The Charmed Exodus
Here's how the story goes...
You have just finished working in the mines and get in the elevator to return to the surface but your elevator fails and plummet down the elevator shaft to an unexplored mine. Naturally you start to explore it as you travel through the mine you find a mystical gem enchanted with the power of fire. You use the power withheld in the gem to cross many obstacles such as lava pools and (an erupting volcano(Not finished yet). Later on in the level(the part I haven't done yet)you will face a Lava/Rock Golem which you have to destroy with your new found powers.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to say considering to what extent this level is unfinished. There's not much for me to comment on in the first place. Still, here are some thoughts.

Is the gas-death teleport really necessary? couldn't the cave just link directly to the pit?

I like the visuals in the cave itself, but the bit just before the cave looked quite bland.

maybe you could have a switch emit the explosive rather than having it emit automatically.

Overall, I gave it :star::star::star: considering that it's unfinished.

I think, based on the F4F you gave back to the person above, your feedback was not really very helpful. When you replied to the person above, you could have said what you said in a much more constructive way, rather then just saying "I didn't like it". You could have said something like: "I think I needs more work - here is x and y which you can do to improve it". Giving unconstructive feedback to others doesn't exactly help your quest for feedback - if you can understand what I'm saying.

Maybe you should try finishing your level first, before posting it here, as often it is hard to base a sound opinion on something that is unfinished. After you complete each section of your level, you should ask yourself "Have I done the best I can? If I was a stranger, and I was playing this, what would I like to see." Have a look around at other people's levels, and look at the different things which you like, which you could adopt into your level - and I don't mean by copying, but more just by finding your own tastes for levels, and trying to implement that into your own.

And finally, attitude. You may want to rephrase the way you say things - such as the post above: "Need more feedback". Doesn't exactly sound friendly, and as mentioned in the other thread that you made, you may need to give in order to receive. So take advantage of LBPC's F4F system - play some of the levels in the showcase that are offering F4F, and leave constructive feedback, and then ask them to return the favour. I'm sure you will find success in this - or at least more than going about it they way you are now. And remember, you need to be open to both negative and positive feedback.

I will try and play your level and leave some feedback here - but I am quite busy at the moment. But if I get time, I will post here again.

Just tried your level, but there wasn't much there. Just a glass slide and some lava. Maybe you published an wrong version?
Good luck finishing your level.

If its not unfinished, you can't help it but I'm being honest:
Good:
+Atmosphere
Bad:
-Visuals: they were plain and boring in the most parts
-Gas teleport thing was invain
-Short length
Critic: Even that I said more bad than good I still have to say that it was completely worth 3 stars. There were no stucks (or I didn't run into them) and there were no annoying places that could have ruined the level. It's playable level that was not bad in any parts.
My F4F is the Cellar.

1. I think my level is broken because one I was playing it with friends and parts of the level was disappeared that explains pickled-punk's comment as I was testing the parts that had disappeared to see if I had fixed them.

2. And secondly FreeAim did you play my level like a week ago because the gas teleport is long gone and I have a proper introduction now.

3. Also in reply to what Standby250 said I have to agree my feedback was very un-constructive to that guy but I was just desperate to get feedback, sorry. I made a mistake by making the post saying need more feedback as I didn't have any explanation about my level I decided to put it in a new post without realising I could edit my original post and seeing as there is no way to delete posts I just wrote that.

Please bear in mind this is the first full-scale level I've EVER made.

Is that judging from the pictures or did you actually play it? If people actually like it I will continue it but for the moment I've kinda given up on it as no one seems to think its any good.2010-08-01 17:38:00
