Ferrari 250 GTO with working engine!

Archive: 40 posts

Here are some pictures of my favourite out of my cars collection, it is my most detailed car to date with working pistons your probably thinking im taking the piston (thanks MrsV for that) but im not . It is done with 2 out of the 3 layers.... and here it is!2010-07-30 13:35:00

Having seen this car in the flesh I can safely say it's the best looking car I've ever seen in LBP. It looks almost real.

The pictures are great but don't do it justice at all. It even has working pistons which aren't seen unless it's taken apart. How's that for attention to detail. Even the exhaust manifold is a work of art ! It also has racing seats with perfect looking and expertly positioned 4-point harnesses.

One word to describe this car is one that's used in far too many instances but is truly deserved in this case and that is: AWESOME!!

Superb work geddez.

Oh I forgot to mention the wheels. How could I forget those. Amazing wire wheels. How he got them so detailed without the material going all distorted or vanishing completely as it always does for me I've no idea.2010-07-30 15:46:00

Beautiful. The first thing I thought was that it looked liked the Ferrari Daytona. Is that the same car? Maybe a race version? I thought you might know.2010-07-30 17:10:00

Apart from been produced at the same time as the daytona they have nothing else in common (maybe the 1960's style was implanted into both) the GTO was a racing version of the ferrari 250's and so is got the same engine chassis and probably styling as the others (thank god for wikipedia lol)2010-07-30 17:24:00

Amazing detail! And you made the engine pistons work? You're obsessed. I'd love to see it in a level. Even if you can't fit anything else in the level, it'd be worth a play just to see the car.2010-08-01 23:45:00

Excellent attention to detail. I'm equally amazed by the rims as Mistervista. How on earth did you manage to get the rims to be that small without the spokes going invisible or disappearing? Is it a sticker? I can't think of how I would get any material to be that small and detailed.2010-08-04 22:25:00

I'd definitely be interested in a level where I could test drive this. The gradient stickering to make the body panels appear curved looks fantastic. Maybe you could add a scenic overlook where we could park and take photos. 2010-08-04 22:43:00

This looks like a very nice car, if I may say so you should make this technique for some modern cars aswell. I am not too great with car history but I think I am not the only one who would like to see a ferrari or a lamboghini in the flesh 2010-08-05 02:10:00

in answer to both your questions i have made a few cars using this sort of technique for a lambo, a pagani and a audi all uploaded in objects i've also made some other cars like this but those are secret for the time been.

[QUOTE]Maybe you could add a scenic overlook where we could park and take photos./QUOTE]

ye that would be good maybe around the Italian lakes which are near moderna, Ferrari's base

Made a tutorial on how to do the rims. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=32273-How-to-make-sweet-rims-for-your-cars)
