Backing up Little Big Planet data to a USB?

Archive: 8 posts

I've been using my cousin's PS3 for a while. It has all my LBP Profile Data and levels, and his PS3 was the one I bought my MGS DLC on. In a few weeks, I am getting my own PS3. What I want to know is how will I transfer my profile over? Levels, stickers, custom levels, costumes, scores and completion. But what I want to backup most is my DLC. How would I go about doing that?

Also, if I bought a downloadble game, how would I transfer that?

DLC and such are account-binded, meaning only that account may download them.
Now if its your account where you bought all that you simply-redownload it in your account from your downloaded history on account mannagement in the XMB.

I'd suggest using the Data Transfer Utility (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/3_15/settings/transferutility.html). Make sure you create an LBP profile backup before you start. Then all you need to do is activate the account on the new PS3, import from the profile backup, and you're done.

You may also wish to deactivate and/or delete your account from the old PS3 when you're done, but check the new PS3 works before doing this.

I don't think it's possible to delete a PSN account, but you wouldn't want to anyway, as you'll be using the same PSN account on the new PS3. I meant the login account, although it might suffice just to disassociate the PSN account from the old login account. You only need to avoid the possibility of logging in to PSN from both PS3s at the same time, as one account will get kicked off PSN.

^Perhaps editing or deleting the post may work vbetter as the message is still there, kinda encouraging it...

As for decasosiating an account froma PS3, you do it in the "Account management" menu.
