(Developer's plan) Logic Pack

Hello everyone. This is the developer thread for the LittleBigPlanet Central Logic Pack. At th emoment, this thread is aimed at the construction of the Beginner Pack, but this may change as the series develop. As you may be aware, I am working on a tester level, an area where we can decide which elements are suitable for the level. Everyone's help is appreciated, as this is a community project.

Thread guidelines:
Please do not post feedback on this thread, there is a seperate thread for that. This is to ensure that everything is organised, which will help when trying to locate information I will need for the construction.
This thread is for posting information about additions to the project I.e. comign up with a new theme or character.

I just played the level and it's amazing! I just have one suggestion. Make the sponge cube out of the circle paintbrush so it was round edges. It makes it easier to move out of pockets like in the OR switch. Also, tell me what you think about my theme I made. Keep up the good work!

Hi people, Update is availible (.V.1.15)
This one has differed from the last because the theme has changed.
Differences to previous version
- I have adopted Dragonember's theme, you can now see it in the level
- Backgrouind is now alpine and music is now "On Time" by Stereo de Luxe. It's all keeping to a theme
- Eagerneph mentioned there were too few checkpoints, that's been sorted
- The delay switch has been added, room is almost a mini-race
- The cube in first room is rounded
- The lorry died, so I replaced it temporarily with a sports car

I'm planning on finding the character Ali made for the logic, but it's unnamed and I can't find it, could you please tell me how to find it? Code is still 2929

Sorry, I was out... You can't assume I'm on the PC all the time,
I'll publish a level called the Beta Lock, It's a 4 digit coded machine which gives you one chance at opening the door. I've been using it on the logic pack, it just means theres no need for all these complex arrangements
Search for Logic Beta Lock on the community moon and copy it to my moon. Place whatever you want me to see behind the dissolve wall and republish it, remember to tell me the name of it!

Ricky, here's some feedback for the level you have made so far...

You're on the right track, and I can see what you are trying to achieve, it's just a tad buggy. I've figured out how to make the tracker a bit more relaible, would you mind publishing it for me to edit, I know I could iron out a few glitches. I find the most reliable way to make a tracker is like this...

1: Create a double fat layer that reaches from one side of the level to the other, put this far above the visible part of the game, i.e the part the player will never see.
2: Create a block (Dynamic) and add a couple of creature wheels or legs...
3: Put a protected brain on it and set it to follow and it's range to about 300
4: Now create what you want the character to see, which they will be followed by, this has to be dynamic
5: Attach an invisible rod between the robot and the object which will follow sackboy
6: If done correctly, the player will see an object which floats and follows them which doesn't have a brain...

If this is confusing, I'll make a demo level

No, it's not confusing at all, I'll fix my beta lock to be your's and I'll also make your version of the tracker. Since I'd prefer to make it the original way, I'll talk to CC or whoever made the first one on the ps3 and ask him for some tips on it. I'll have it out by 23:30 North American eastern time.

Also, anyone know what settings to give the winches on the 3-way control switch? I have everything worked out except that setting. Thanks!

EDIT: I've just published the level and changed the code to 2929 instead of 947 and I got rid of the hidden junk behind lbpc logo. I wan't able to finish the other version that has a brain and follows you for the tracker tonight, so I'll jump on that tommorow. Also added AND switch and made a quick puzzle for the tracker and AND switch.

the level is now called Logic Pack 2.

I'll have your version made as best I can by tommorow morning straunnmcd, Also, I can't make my level copyable or even put in prize bubbles because 2 people got through my sticker lock 2929 and took my best sackboy tracker and AND switch. I'll just rename it and quickly make it copyable for you once everyone finishes the begginer and starts the intermediate. I'll keep working on intermediate switches till then.

Also, I'm good to make any of the begginer switches too if you need them.

Hey guys, I just played the latest version (V.1.15) And I thought that it was a HUGE improvement over what we had before. I loved the look and theme of the things, and the character is looking pretty good! You guys also rounded the edges of things which made it look a lot better. I have now published V.1.20
The differences between this and the previous version:

- There are now mountains on the third layer as extra scenery, they don't do much, just look quite good
- I've added another switch, IDK what it's called, could someone tell me, it's the one where a twoi way switch has tow outcomes, using directional pistons...
- Deleted the sports car, I reckon one of us could come up with something waaay better...
- Music isn't so loud, people can concentrate on the information which will be added later

Anyway, ricky, I'd advise you change your beta lock... It's far to easy to get past if you place all the stickers on the code door, I've published a beta lock, copy it to my moon and stick the prize behind it, then republish!

ok, I just realized how easy it is after two random people broke through it and stole my switches, but no worries, they most likely won't do anything with them. I'll use your beta lock and work on some more switches from intermediate and one or two of the last ones from begginer so we can speed up completion of it. I'll keep my level name same.

Also, about your tracker idea, I'll make a smaller one that's about the size of the one in ps3, your idea would be for the whole level. I'll try to have my level updated by 6-7 hours from the time of this post at the most.

Yeah I haven't heard much either, I'd be happy to help out on the beginner pack as well if you need any. I've also published my updated intermediate pack tools (v.1.5) and they're lookin pretty good. Hi, I haven't been online for a while due to several reasons, like a broken computer and several rowing sessions...
Differences between this and the last version...

- Aesthetics on a couple of areas have been improved
- New demonstration area, more of a machine than a puzzle
- Scoreboard added

By no means am I close to finishing, we still need

- Vehicle for the start
- Be able to see Ali's scientist and decide who's we'll use for the level
- Tutorial based speechbubbles
- Make the level's appearance better
- Appropiate sound effects...

Sounds great, be sure to lock the character behind a beta lock, (I've provided one). Could you please post here the details of the level, this will allow me to find it.
At the moment I am aware of three contenders for the spot as the Logic Tutor (I may chuck in another made by me for good measure)

-- The current Logic Tutor, can be found within the level, I am unsure of who created him...
-- Ali's scientist, I'm having difficulties finding it as unXpectiD hasn't told me the name of the level it's published in
-- lbp is awespme's Mr Smart, (Still yet to see it)

There will be a poll set up on this when I get to see all three characters. I'll post pictures of them (and yes, I can do decent screenshots with my component cable and my sony bravia tv). The picures should be in a higher quality than usually found in the forums...

On another note, I got a PM from ConfusedCartman talking about not carrying the LBPC name on the game, any suggestions for an alternative name?

just say inspired by lbpc's logic pack. Also point out in the description this is made by creators on the forum not the admins. That should give proper credit and no plaguerism. You can also find alis scientist in her character shop, but that level is uncopyable. This is more of a joke, but I've got a military dune buggy with a massive shooting minigun up top, anyone wanna use that for the starting vehicle?

Oh yeah by the way I'm qalmost sure that you can copy levels that just have objects from dlc, so we probably could use the car.

It think what it is is that templates and backgrounds of dlc cannot be copied, but you can use objects and I'm pretty sure materials from dlc and it will still be copyable.2010-08-10 02:30:00

Ok, time to liven up the thread. Oh yeah, oops. Just remembered I accidentaly left my psp in the car which I'm not in.. in this case, one of you guys will have to liven it up. I was going to release an update on the intermediate pack tools that has a much better AND switch, a working 3-way control switch, and a replacement for the paintinator counter.
For the paintinator counter replacement I was thinking we make a replica of it from the ps3 one. We could have you hop on the top and it makes the engine start up sound and then a pwer down or overheat sound and have hidden jets make smoke billow behind it. We'll say it broke since it isn't compatible with psp and to the right have a basic "counter" replace it. I've also made up a logic tool of my own that I think should be included. It's a "pressure sensor". there are 3 versions. One works so that when sackboy gets on it it activates the output, the other activates when pressure is taken off it. (such as a boulder in the way and once it is moved output is triggered). The third will work like an object and sack boy must be on it for the output to trigger. Give me your thoughts below or in a pm on adding this to the begginer or intermediate logic pack. I'll have all three included in the next update of my logic tool pack.

why thank you very much eagerneph! By the way I finnaly figured out the 3-way control switch thanks to the acecreator logic tutorial!
-By the way I've been looking around and I've noticed some other cool logic not in the lbpc logic packs. I think that if we have some extra room in the levels we should add some. Some I've seen that are cool are ace creators cart emitter for minigames and his music box, and then a switch that is a bit similar to the music box concept.

Update: Okay, I'm working on my logicpack update v.1.06. and I'll release it in about 20 min. prior of this posting.

Hello guys, I haven't been online for a while, I've been doing jobs and whatnot to earn enough money to buy a PS3. Unfortuantly, I'm going to be offline for a while, about two weeks while I'm in Scotland on holiday... During that, I will be working on the pack, but not so much. A holiday is somewhere where you can get away from it all.

So im going to be offline from 13/08/10 to 30/08/10. While I'm gone, here's what could be done...
Someone make a new thread and poll to decide what vehicle we are going to use, same for the character. Intermediate could also enter planning stage, but we must not rush things, get a good creator to make it and approach the project in a similar way I have been, i.e. giving updates, keeping it locked behind a codeand setting up[ as many polls as possible to reflect the public's opinion.

Anyway, here's why we're not allowed to use LBPC on the level, confused cartman says that if LBPCentral moderators did not make the level, they cannot take responisbility for it therefore the level could not carry thier name.
Remember, if you want to ask me questions, expect a slow responce (2 weeks).
This is my last post for a while...

Okay, well first off we should use alis scientist hands down. Secondly we really need to finish the begginner pack, its been in dev. for what, a month? Lets throw in the turbo pack corvette and then we could make a basic level with just the logic switches in it and is copyable. that way no one would want to copy and claim as their own.

Struan, could you please put a copyable ver. of the level out so we can work on it when you are gone? If not I guess we'll just work on stuff and have you copy it in.

I've also got most of the switches from intermediate done and I would like to nominate myself as sorf of mangager of the intermediate pack, such as stuan was with the begginer (we'd still work on it as a team, I'd just be the one to piece it together).

Izhuk, anyone from lbpc can work on it with us, just as long as you produce high-quality working things. Anything you want to contribute just put behind struan's beta lock level and notify us here or with pm.

I am impressed! Beta levels are very cool.

Anyway, I have an idea. Can we use building materials from expansion packs to create themes for our factories? I'm not sure some players will copy the full facility just to get this material. But there is another question - will the level containing materials from those packs be copyable to those players who dont have these packs? I dont know...

Do we need threads for vehicle and character? If we do, we need to create it.

Yeah, that's what happened on the PS3. Except on the PS3 you can capture the objects in create mode, on the PSP you can't really do that if you copy the level.2010-08-16 02:05:00

sorry, i thought i answered it. I meant that we will make an awesome legit/epic level uncopyable that can have dlc in it, then well make bland level just with the switches that is copyable, so we can just use the corvette i guess so no thread for the car.

Oh yeah, by the way i managed to breaak my hand, so I cant use my psp very well for a month. I'll just be leavin feedback and ideas for a while.

We also need someone to step up and help w[ork on the project, we havent done anything for nearly week. I need some people to continue struans level where it left off so it fin faster. Ied do it if i could but im also way too busy on top of the broken hand. sorry.

Thank you, dragonember and ricky, for your help. I've published my vehicle inside "Logic beta lock". Its author is izhuk (its me), not struanmcd, because I hadn't access to Internet and I didn't download his level. I want you to estimate my vehicle's appearance, as I know its movement has some problems. I just want to know do you like it (I think it is not high quality as it is test version). Those who will try it in action - if you know how to solve movement's problem, tell me please.

How do you like the model, Ricky?

I think the bigger problem is not slow movement, but this - my vehicle's front wheel goes up for unknown reason for some seconds and then down, causing this slow movement. If you meant right this, sorry.

ps: the logic will be available in prize bubbles that wont be shareable for the sake of piracy, but if the logic has to be sharable for the logic pack just tell me.

As it is written on this site, "The LBPCentral Logic Pack is a three-tiered pack of LittleBigPlanet logic, designed and tested by some of the best Creators LittleBigPlanet has to offer." So no Mm, only members of the LBP Central.

Well, talking about LP (Logic Pack) on PS3 - will we make introduction and tutorials for our LP? If yes, then we must begin to work on them.

cory, if we'll make different vehicles for different levels (I don't know yet), then if other developers of the LP will agree with me, I think you can. The vehicle for Beginner Pack is in development already. It is inside "Logic beta lock". Drive it for a few seconds - you'll see that there are some problems with it's movement. Author of this level is izhuk, not struanmcd.

Anyone who wants to contribute work, help out as a team member, or make a car model for us we would be very thankful for.
We may use more than one car, well have to talk to struan when he gets back from scotland or wherever hes hiding.
Cory, id like to see you make a car and we'll use it if its better than anything we've seen so far.
Everyone who contributes work such as a car or greater will get credit for it. What I mean is if you give a tiny little bit of art we aren't gonna mention you most likely, but something like a few switches, a car, a backround or character well make sure to list you either in the level or on a thread here.
I would also like to point out that I have broken my hand and can't do much on lbp for a while. I also am very busy and will hardly have any time to come on till winter once my hand heals. Sorry.

sorry i was just giving examples. Basically im saying you will get proper credit for anything we use in the level that it worth mentioning.

Izhuk, heres some feedback on the car.
We have one already made like yours that is working better right now in the level, so im gonna say no to this design. If you would like to still make a car that is different go for it. (don't take the following harsh, im just givig u som constructive criticism) We will use your car if you can improve it too. Right now you can ignore the wheel issue. I'm good at making nice wheels that workso just make it wheeless and copyable and I'll add whells to it for you.
We may use your car if you can improve it in the following ways.
1. improve corner editing, use more corners to better round off parts of it
2. make it scaled to sackboy. right now it is much too big to even fit in the level well.
3. spend more time on it to perfect it. Remember, this is the first thing seen in the level and it will make the first impression, so it must look amazing! Good luck and please dont take this harshly, im just trying too help!

ok, you know how a driver fts in the car? well if its sackboy as the driver, then he should fit in a car like a driver would. Right now the cockpit is much to big for his size, so the car should be made s,aller overall so he fits like a normal driver.2010-08-24 13:17:00

Well, I made cockpit a bit smaller, but don't forget that we also need an entrance inside it, so if sackboy still will not fit, I can do nothing. Remember LP on PS3?

I also made it wheelless, but "Logic beta lock" I republished is not copyable yet because of the safety of the vehicle... I'm afraid there can be no password for those who need to copy the level?

Oh, and while you were not leaving feedback on my issue, I started to work on a theme, and it is almost completed. I think I will publish it tomorrow.I used white plastic as based material.

It is for the first logic pack, of course. Well, it appeared that I could publish my theme for LP today, so I did it. The level is called "Logic beta theme". Code is the same. It will be a long running from entrance to facility, but I left much space for vehicle.

PS. Can someone tell me please, is there some way to place a code so you must enter the code before copying the level?

okay, thats not what I said. we have a theme already for the first pack and the actual level is almost ready, except that struan has the only copy and hes gone for now. I'm trying to get the logic pack 2 started, which i've made most of the switches for so far. Ineeded a theme made for it. I'll use your theme if it looks good and if no one else submits one that is better. What is the name of your two levels?

Also to make a lock all you do it made a thin block of dissolve, two sticker switches on it and attaach both sticker outputs to dissolve. Make one switch have no sticker specifierd on it and leave the other blank too. Copy it 3 more times. Make the 2nd switch on them have the sticker switch you want. This lock should dissapear with any sticker places on them, but work if the correct stickers are put on. Make sense?

Okay, just played your theme izhuk. Right now what I like is the building. I'd like to use the building and the entrance for the intermediate pack, but I don't need everything else. could you please make the level copyable so I can copy and snip things out and edit? right now if its alright with you guys, id like to mix your building with dragonember's theme intro to together make the begginning of the intermediate pack.

Dragon, if you read this anytime soon could you make a copyable version of your theme for me to collect? it would be very helpful so i dont have to start from scratch lp2 theme. thanks a lot!

oh, that's not what I said too. I misunderstood you both, if you meant "1 logic pack" for Beginner logic pack.

Ricky, I meant placing code on copyability - if only you friends must copy the level, they can enter the code and do it.

I published copyable versions of "Logic beta theme" and of "Logic beta lock". Of course, there will be someone not from our team who will copy it and use it on his own purposes. So I will delete copyable versions tomorrow. Answer me as soon as you can.

PS. I started to work on Advanced Logic Vault. I will post here when first version will be ready.

Ricky, I republished copyable versions of my theme and beta lock (containing wheelless vehicle, as you asked; see earlier posts for more info). It's a pity that you don't have Turbo! pack (but you mentioned earlier that it would be a good idea to use yellow corvette from this DLC, so I thought that you had it), because White Plastic was much better than White Polystyrene (I replaced first with the second).

About Advanced Pack. I thought there are no volunteers for it, so, as I posted earlier, I decided to work on it myself. So here is first result - Advanced Logic Vault (beta version), v. 1.00. It contains three switches from five: Emitter-based Toggle, Notched Wheel Logic and Rhythmic Output Logic. Randomizer is in development (in truth, I didn't want you wait for long, so, I hope, I will release it in next version.

The only problem to me is Dissolve-free Permanent Switch. I had so many trials and no one succeeded. If someone knows how to make it (I mean: wiring, tweaking, etc.), I'll be glad if you'll leave feedback for this issue.

Hi chaps,

I haven't been on-line for a while, I've been on holiday in the remotest parts of Scotland ...Great. I've now completed the Logic pack, minus the community content (Character for the pack, the vehicle and maybe something else). I haven't developed my own character, as I said from the start, this project will be classed as "Community" therefore everyone gets their say and maybe an input into the level...

Here it is then, the name is "Beginner Logic Pack (V.1.30)", and It has arrived at long last to the Community Moon. This will be the penultimate version (Penultimate being next to last) to give an opportunity for rigorous Beta Testing and to all agree on the character we'll be using, the general feeling is Ali's scientist, I'll set up a poll later today (Hopefully)

The differences from the last version:
- All speech has been created
- Bugs and glitches have been exterminated
- "AND" switch has been re-vamped
- The sign at the beginning says "Inspired by" LBP Central instead of "Created by"
- Opportunity to have your name on the leader board in the real version
- Effects at the end for the leader board
- Completely finished to my knowledge (except removing the Beta Lock)

If you are interested having your name appear on the leader board, first 9 players to leave"Useful" feedbacks and suggestions will be PMed on how to get the score. Also, if you find grammatical and spelling errors within the tutorial, or you were left scratching your head after reading a really confusing bit of info - PLEASE TELL ME

Struanmcd, your level was awesome! I liked it very much. But I have some feedback (I don't know, will it be "Useful" for you, but anyway...):

- Maybe you won't agree with me, but it seems to me that music doesn't suit a bit. Do you have some DLC? If yes, tell me which, and i, maybe, will advise you something. If you don't, I would like to use "Canton Wanton"...

- I published recently "Logic beta lock" and placed here vehicle. You may use it in you level (it's wheelless).

Now that's all (my first impressions). When I will detect something more (if I will), I'll post here.

Hey Struanmcd I played you level and it is great but it needs the pistons to be a bit faster and add some sounds too.
And when the level first talks about the perma switch you are at an angle and you end up moving away from the magic mouth,
and the magnetic key switch for the delay switch is inverted so the door is open when you get there.
But its an awesome level and I can't wait to play the final version.

Ok, Here's some questions answered

kicheninja -- This level is undergoing beta testing at the moment, so it is not available to the public yet, the code to the door is sticker activated, the code being 2929, hope that helps,

blueyu2 -- Great feedback thanks. The delay switch seems to reset itself every four or five times I save the level, I will work on it. You will be given instructions on how to score on the level for great feedback!

Ricky -- When you first appear in your level, the entrance seems to pass the beta lock door, I know that's for the the teleport, but as soon as you enter, you can just do retry and go straight into the level, needs to be fixed matey!

Anyway, to all the other people, there are still 7 places for grabs on the leaderboard!

Well, at last Advanced Logic Vault (beta version), v. 1.15 is released! It contains only one change, but very meaningful to me:

- Randomizer is released! What's more, it works! (I did it!)

Well, Struan, for me it seems that one man should do the same Logic Pack and Logic Vault (as I and Ricky do - Ricky's LV (Logic Vault) is almost completed and his LP (Logic Pack) is in development. My LV is almost complete, and I am going to create Advanced LP as well.).

Ok, LV is copyable level containing logic swithes from the same LP. It is made (by me and Ricky) like LBP Central Ultimate Starter Kit, v. 1.30. You may play my LV (its Advanced) and Ricky's one (which is Intermediate). So no need to wait for PS3.

PS. Can you guys tell me your impressions for my ALV (for Randomizer)? And can somebody tell me the name of Ricky's updated level, please?

Beginner
You may need to relocate the magic mouth that intoduces the perma switch. What happens is that the character slides down and the magic mouth cuts itself off and you can't really read it. The delay switch doesn't really work (it's automatically on). And you should remember to tell the player that they can customize their to suit their needs and that the examples shown are only examples. Edit:LOL the beta is on the Front of the Cool levels page and not to mention it's the biggest patch! xD.

Intermediate
The toggle switch doesn't run smoothly and it should have the same flow as the PS3 logic pack (Puzzle then Explanation). And omg put a theme plz k thnx. And you may want to use a differnt checkpoint for the teleporter.

My Rhythmic Output wasn't going to be very hard. You know, it will be a copyable version.

i think i can answer what Ricky3's logic pack is colled. I renamed it logic pack 2 vault, sorry for the inconvienance. I have a few things to say as well...
1. i have released v. 1.07 and it has all but the dissolve counter, which i forgot to make.

2. I am sorry for all the communication issues. While you were gone i guess i kind of subbed in and took head of it. I'd like to say also that I'm not trying to hog the intermediate pack or anything. I want to work on this with everyone who wants to contribute, but there was no one to help out while you were gone, the thread was basically dead. Anyone who can help out please do as im very busy with basically everything else in my life and dont have much time for this.

3. izhuk i have the turbo pack but for some reason i tried last night to download ur level (theme+car) and i couldnt get either of them, any other dlc you have in beside turbo? if not then i have a glitch in my game (hopefully not).

4. dragonember could you please send me a copy of your theme so i can put the begginning into the intermediate pack?

Oh, I'm very-very sorry about your psp, Ricky, but it is very strange because after publishing this level I changed play/edit modes and no death... Did it happen when you entered edit mode or you did something wrong? And what will be with your psp now?

Emitter-based Toggle was a bit simple - each grabbing of grab switch (or activating something another that is set to one-shot) forces the emitter to emit magnetic key and piston to move. So - emitter first emits the key under itself and then moves, appearing in opposite position. So the magnetic switch turns on/off with one input.

oh yeah izhuk, all your level did was make it so instead of my game normally freezing up and shutting off now a red screen appears, not a big deal, however, your level has been giving me much more issues than a usual level does, such as it now just crashed my psp when i tried to play it. Not sure what the prob is, but im sure ill find it and fix it. Great job again on the expert vault!

Hey guys, just played a level of cory's and found a great switch we should use in the logic pack. In his level the tester he made a logic switch for vehicle wheels and other spinning objects. It makes it so the wheels slowly accelerate to top speed like a car's. I think we should use it in the intermediate pack. I'm releasing my better version of the switch, and it is called somthing like logic acceleration. Just type in logic and it should come up. Advanced Logic Vault is updated to version 1.20!

Including changes:

- Dissolve-free Perma switch is made! (Sorry unXpectiD, but I succeeded in making this switch like in PS3 LP - it looks a bit nicer).

- Some speech bubbles were tweaked: text, that I put in them, will be in final version. If you will find any mistakes (grammatical,
spelling, etc.), please tell me what to do.

If community will think it is ready, then it will be final version (then all I'll have to do is to replace lock), and I will start on Advanced Logic Pack.

I published Logic beta lock with a vehicle. Ricky, did you succeded in downloading and copying my theme? And how you guys look at my vaults?

Ricky, I agree with logic accelerator, but what about switch like that on Monster Truck in Turbo!? Grab of a switch forces piston with magnetic key to extend to switch, and magnetic switch is set to "Speed" and wired to wheels? Try this and tell me result.

Great news everyone! I made Magnet tool and placed it in Advanced Logic Vault (republished under version 1.30).

Other changes:

- Scoreboard added, some speech added too.

Also I republished Beginner Logic Vault (v.1.05) by adding scoreboard there.

Guys, it is good that everyone can do what is needed, but no need to handle these switches to the community before official announcement, because(I think) there will be at least one man not from our team who will copy our copyable levels and (maybe) spread it in the Community moon.

Guys, it is good that everyone can do what is needed, but no need to handle these switches to the community before official announcement, because(I think) there will be at least one man not from our team who will copy our copyable levels and (maybe) spread it in the Community moon.

Well, I think it is time to tell everyone in our team what we have and what we need.

We have:

- Beginner Logic Vault finished (all whats left is to delete dissolve block);

- Advanced Logic Vault finished (the same as for BLV), if no one will find more switches for it;

- Beginner Logic Pack is almost finished (I think, it is time for Struan to refresh his level, what do you think? I hope you Struan got enough feedback);

- Intermediate Logic Vault finished (as Ricky told us);

Here is what we need:

- Intermediate Logic Pack;

- Advanced Logic Pack (I am awaiting for you agreement);

- Introduction is under question (will we make it? If yes, any volunteers (I can try);

For now thats all. Please dont take it harshly, I am just trying to coordinate our work.

PS. I haven't heard Struan for a while, any news about him?

PSS. unXpeciD, thanks for character. I think everyone will approve it.

hey, who is even on our team anyway? I know the head is Struan, and then theres me and Izhuk, dragonember is too busy to help anymore past the begginner theme, and TheNerd is trying to help out when he has time. Is there anyone else besides that?

Oh yeah by the way I've completed the intermediate vault, I'm just working on tidying it up and making it more visually appealing.
I will be renaming it logic pack intermediate vault.
I almost completed the magnet, except for a few bugs, but since izhuk made a finished one before me I'm quitting on it.

Well, I gathered all feedback for your BLP, Struan, to make your work easier. I hope you will use it all, as you earlier commented that all of them were useful.

Here they are:


- Maybe you won't agree with me, but it seems to me that music doesn't suit a bit. I would like you to use "Canton Wanton"...

- I published recently "Logic beta lock" and placed here vehicle. You may use it in you level (it's wheelless).


Your level needs the pistons to be a bit faster and add some sounds too.
And when the level first talks about the perma switch you are at an angle and you end up moving away from the magic mouth,
and the magnetic key switch for the delay switch is inverted so the door is open when you get there.


Beginner
You may need to relocate the magic mouth that intoduces the perma switch. What happens is that the character slides down and the magic mouth cuts itself off and you can't really read it. The delay switch doesn't really work (it's automatically on). And you should remember to tell the player that they can customize their to suit their needs and that the examples shown are only examples.


Well, if you copied my vehicle, you can do everything with it (from changing material to minimize).

i suggest we dont make an intro level since there isnt much of a point in it, and it would just take up more time and further the release of the project, which has already been in planning/ production for months.

I'm also about to release the logic vault v.9, that looks much better. The visuals are not complete yet, but all the tools are.

We don't have any plans to do any sort of official LBPC Logic Pack for the PSP and we don't want to endorse anyone unless we had our hands deep in the design and development process, so I'm afraid I can't lend our name to your project. However, feel free to continue working on it - you don't need the LBPC name to make a good Logic Pack. If it's good, we'll still publicize it.

Well, then we'll need to copy all finished versions to that PSN. Maybe I create this PSN, 'cause ALv and ALP are safe when not copyable yet. as randomizer and magnet seem enough rare to me to simply share them to the Community Moon now. How do you like this idea?

Differences from the Beta Versions:
-- Ali's scientist is now the tutor, (Yes, I know his head is a bit on the large size, I had no choice!)
-- Beta lock has been removed
-- Testers can now use a fly circle, they know who they are. They also know how to get their score.
-- Music is now "The Orb of Dreamers". I figured that I could choose the music preference. The song acts backgroundy, not disturbing the train of thought of the player.
-- All the (known) bugs have been fixed.


I hope you all enjoy the level and find it extremely useful. May it guide you into the complicated world of logic, one step at a time... Remember that there are still some spaces left on the scoreboard for feedbacks. If I have overlooked any feedback, i.e. I haven't sent you a PM, please contact me!

And now time to make part 2!
...Which is in production! Just finished the intermediate logic vault [(v.09) v.1 will be final version and copyable]. Please leave some feedback and any ways I could possibly improve it! I'm also over 60% done with the theme, which is everything before the rooms to show the logic gates.
Also working on a scientist for intermediate. Thinking we could do a mad scientist getting shocked by electricity.. or at least for some of it. I will work on it and release it sometime after the weekend (hopefully, im super busy this week).
Struan, great job on the level, but you should definitely fix the glitches blueyu pointed out.

Update: Hey, I just noticed something. I'm not sure if this happens for all creators, but every level I publish and then mark not copyable, always comes back copyable when i download it from community moon. If my levels are coming out copyable for you guys, them I'm not going to be able to post anything for this project or any other levels for that matter. Please download one of my levels and tell me if it is copyable or not! Please!All levels that you publish show up as copyable for you, the creator, regardless of whether or not they are actually copyable. This is a great feature that allows you to recover levels back to My Moon should you lose your data for some reason.

Hey guys! turns out my car ride masnt as long as planned, but I did manage to get a large portion of the theme done. I'm posting an update on the community moon, please leave feedback on anything you would like added or changed.
Main changes:
-I fixed a bug that made the car at teh beginning of level stop working
-Added a very 'logical' elevator that has a delay, emmited invisi-material to make sure you cant get out for certain amount of time, and it can only go down once (very cool)
-I've added corner editing to all walls that would benefit of it
-Added a basement floor and some blue visuals

The way I made the level is simple,
I don't have the DLC for the I <3 LBP sticker which I used for the level. I also don't have a copy of the LBPCentral logo either... It seems to be un-copyable. What I would do if I were you is to find a LBPCentral Starter Kit. Delete everything in it but the log, and build the level around it. You could ask taffey if he could give you a logo.

Just so you know what I meant was I just need a copyable level by you with the fence you added to the begginning of blp, and the letters inspired by. I've got logo already. Also, did you get the letters from lbp starter kit? If you did how did you change the color? I was not able to tweak or change material.

Oops, sorry. I managed the Jet Pack part fine while testing. If it were any lower, then you would be able to use the jet pack to skip the dialogue...

EDIT: I believe I downloaded and played your level last Saturday before your update.
Ok first of all I assume you want feedback on your opening to the LBPC Logic Pack level so I'll just mumble on about that...
Positives
- Beta Lock works well..just sayin (i realize this won't be in the final version)
- Love the nice and neat background and walls in the "Logic building"
Possible Improvements
- Instead of the car in the beginning that you use, maybe use someone's user made car (I can help make a good looking one)
- It appeared you used all the frames around the elevator but if it's possible maybe add glass doors that shut when you enter and only open at the bottom (you may have to remove your wire fence in front)
- You may have updated this but a couple of the letters in the "Inspired By" did not show up at all (might have been the second 'i' and the 'd'.)

All in all it looks good, I'd love to help just let me know what I can do...I've got loads of homework and tests as well this week and I'll be gone until next Monday but after that I'll be able to help every weekend.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I feel that LBP should definatly come behind your studies. Stay off that PSP until you've caught up with those studies! That's an order.

glad you understand about my study issues, I was doing that stuff a majority of my free time on my trip and didn't get much done on the theme. Only managed to add some third layer stuff to the building front and hills. I was thinking maybe to speed up the process of the level since I'm too busy and take such a long time to make stuff (due to detail freak/perfectionist) maybe anyone who wants to help could copy a tool from my vault, and make a room for it and a puzzle or example of the switch. then release it in a copyable level and I copy it into the actual level instead of me doing it all. It wouldn't have to be perfect, I could edit anything that needs inprovement, even a rough draft basic rooml would do. Just a thought.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Recently after playing kindered projogue I got an idea. Its all up to you guys, but what about making some logos of our psn's and put them around the level? I put my abbreviation logo, R3 in, and if you would all want to just make a logo that isnt too big, and give me a spot youd like it. If you guys dont like the idea we dont have to do it.

I haven't added any switches to the theme yet, I've been busy with school and other stuff more important than videogames. I've gotta catch up with studies (yes, I'm STILL not done) and itll be around 4-5 days till I can get back on psp.
While I'm gone, could everyone who wants to do this make some small logos of your name or abbreviation, and I'll add them into the level. It's kind of a way to add more art and add the names of the creators in a better way.
Eager, if you are still up for it I'll add a copyable version of the level un-named for you to add sticker art.

Kind of like a rough draft room (or complete) That has a place for the scientist and maybe a puzzle built in. This would save a lot of time for me so I don't have to do almost everything.
Izhuk, haven't heard from you on the expert pack, and you still havent fixed your expert pack lock (I think). Please post sometime how you are doing on them. Thanks!

it took awhile, but I'm back! I'll crank out the rest of the logic pack theme during the next few days, and then release it copyable and as an unnamed level.

Hey, I just sent out an update, the differences are that I added Izhuk's logo, and I added a redone version of the ID room from Izhuk's template, and I'vechanged some things around to lower space on the thermometer. It had risen to around 65% and we are barely half way! Right now it is about 50%.
Please check my post above as well.
Izhuk, could you please make a copyable level with your magnet logic in it? I need to compare mine to yours in create to see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!
Too many people know the password, and I would like to keep the level more secret from the community, so I am changing the password next update (soon) and adding the lock to the beggining. I'll send the password to the dev team if they ask me for it.

-Not much added, except beta lock is at the front of the level. I know It has issues with sackboy falling on the tree and not the car, so don't say anything about that, I'll try to come up with something to fix it.
-I tweaked the ID room a little, and I've added some stickers.
-I've got a BUSY week coming up, so won't be able to work on this much for a while.

Hey just so you guys know I have released final draft of the intermediate logic vault. I've tweaked a few things and it is now copyable. I'm gonna post it in my creations to make sure no one copies and claims it, not a big deal if they did, but just sayin...
Also, I'm almost done with scientist for intermediate, I will have it out either today or friday apart of the intermediate theme.
I won't be able to work on this level from thursday to around tuesday. Got a lot of stuff going on.
Please leave some feedback on the scientist once I publish it. I will edit this post once it is out.

Hey, recently I've been getting a whole lot of ideas for new logic that is very useful and would like to share it with the community, so I got an idea. After we release all 3 levels, what if we make a Logic Pack Expansion Level where we post new logic that we didn't have room for or didn't come out in time to be in the original 3, and just regularly update this level with newly invented logic, and other cool logic ideas from other people around the community. We would put stuff like the logic magnet in this. Thanks a lot! I'm going to send you the new level code in a PM, I got tired of other people who visit the site looking at it. I want it to be kept more private form now on.
Here's what I'm going to include so far in the expansion that I have already made:
-Magnetic Logic
-Sackboy-to-Object Control Box
-Logic for Emitters
-Advanced Multiple Choice Quiz Logic that checks answers
-Multiple Function Toggle For One Input Logic Gate (ideal for wheels-to-jets vehicles)
Anything else ANYONE comes up with, or just logic you find around the communtiy can be requested and most likely will be put in.

I invented some logic for emitters to give them more functions, they are in my level: Control Box. Unless you have already made a room for the magnet tool, I don't think it should be included because it is pretty complex compared to the other stuff, and you might not have room for it in the level.2010-10-23 13:46:00

I still think that your randomiser is far too complex.
my one is far simpler and yet only cory1995 has ever wanted it
but anyway, the magnet logic was put into the advanced pack.
the ps3 pack had paintanator logic we dont so we just bulked out the pack with other complex logic.

Unxpectid, yours isn't a randomizer, if you have played the expert pack on ps3 or seen a video, they say that theirs IS a complete randomizer, and most others like yours follow a set pattern, and Izhuk successfully copied the ps3 logic pack one. No hard feelings, but yours isn't completely random. Sorry.
also, does everyone agree with what I said about the expansion?

nothing is completly random with the possible exeption of the actions of the player. i am also yet to see a pattern in any my randomisers. and i have a 24 output randomiser in multiple styles to give different/multiple/randomly occuring outputs.2010-10-27 11:36:00

hey, I know there hasn't been much activity with the thread, but there will soon be a lot of activity (finally) with the level since school is going slower and my football season is over.
Good News: Theme will be finished soon, and TheNerd is back on the team!
Lately I haven't talked to many people who were on the team, and I'm not sure who's still in on it. If you are apart of the team, please post below. Also, anyone who would like to help is welcome, it IS a community project. Just post below and tell or ask what you's like to work on.

hmm, the binary counter is the only piece of logic I haven't tried out yet, I'll work on it after the theme is out and post it in the Logic Pack Expansion. Right now I REALLY need help working on the rooms for the switches after the theme. Right now TheNerd is working (or at least planning, not sure if he's started or not) on the rooms, if you'd like to work on a room for a switch, just ask him what ones are available. The only ones I REALLY want to do is the 3-way control and the sackboy tracker, since they are my favorites. Also, you can either do the puzzles from the ps3 one or any other uniwue puzzle you've thought up or seen. It's up to you. I only have 2 concerns
1. Go by Ace's level efficiency tutorial, becasue the thermo is pretty high already.
2. Please download a level i put out titled: end. It has the specifications for how each room should start and end, that way they can be copied in and placed together easy. Thanks for the help!

OK. I don't mean this mean, but if you are apart of the development team for a recreation of something, don't you think you should be familiar with the thing you are recreating? The 3-way control switch is the thing that allows you to use grab switches or any other to work a 3-way switch. Also, I said I would like to make this and the tracker room's myself, the rest are up to anyone else,

Also, a binary adder is WAY too hard, plus Tiger's eye has released one already that adds 1's. I'll make a counter in my spare time, and since it takes up too much space, I'll release it in the expansion or individually. I also want to make a count down timer. I will make it for 30 seconds. I am fully devoted to intermediate pack right now and won't start these until I'm at least done with theme.

Ahh yes this method works great and I would love to help with a room Ricky if I can get the chance this weekend. I'll PM you for sure if I can (I know I haven't done anythin yet for the pack but I'm good at makin rooms and if you have a lot of switches you need rooms for I can definitly help)

Will do! Oooh, the flying audi has been delayed for awhile cuz of a lotta hw lately but hopefully I'll get it done this weekend before Black Ops is released since that'll be a minor distraction haha.

Izhuk- so you are at a chess camp? Do they have those? Sign me up! ha just kiddin I have no clue how to play chess. It's fine not having much done, I'd rather be done completely with logic pack intermediate before getting pretty into it. Having the gates done is good enough.
UnXpectiD- I came back to the tracker and went through every way possible to try and get rid of the jumpiness, and it just isn't possible. unlike the ps3, pistons and chains in psp go into a certain dominance order, so if you place the non-moving piston in last, it is dominant and the tracker won't move. Basically the short version is stop wasting time becasue it isn't possible on psp.
Also, I had issues making an email for us, so we'll just have to use our own to use magic crater if you guys would still like to.
Also #2, the binary ocunter is goin good, and I'm going to rerelease logic experiments soon with it. Logic experiments will be renamed logic pack expansion once I get it looking more like the other logic levels. Right now it's more like a vault.

Unzpectid, jus so you know I know it only needs one piston, but I prefer 2 or three to make it look cooler, prevent the tracker dynamic piece from tilting and to support it better. I need a logo of your name if you would like to put one in. if you would please send a copyable level to me, and make sure it is not large.
Lastly, I am having many issues with my counter. I am basing it off one from a youtube video that works, but mine is hooked up the same. Could you publish yours so i could compare mine and fix the issues? I would really appreciate it!
The theme will be done soon, I'm going to publish an update pretty soon with TheNerd's logo and the room where you are inroduced to the scientist. I have fixed the dissolve lock so the checkpoint moves instead of you falling down to the car. Anyone started on the rooms yet?

Ok, I just played the...intermediate pack I think? And here's what I thought.

The car the and the intro are great! I don't think that you need to change anything about that. The scientist and scenery also looks fantastic! I think that's all I can really say right now, since with the version I played, there wasn't any logic in the level yet. It's looking great so far!

Eager- I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am still adding some stuff, such as an intro to the scientist, and a bit more. I'll update it once I get TheNerd's logo in.
