edit the story levels?

Archive: 17 posts

I remember an interview where it was mentioned that players could copy levels from the story mode onto the my moon and then edit the levels. I forgot to try this in the beta though. Anybody attempt to do this? Was this functionality available?2008-10-15 22:54:00

Not in the beta because not every level in The Gardens was available.

I believe you have to 100% a world and unlock all the challenges in order to edit them.

Couldn't you just copy them and send them to MyMoon? I thought that I saw Copy there, course I can't test it myself now...

I can't copy any of the levels in the full-game. Which is disappointing for me, because sometimes I want to see how they've done things...
And yes, I have 100%ed whole level groups, unlocking all the levels in them.

Well, I don't know about the story levels, but in the beta I did copy Sweet Child O' Mine to My Moon, made it dark, and made the vehicle reversible. 2008-10-16 00:41:00

Confirmation. Even upon finishing the single player mode, you cannot copy MM's levels directly. Those of you who created levels in the beta using a template may realise some levels are fairly familiar to you. This is because the templates are one of each of the story levels without contraptions and objects inside them. So 1/3rd of the levels are "available" to view without contraptions, and then, if you have unlocked the prizes, they are placeable back in.

It's not a bad system, don't get me wrong, but it's not quite up to the claim that you can copy and of the in game levels and pick them apart.

That's really odd, I went to the pop up shop in london yesterday and there was an option that said "Copy To Pod" underneath "Play level" on MM's levels :S it was an old build of the game so i'm kinda confused why they removed it!2008-10-20 15:47:00

Maybe they'll add it back to a patch later on. Or something like that. Bugs and stuff...2008-10-20 18:14:00

Yeah i'm pretty sure this will only be available when online. I know it's on this disk but only when you were online could you access the Publish, copy, delete bit (I Think??? lol)
Thats what i think will happen anyway. They have spoken about this so many times throughout the development and i think they will have kept it.

Yeah, if they don't include it, we'll write MM many angry letters until they patch it in.2008-10-21 11:09:00

Yea, but if you'll remember, Alex Evans also said his favorite danger tool was Ice... See that in the game anywhere (It was my favorite tool too )

This is true (and also my favorite tool, hence why I asked what happened to it in the MM questions thread).

Additionally, I believe if you couold "Copy" any of the levels, some of them would make little sense without the objects in. And MM won't let you copy the levels with objects because this will leave it pointless trying to get 100% completion.

Well, Tyler did say about the score challenges. Has anybody completed the game 100% and beaten all the score challenges? Perhaps its like, a full 100% only bonus?2008-10-21 17:17:00
