Return of the Red Eyetsr13
Escape imprisonment and face the Empire's rebuilt battle station! (Episode VI in the Star Bores saga.)
Venture onwards into the Star Bores universe as you awaken to find yourself at the mercy of a hideous captor. Battle pint-sized bounty hunters, escape a smelly dungeon, and hitch a ride across the desert on unnecessarily fancy floating thingies. Finally free of your bonds, you end up at a housewarming party in the woods and meet the Empire's slightly senile leadership along the way.

At long last I'm done with the third "original trilogy" Star Bores level. This took very long to plan as I was mostly out of ideas after Episode V. Once I started coming up with concepts I ran out of time to actually create them, and before I knew it almost four months had passed. At the 90% mark of the build my profile corrupted on me, but thankfully I had a backup file and so was up and running again relatively quickly. As usual, I overbuilt this level and had to end up taking quite a bit of stuff out just to make it all fit within the confines of the thermo; perhaps I'll put together a survival level or something with the spare parts I've collected.

A HUGE thanks to amazingflyingpoo, jeffcu28, and ali985 who beta tested this level for me weeks ago before it was even close to being complete. Their feedback was essential to the final product. Thanks!

I had fun building this level and even gave myself the giggles from time to time when it struck me exactly how silly everything was... but I wouldn't have it any other way. Have fun and thanks for playing!

EDIT: Thanks to Domik12 for the awesome video!

Wow, that was fast! Thanks for the quick feedback everyone.

Let me just say that it feels REALLY good to get this one published. I've had had a ridiculously busy summer and it's been very disappointing personally to keep you all waiting this long for another level.

I aint rubbing those feet ill let the bounty hunters kill me instead LOL! This was definitely werth the wait great job! It was really funny from start to finish AND LOOKED AMAZING!Thanks Sketch! I finally found a use for that hairy foot sticker from the Sack that Time Forgot pack.

i had to finish my popsicle before i played because i knew i was just going to choke on it laughing poor wittle ewok guys lolHaha, yeah I had fun being sadistic towards the end there. But remember, Ewoks are EVIL!

made me Giggle though the hole thing:That's all I needed to hear! Mission accomplished.

Edit: oh and you have to play and leave feedback on my level now lol!F4F on the way!

F4F for Aztec Embers on the way!

Wow, and yesterday I thought you were finished with Star Bores.NEVER! I can't blame you though - I'm sure a lot of people were wondering if I was going to finish the series. Of course I'm happy to report that I followed through and completed the trilogy! Now I just have to decide if I'm going to do the first three episodes....

I finished the level just before the PSP ran out of battery!! Phew!!
Anyway this has to be in the Top 10 funniest LBP PSP levels.
Oh yeah and give the ewoks a break XD LOL

EDIT: Also it was abit short, Or is it just me?Hahaha, well thanks Joruto. I'm definitely happy with a top 10 finish in the goofball category. And yes, it is a bit short but there's really not lots to be done about it unfortunately. I always enjoy making ships and scenery... too much so sometimes. The end result is a level that is probably a little shorter than it needs to be, but as long as it looks good and is somewhat amusing I'm happy.

Thanks for playing!

Hey Taffey, you make a me laughy
What ? Ididn't know you were working on another Star Bores, awesome! First thing I have to mention is...the modeling! Dude, nobody makes a Star Wars prop like you on PSP, NOBODY!!! The imperial ship in particular impressed the heck out of me, especially the front on angle when you land on Endor. Sweet! Anyway, a nerdgasm later, I actually played the level, and the Force was strong with this one. As usual, the dialogue was great, and I chuckled out loud everytime Chewbacca made the annoying growl. Good stuff. I laughed at Princees Leia, but wish you'd actually used the bathing suit sticker to make her more spot on. Thats the only nit pick you'll get in this feedback, lol. Story was a good interpretation, and had funny original content. I did feel it was shorter than the rest, but quality counts here, not quantity. Waiting for The Fandom Menace.

This level is amazingly mega ultra überfantastically awesome! I had a blast playing this from start to finish. I just love your style. I was especially tickled in a few parts but the best for me was "Endorable". I had quite a few laughs and really enjoy your scenery; especially your sticker work. I can't believe how great everything you make looks. Your vehicles, characters and environments are always top tier. Thank you for this amazing level. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a <3!2010-07-31 23:09:00

It's finally here! Gonna play it right now!

Edit: Just played it and it was great! Man, it must take so long for you to build every single one of those vehicles and everything but man it's work it! This is a great level! The end was hilarious with the teddy bears and everything. That made smile and whatnot. The level was great and the visuals were top notch! Keep up the good work man!

Five stars and a heart.

Hey Taffey,

This was a pleasant surprise to see. Actually I saw it earlier but I thought, what a strange name for a level and who is trs13? lol That’s funny because your tsr13, as I knew you then, levels helped quell my fears about the community levels when I first picked up LBP. They were the perfect mix of design and play.

Its kind of fitting that this came up because RotRE is by far my favorite playing of the series. It flowed all the way through until the end. There were some great combos that required a little thought to plan out. The hazards were engaging and work so well with your amazing visuals.

About those, its very clear that you painstakingly craft your ships and crafts. The sand crafts(name?) and the imperial ship were great. I also want to say that, besides all your creations that jump out and scream quality, the extra little details you put into every area in your levels make it so easy to get lost in the level. The subtle sounds helped as well.

Great Job Tarffsey13! 5 :star:s and a <3

Holy heck this was a great level man. I love the openings to your levels. That music you use for the Star Bores and your Space Corp levels will forever be the Taffey song to me. When I hear that music in anyone's levels, but yours, it just doesn't seem right to me..... is that wrong? Hahaha!!

Anyways, this is another masterful level by the master. Oh, back to the opening, the shot of Jabba's palace with the two suns is beautiful. Your designs are the best, there is no doubt. God, I can't look at the princess without going into a fit of the giggles, every time Luke opens his pie hole, or Chewie lets out a yelp, its the same deal. You entertain me dude. The platforming segment on Jabba's barges was so sweet, I think I might have another cavity, thanks man!!

I love your character designs too, your stickering is legendary, the Emperor looked awesome, I loved how you used the nose stickers to make the wrinkles on his face. His dialogue was priceless too, reminded me of my gramps. I am so glad you make these fun levels for us to play.

I am sure you have been asked and answered this, but do you plan on doing the prequels too?

Another heart!! <3

Later Buddy!!

What ? Ididn't know you were working on another Star Bores, awesome!kaiju! Hey man! Of course I made another Star Bores level - I couldn't possibly disappoint you by ending the series with Episode V could I?

First thing I have to mention is...the modeling! Dude, nobody makes a Star Wars prop like you on PSP, NOBODY!!! Good stuff. I laughed at Princees Leia, but wish you'd actually used the bathing suit sticker to make her more spot on. Thats the only nit pick you'll get in this feedback, lol.Well I'm glad you had an enjoyable Star Wars experience! I figure if I'm going to take liberties with the story I should at least pay homage to the set pieces. I really did think about using the bathing suit sticker, but the only problem is that the sticker I use for the body is wearing a long dress already, so it didn't look very good. The leg stickers for Robbo on the other hand work very well as clothing, and they're metallic as well so I went with those. But hey, good feedback!

Story was a good interpretation, and had funny original content. I did feel it was shorter than the rest, but quality counts here, not quantity. Waiting for The Fandom Menace. Thanks for the review kaiju! The more I think about doing the prequels the more I like the idea.

This level is amazingly mega ultra überfantastically awesome! I had a blast playing this from start to finish. I just love your style. Thank you for this amazing level. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a <3!Hey Captain! Thanks so much for the glowing feedback and kind words - I really appreciate it. I'm really glad you thought everything was funny, as I spent more time worrying about that aspect than anything else.

Just played it and it was great! Man, it must take so long for you to build every single one of those vehicles and everything but man it's work it!Heh, that pretty much sums up my create process perfectly. I really do spend too much time on the little details that most people would never see, but if *I* know it's not done right then it'll just bug me forever. And so I'm happy to sit there for hours making sure that there's the same number of seams on the wings of a Lambda Shuttle in my level as there is in the movie. Every vehicle or scenery piece pretty much equates to one calendar day. The Emperor/Grandpa took me I think 4 days before I was actually happy with how he looked.

This is a great level! The end was hilarious with the teddy bears and everything. That made smile and whatnot. The level was great and the visuals were top notch! Keep up the good work man!

Five stars and a heart.Much appreciated eager, and I'm especially pleased to hear you share my same sick sense of teddy bear squishing humor.

This was a pleasant surprise to see. Actually I saw it earlier but I thought, what a strange name for a level and who is trs13? lol That?s funny because your tsr13, as I knew you then, levels helped quell my fears about the community levels when I first picked up LBP. They were the perfect mix of design and play.Wow Xenon, that's a massive compliment. I respect you as one of the very top creators in the game (especially as demonstrated in your last level!), so that really means a lot to me!

Its kind of fitting that this came up because RotRE is by far my favorite playing of the series. It flowed all the way through until the end. There were some great combos that required a little thought to plan out. The hazards were engaging and work so well with your amazing visuals. The gameplay is something I struggle so much with - it's a very difficult thing for me to think of naturally. I played lots of VelcroJonze and jackofcourse levels for platforming inspiration during the create process, and of course Ted & Robi was still fresh in my mind as well so that really helped. I did consider having a creature-based cooperative thing with an Ewok or a droid but I couldn't get my stuff to where it played as well as yours.

They're Bantha II Cargo Skiffs, but don't worry if you didn't know that - I had to look it up as well. I was going to do Jabba's sail barge originally but those better suited the type of platforming I wanted to use.

Thank you for the feedback Xenon!

Holy heck this was a great level man.VJ! Thanks for the plays and the writeup. By now you've probably seen me blabbing everywhere about how I played your levels when I got stuck on gameplay issues, and I want to assure you that's totally true. In fact, Timber Canyons II popped up on the showcase right when I was (almost) beating my head on the desk trying to come up with ways of incorporating platforming. Your stuff is always fresh and entertaining and it really helps me channel my inner Mario.

I love the openings to your levels. That music you use for the Star Bores and your Space Corp levels will forever be the Taffey song to me. When I hear that music in anyone's levels, but yours, it just doesn't seem right to me..... is that wrong? Hahaha!! LOL That's awesome. I was just thinking that I rely too heavily on that song for my levels... But then again it really works for me! I guess that if it ain't broke, I shouldn't fix it right?

Anyways, this is another masterful level by the master. Oh, back to the opening, the shot of Jabba's palace with the two suns is beautiful. Your designs are the best, there is no doubt. God, I can't look at the princess without going into a fit of the giggles, every time Luke opens his pie hole, or Chewie lets out a yelp, its the same deal. You entertain me dude. The platforming segment on Jabba's barges was so sweet, I think I might have another cavity, thanks man!!

His dialogue was priceless too, reminded me of my gramps. I am so glad you make these fun levels for us to play.I've said it before and I'll say it again: Coming from you that really means a lot. Well your levels have all earned permanent spots on my PSP for their unparalleled ability to entertain, so I'm happy to return the favor man.

I am sure you have been asked and answered this, but do you plan on doing the prequels too?Yeah, I am definitely getting loads of questions about this, and I dare say the answer is probably yes. In the process of creating the original trilogy I have come up with a few concepts and ideas for the prequels, so I do believe that they'll become a reality. I've already figured out by chance what Anakin will look like, so that's a start at least. Now I just need to come up with a way to do the pod race.

Thanks VJ, you're awesome!

Yet another amazing star bores level.

Story: 10/10
Great! I love all of these because they are humorously-based on Star Wars.

Music/SFX Choice: 8/10
Music/SFX were great but I didn't really like the choice for the woods, it didn't seem to fit in just right.

Corner Editing/Material Use: 10/10
Amazing. Materials look awesome together and Corner editing is phenomenal.

Creatures/Objects: 9/10
They all look cool, even some based on Star Wars. I really liked the death star

Gameplay: 10/10
I love how tsr13 mixes story into gameplay, it's all original and has his signature spacey kind of thing. It was really fun and pleasing to play.

Overall: 9.4/10 (not an average)
Sure I don't think this is your best Star Bores, but it's still really fun and great. I gave you :star::star::star::star::star:.

F4F: It'd be great if you'd check out my Patapon level. It's in my sig.

Story - 10/10: An excellent and humorous parody to "Return of the Jedi"

Characters 10/10: Your sticker work on the characters are fantastic. Especially the quality of Darth Later's helmet.

Visuals 10/10: Truly magnificent. You did a great job on using some of the Turbo! pack objects in the Dull Star.

Dialogue 10/10: <<<< Of course you would get that score. Your grammar is humurous and indeed perfect.

Gameplay 9/10: The level was short and fast. I hardly felt that there was enough gameplay.

Fun Factor: Did I have fun with this level? Yes! The visuals and environment are enjoyable in their own ways. I had a blast just looking at them.

Things to notice: The details that you put on the ships and walkers are awesome and a thing people should really pay attention to.

Ending Statement: What can I say? Star Wars, Star Bores, and you are awesome.

You got yourself :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

Ok this level was AMAZING!!(As previously stated by everyone else!)
I absolutely loved it how you made the Imperial shuttle open and close it's wings as it took of from the Dull Star(which BTW looked AMAZING!!) and landed on teddy moon!! You have to put that into our LBPCentral Manual PSP as a vehicle tutorial!!

How come Ali's leaving? Is he moving to the greatest country on earth?? AUSTRALIA!!! (Sorry to all you non-Aussies, but it's the truth from my seat!!! LOL JOKES!!)

Keep up the good work! Oh and a survival level or mini game would be excellent for you to make!

Hi, tsr13. WOW. You finally published new level from this amazing saga! I played it right now and have much fun with all it's parts. As usual you did great visual part with very cool humor story. And also there are so many very enjoyable details! I love it! Very nice creation. And also you created many cool characters - you confirmed one more time that you are the Master of Stickers . I almost start to weep when I understood that this fun level is close to it's end. AAAAA!!! I want more and more and more! Give me another part of this tasty cake!!!!

I of course gave you 5 stars and heart for this level! Thank you for all your hard work and it is very cool that we have such great creator as you!

Sorry, CyberSora. In this video there is too high volume level (I forgot to turn off bust volume option before recording). Maybe a little bit latter I will normalize volume and then re-upload this video.

Without you or Amazingflyingpoo, I would probably off this site no longer creating levels and moving on. Though, you two have been a very big inspiration and I am now a very known creator. Now that I'm done with my introduction, let's get down to business.

I have to say I like the intro already. I didn't understand the teddybears, and I thought you just wanted to add something random. Then I later figure out why. Those bears replaced the Ewoks. D: I like how the introduction shows the setting being took place at. I like the beginning, and the princess is freaking me out. Some more clone warriors that are detailed heads. Sticker work is already doing fantastic and I love the theme. It reminds me of Star Wars again. I thought you would implement that one creature in the cage, but I guess not. Though, it does not bother me because this level is awesome enough.

Your vehicles still look as awesome as ever. Your sound effects blend well into your level. I also see you have added the sand creature into the level. You used an emitter too... I think... The sand creature disappeared on me because I left to grab a quick snack and noticed it was gone. I liked the joke about the dark side, it made me laugh. I like how you gave the new death star (Or whatever you called it) a construction feeling to it. I felt like I was playing a broken but fixed level. Grandpa's force powers made me laugh. His fingers in the outlet?! XD Original if you ask me. Did I forget to mention the pants part. You have a very good sense of humor, Taffey.

Now off to the land of the Ewoks or Teddybears in this case. The place is on fire, with an unknown reason. Death Star is destroyed because of our very secured Grandpa. I wasn't expecting that to happen. What ever happen to Luke too? He disappeared again. Anyways, ending looked liked you kind of just wanted to get the level over with. The level was very humorous and marvelous. I had no signifincent problems with my playthrough. Everuthing ran smooth. Now that I'm done, I'll go on and give you your rating, Taffey.

Length: 5/5 (Decent length and fun playthrough.)
Material Usage: 5/5 (Nice use of materials for the theme of each planet.)
Sticker Work: 5/5 (Your sticker work is awesome and makes easy eye candy.)
Corner Editing: 5/5 (Your corners are sharp and absolute.)
Terrain/Mechanics: 5/5 (The obstacles were common, but your terrain ROCKED!)
Story: 5/5 (Your story has so much humor; it makes me laugh out loud in public too.)

Total: 30/30 Perfect Score!!

You are not only a funny creator, but a very vivid creator.
Overall, 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. <3

Best to meet each other again,
-Spark

Whew, I am WAY behind on responding to feedback. I'm not going to quote absolutely everything that everybody has posted, but I'll definitely hit the high points.

The level was OUTSTANDING and really fun! Your sticker work was amazing and your scenery. I had few laughs and i enjoyed the level really much. I gave it 5 stars and heart. I cant wait for the next star bores level. Thanks himoks! Glad you had fun with it. More Star Bores levels will eventually be on the way.

Overall: 9.4/10 (not an average)
Sure I don't think this is your best Star Bores, but it's still really fun and great. I gave you :star::star::star::star::star:.

F4F: It'd be great if you'd check out my Patapon level. It's in my sig. Thanks for the extremely detailed review valmassoi - I really like the format that seems to be going around the forums. I played your Patapon level and loved it - I'll leave you F4F momentarily.

Things to notice: The details that you put on the ships and walkers are awesome and a thing people should really pay attention to.

Ending Statement: What can I say? Star Wars, Star Bores, and you are awesome.Haha, no you're awesome. You did mention that the level is a bit on the short side, and you're correct. I need to spend more time studying levels by the one and only amazingflyingpoo and the legendary GruntosUK for ways to incorporate backtracking.

I'm happy to see you mention the details, as those are the parts of the level I find most personally satisfying. Ah, shading stickers. I love shading.

OMG!! OMG!!

Ok this level was AMAZING!!(As previously stated by everyone else!)
I absolutely loved it how you made the Imperial shuttle open and close it's wings as it took of from the Dull Star(which BTW looked AMAZING!!) and landed on teddy moon!! You have to put that into our LBPCentral Manual PSP as a vehicle tutorial!!Much appreciated brimo! And in case I haven't told you before, it's great to see you here on LBPC. As for the tutorial, that's a good suggestion - I might just have to put one together.

Hi, tsr13.

Thank you for all your hard work and it is very cool that we have such great creator as you!The whole reason I make levels is for feedback just like this. I know you're a big Star Wars fan and grew up with the movies just like I did. I'm really glad you enjoyed all the little details and other bits and pieces that I baked into this cake. You're a great member of the community Domik and I promise to visit the kitchen again soon to bake you another cake.

Oh, and thanks for the AWESOME video!

WOW!
This is amazing level Taffey, like all your levels. I enjoy it from start to the end. Your characters are very nice. (My favorite is Darth Later.)
I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 and I look forward to another your level.

PS: I am sorry, that I am so late, but I wasn't at home. Thanks for playing Honza! I'm a bit late replying to all my reviews as well, so don't worry about the delay.

EDIT2:
Ok now I played it... AWESOME!
I really liked the visuals, great as always
The jokes were unexpected and genious, I seriously laughed at some of them

Umm, I'm pretty sure everyone else said so much that you must be tired of reading, so I'll just say that I rated it
:star::star::star::star::star: and <3 Hahaha, good stuff napero! I can think of no better reward than to know there's at least one other person in Imagisphere who thinks my jokes are funny. And for the record, I never get tired of all the outstanding feedback everyone leaves. Best. Community. EVER! :hero:

But now that you're here I'm ok.

Seriously though, that really means a lot Spark. I remember playing your levels during the early days of the game and I even posted them in our recommendations thread. It was great to have you show up on LBPC and it's even better that you're still here. You're an inspiration to a lot of people yourself, including me!

I thought you would implement that one creature in the cage, but I guess not. Though, it does not bother me because this level is awesome enough.Ah, the Rancor. Yes, I very much wanted to include him (her?) but it just never happened. I actually got stuck really bad at that part of the level trying to figure out how to implement him, so instead I just started creating other parts of the level. I had most of the parts of the rest of the level finished by the time I realized I wouldn't have enough thermo, so I left him out. Creating can be painful sometimes, no doubt.

I also see you have added the sand creature into the level. You used an emitter too... I think... The sand creature disappeared on me because I left to grab a quick snack and noticed it was gone. Good catch! Yes, I did use an emitter for the sand creature (sarlacc). If you die and respawn the creature will re-emit with a lifespan of 60 seconds. I did this for a couple of reasons: First, wobble bolts are VERY picky and the only simple way I've found of dealing with them is to create a captured object that contains them and emit it when necessary. This prevents the bolts from drifting and/or changing their settings as you save and reload the level. The second reason I did this was to reduce lag in the level. The sarlacc only shows up while you're in that section of the level and so helps keep things running smoothly.

Did I forget to mention the pants part. You have a very good sense of humor, Taffey.LOL Well, what can I say? Grandpa is sort of a self-portrait of what I expect I'll be like when I'm his age. [insert old man joke by jeffcu28 here]

What ever happen to Luke too? He disappeared again. Anyways, ending looked liked you kind of just wanted to get the level over with.I wasn't ready to finish the level, but that darned thermo sure was. I did actually have Luke and Chewy at the very end of the level, but I felt that they spoiled the timing of the last joke a little bit and so just left them out.

Total: 30/30 Perfect Score!! Holy sh... Ehm, I mean wow! Perfect score??? Thanks so much for such an excellent and detailed review! You've really got me inspired to work on my next project Spark - I already have some ideas swirling around in my head.

A VERY BIG thanks to all of you for playing my level and taking the time to leave me such detailed feedback here. You rock!

Is there a point to this thread? Taffey's levels are automatically awesome. I loved them before I was on LBPC to the point where I used to check twice a day if you published a new level. I played all your levels at least five times each and hope you continue making more levels. Your still my favorite creator (then there's always amazingflyingpoo )2010-08-27 22:56:00
