Metal gear!?!?!

Archive: 21 posts

Right i dunno about you guys but do you reckon a FULLY WORKING metal gear could be done? If so itd be an awesome reward for completing a level!! As soon as i get the game im gonna get designing away on hundreds of elaborate tanks, not just metal gears!

Also im interested in how high you could build, anyone know? for example how about skyscrapers!!? how many stories you reckon you could go?

I heard you can build up REALLY REALLY REALLY high =D The three "REALLY"s sound promising don't they? xD

As for the METAL GEAR?! That's a great idea! I really wanted to work on it in the beta, but I guess I wasn't lucky enough to get to try it out! I would love to help you make it...if you want help that is

Also, there is a brilliant level if you're interested in looking at making other military vehlicles. CoD6: Sackboys at war. The tank was particularly impressive, but there was also a SCUD missile and a jeep that were worth checking out.2008-10-15 13:12:00

I can't comprehend (posh word eh?) how hard this would be, although apparently, according to OPM, if you think 'I'll never be able to make that...' 'Oh wait! I CAN!!!!' Partyyyyy!

Well it doesn't say the party bit.

Dont worry i know itd be incredibly difficult but ive made pneumatic arms and stuff in real life and im pretty confident about doing it!

biggest trouble in it would be balance, ray has a tail sorta thing that could in the worst case scenario, trail along the ground to give balance...but that would'nt look as good!!

God i think too much lol

then in the end i could plant some detonators and blow the **** outta it!

I've made a walking REX, but the problem is that it doesn't last too long. Motor bolts, even at tightness 10, have an issue holding everything in place. Unless you have perfect conditions, the bolts just start loosening and everything falls apart. I'm sure there's a better way of doing it, but I haven't had much luck.2008-10-18 21:11:00

I'll have to check out the working Ray when the servers come back online. I just tried making a timberwolf again, darn thing fell over, and then to pieces. D'oh!2008-10-18 21:42:00

The Beta Rex was great, But It Was Too Small, and boring, because it was slower than the normal and had no weapons2008-10-26 23:18:00

Yeah, it was. I still couldn't get it to walk properly for long distances as the motor bolts were insufficient in staying together. I'm thinking of a way to build a proper bipedal walking mechanism right now so that it not only looks cool, but it will function 100% of the time.
