Flamelock (easy) and Lightlock (impossible)
Archive: 6 posts
FlamelockMegablob It's a simple lockbox. I require testing of said lockbox. I can't be bothered calculating permutations and/or combinations, so if you could just try and guess the method or answer to the lockbox, I may be able to estimate its effectiveness. Thanks. Also if someone who know permutations and combinations please post. it'd be handy to be able to calculate. Try the combination and/or spoil it by highlighting here: >OPBG< EDIT: A new lockbox level I made. LightlockMegablob Its a lockbox of a physical type with very simple logic. When the correct pieces are in order, the lock opens. Its lock relies on a permuation by defintion (not a combination technically speaking), but for the purpose of keeping things simple, I'll refer to it as a combination lock where order matters. Grab the coloured stone to release a light from the left, and watch the physical mechanism work as you try and guess the combination. Highlight here >Purple, Black, White, Orange, Yellow, Red, Green, Blue< for the combination (there is nothing in this lockbox). By chancing the lock, you have a 1 in 16,777,216 chance of winning If it doesn't work, or if it breaks let me know. If you want to see how the mechanism works, i'll show you. This lockbox has crap-all logic, but a cool mechanism in my opinion. | 2010-07-29 08:11:00 Author: MegaBlob Posts: 291 |
Sounds complicated. I dont exactly ermm, know permutations and calculations i dont think.. but I'll play this level when my bro gets off the ps3. about 30 min. So if you could play my level in the mean time that would be awesome.. its called, "The Nightmare Factory: Episode 1: Light". yeah okay I tried for awhile and still cant bust it, it doesnt seem that complicated to make actually.. but still I like the idea. I rated it 4 stars. | 2010-07-29 08:35:00 Author: drei Posts: 158 |
There's going to be hundreds of combinations. It seems effective! I don't know how you get it other than by sitting there and trying them for hours. | 2010-07-29 10:14:00 Author: chimpskylark Posts: 335 |
I looked some math up. Its a combination (unordered, not a permuatation. A permuation is where order matters). Here's the formula for a combination where you know r and there is no repetition in the combination: n! -------- r!(n-r)! Where n is the total number of options and r is the number of options required in the combination. In my Lockbox n is 7 because there are 7 candles to choose from. But r, the number of candles you must choose, is unknown to you (but not me). I've figured out what you're chances are exactly. Is actually pretty low. But when you have the right combination, what do you do? I'm not telling, but its easy guess what the confirmation switch is. I've put a key to a Work-In-Progress in the lockbox, so if you want to see it, try the lockbox. Try the combination or spoil it by highlighting here: >OPBG< | 2010-07-29 14:14:00 Author: MegaBlob Posts: 291 |
Yeah bud, I don't think you will have to worry about anyone really breaking this. I messed with it for a while. Especially with the patience of most gamers and especially if your lock box isn't on the cool pages, which of course it won't. | 2010-07-29 15:28:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |
BUMP! reason for bumping - new level added to this thread instead of making a new one. - SEE FIRST POST | 2010-07-31 05:44:00 Author: MegaBlob Posts: 291 |
