3D glitch + Water=???
Archive: 4 posts
Ok, so I have heard and probably read somewhere that when 3d objects fall into water, or touches it, the PS3 freezes or corrupts itself. And now, in one of my level ideas I want to have a 3d landscape with water. But I have no intention to lose my PS3 for another 2 months again, so I want to be sure. Therefore, I won't try either before I got proof. You don't want to stand at the side of a timed bomb the 1st of April and try to decide it is a joke or not. There is probably a thread here somewhere containing the information, so any links will be appreciated, along with own experiences! <3 | 2010-07-31 12:17:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
There are plenty of levels that use that glitch and water at the same time, so having long objects touch water does not really seem to be a problem. | 2010-07-31 12:20:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
I've heard that too, but not experienced it myself. However, you're perfectly fine using the glitched layers in water so long as they're glued to dark matter. I think it's probably something to do with the game being unable to calculate the physics of the glitched layers when they come into contact with water which causes the crash. | 2010-07-31 12:21:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
Logic island, sack 5-1 and 6-1 all use 3d glitch and water, And ankor sack tops that with having 40% of its level in glitchlayers and water. just make sure your 3d glitch stuff is glued to dm/contains dm. though.. ive had glitch layer stuff fall in my water without any crashes so far. | 2010-07-31 13:33:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
