Look at the first screen. Certain colored switches respond to certain color keys within the level. VERY COOL!

This just opens up things even more!

(Sorry if this has already been announced. I see just about everything for this game, and I havdn't seen this before)

Cool. Not ground-breaking, but really adds a new dimension. Really cool.2008-07-29 21:25:00

For me it kinda is ground-breaking.... makes many levels i think of more possible!
You wouldn't believe how handy colour coordinated switches come in when i was making levels on timesplitters 2/3.

EDIT: good find Harrisment, i also didn't know pink rubber floated in game! awesome!

The idea of the keys themselves dates back to the beginning of platformers and FPS games, but just the fact that they have added yet another gameplay element is such awesome news.

You really can make whatever you want!

here's a great example....
So you come to a door.... but it's locked! you need the Red Key to get in! oh noez... you have no Red Key.... wait! what's that up those stairs... over the fire... past the swinging ropes... and under the stomping platform... why it's the Red Key!! So up you go to collect it... then back down you come to open it using the Red Key! adding another 5 mins or so to your level with little effort, while staying fun

just imagine all the fun you could have having loads of different colour doors/keys.

Awesome... hmm could you recreate Klonoa levels then? I love that game!

You'd have to change the enemies though so that there's a bouncy thing on top of them as opposed to Klonoa where you leapfrog to go higher.

And some of the more complex enemies may be difficult (but possible) to do...

That's always been my problem with keys. Some levels have....too many. Maybe that's why I don't think this is huge.

I remember the good ol' days...where every door needed a keycard.

Yeah, the glass better be breakable. If you did it with your Sackboy, though, (say, launching him from a catapult) would he get cut and start bleeding fuzz?2008-07-29 23:50:00
