The layer is purely for visual uses, as the sackboy cannot interact at all with this level. It is similar in to the Bakscratch 50 layer/3D glitch in many respects, except it is only found in a single layer form.
Although seemingly a third layer, it is in fact just the back thin layer, made into a thick layer.

N.B. This was originally just a post in the level thread for TomBurk's 3rd Layer Glitch level, but I've had a couple of people ask me how to do it now, and I want it to be clearly known.
Also note that this is in no way at all my glitch, I merely wrote up some facts and the explaination.

This glitch is awesome! I've recently found out about it and have been fooling around with it. I think it will be great for making caves, you will be able to use one or two thick layers to make it look more realistic and still have one or two paths inside it.

I've also found another glitch through this glitch as well, and I FOUND IT THE FOLLOWING GLITCH, SO NO CREDIT STEALERS! It is to make sackboy immobile.
1. swap in an entrance farthest back instead of the thick layer farthest back. Make everything dynamic.
2. repeat the third layer glitch above.
3. If the game is unpaused the emitted objects fall through
4. now use the retry button
5. Sackboy is put back onto the screen in the first motion he comes out of the entrance in frozen forever. The entrance noise also go on forever.

the immobilizing glitch is by ME! No credit stealers!

That sounds pretty useless... I'm pretty sure no one will try to steal it

That glitch is easy just capture an entrance, place the captured entrance, delete the one you had before, chnage to play mode, retry and it stuffs up. {Claiming sequence completed}2010-08-14 22:06:00

I was smart and made a block with the emitter on it as an object. So, now all i need to do is take out the object, unpause for a sec, pause again, and delete the object.

It is really quick and easy.
