Kill switch

A simple (and somewhat vicious) switch I think could be useful. LBP2 seems to be all about untangling the complicated mess creating has become these days. A suggest a switch that, when triggered, kills all players.

Simple as. No need to put gas on pistons or whatever, The ultimate timer.

Would also be a great way to create faux hazards.

Don't stop the princess being dragged away? - You die.
Don't stop the clock reaching zero? - You die
Don't stop the screen becoming pitch black? - You die.

And so on...

A kill switch would be so effective... I hate wiring up logic to a piston connected to gas just so I can get sackboy to perish. A kill switch would be perfect! Heart! hahaha Kidding... Kidding... Silly H4H'ers...2010-07-29 00:47:00

If you don't want to end the whole level you could use the end switch. Does the same, but no one dies.
Or you could temporarily lethalize the floor... > : )

I'm pretty sure there is a kill switch in LBP2.
Say you're in a car and a projectile hits it, you can wire a collision switch to a destroy/kill switch to blow up the car and kill the player.

You shouldn't ask for that. There are a lot of people who will get angry when you ask for hearts especially if you say you will heart them back. It was a huge problem. If you want to get hearted make good levels and post them in the level showcase. Also that part of the post was a bit off topic.

Pretty good idea but I think something like that will be possible in the e3 videos if you watch that bumper cars or death match levels you see a timer that at the end killed them and brought them to the exit. In my opinion i think it is set to kill you and turn on the scoreboard, so I think that you can make it kill you and turn on another checkpoint.

But yea if this is a issue,why not turn kill-switch in to remove switch, and sackboy will just pop and be removed

In my personal opinion, they should remove create mode completely to solve the griefing levels problem. I can't tell you the number of levels I play that just has sackboy being killed over and over again. Making a level like that is totally abusing the system. We shouldn't give people the option to create if there's a chance they'll abuse it!

Very good idea!

Maybe also make it only kill a speciffic player/ specific number of players?

And as with the announced destroy switch for objects (not entirely sure if its the official name) you should be able to customize the way in which the sackpeople will die - e.g exploding, electrified, drowning etc.

Though i don't know how it would make the game feel... "fun together"...

And though there's that text below this text, I WOULD LOVE being able to snatch single players out of the game cleanly and swiftly.

Umm isn't create selling point of the game? i mean every community has it's bad seeds doesn't it? If they removed create mode just because someone post something you don't like......Oh frack I've just been trolled!

Yeah... I'd like some way to choose how Sackboy/bot dies , for example in the L4D2 thing i'm helping with I'd love to make it so the survivors die by collapsing/or the spike animation..

Completely getting rid of create mode destroys a lot of the game! You know the thing called Play Create Share.

Without Create you have nothing to Share.
Without Share there is less to Play.
With less play the games stops being entertainng.

There are people everywhere who try to abuse everything they can. Those people can't be stopped. There will always be people like that. You shouldn't get rid off things just because certain people try to abuse it. Learn to deal with it by ignoring it. Otherwise the people who use things like create mode properly can still use it and those who choose to abuse it will appear less because all they want is attention.

Without create mode great creators such as amazingflyingpoo wouldn't be able to show their talent.

Great idea! I has always hated killing the player in the methods that we are forced to do it if we want to kill them, but I never considered how nice it would be to have a simple tool to do it in a clean and efficient way. I'd love it if LBP2 had a switch like this!
