The Grotto cannot be missed! It's so stunningly odd. You've done it again with your visuals, and it's so marvelous that Wunderkammer would continue in the Grotto. You even put us to work in there! The Bone Harp is so beautiful and has such a haunting sound. Bring your friends because the 4 player area is so much fun. The Ghost Ship is also fun and chaotic and that figurehead is really creepy (albeit beautiful). But my favorite area (no surprise there) is the mausoleum. It has to be seen to be believed.

The Lighthouse is such a treat too. It's well worth paying attention to your instructions there because the reward at the top is very much worth the work you give us to do once again.

I'm so glad Wunderkammer continues. It's such a great gift to us all from such a great creator (and great friend).

Awesome stuff! A moody, atmospheric level which (like the previous Wunderkammers) carries the inimitable charm and visual style of the enigmatic Acccumulation None. It's as though somebody salvaged the shipwrecked mind of a demented mariner, then placed it in a museum for all to marvel at. Highly recommended to anybody who's bored of generic Mm style platforming and looking for something strange, beautiful and unique to play instead.

I loved this, because like all the Wunderkammers, it has a great atmosphere and every section is imaginative.

I didn't know FlyingHaggis 3d glitched things for this! Do you think He will do that for me?

Very cool level

I always like the way your levels encourage exploration, curiosity and wonder. I especially loved the design of the bones and the ship in the bottle. Clever gameplay with the water wheel and I couldn't stop staring at the gorgeous gates you set up using the decorations. That Flamingo fountain is hysterical and beautiful all at the same time too.

Really enjoyed the slower pace and relaxed atmosphere in this one - a nice break from the frenzy I'm used to. lol

5 stars & hearted.

Great level, but I didn't like the rock scenery. It looked like it just had random shapes cut out of it rather than being corner edited.

Why did you use someone elses boat though? You're awesome at making stuff!

Anyways, 4 stars and heart!

The lighthouse level was great. Btw, how were you supposed to put the bulbs into the lift? It told me they all broke D: I'd maybe make a small scoreboard come up on a piston in the boat because it'd be cool to be able to finish the level properly(you can return to pod but still) and maybe change the "failure" message to something like "oops, I failed, time to pack up and go home"(obviously not as awful as that though ;D)

I just played the Wunderkammer levels, and they are mind boggling. They have a unique style that makes me want to run screaming back to my pod, while at the same time urging me to see what's next. Breathtaking stuff.

So much about the Grotto is absolute genius, I hardly know where to begin. The Bone Harp is incredible. The Mausoleum is too. I don't even know how the rowing mechanism on the boat works, but it's a really great touch to an already staggering, five star worthy level.

Awesome level Accu!! I've been seeing this develop for quite awhile and so glad to finally get a chance to play this. Wonderful!! Such an amazing collection of odd and amazing events strung together by a fun little row boat.

I need to try the lighthouse next and report back! Thanks so much for doing these!

5 stars and a heart!

Thanks so much everyone, such great comments and kind words - Made me smile - and from such superb creators too! very honored.

PaddyJ, thanks very much for your feedback. Its ironic bout the rocks cos I spent more hours than I'd care to mention obsessivley corner editing them, even following the patterns of the material, to try and get it looking natural - it got quite nerdy! I guess thats the nature of nature, its difiicult to mimic! But, and I dont want this to sound like a cop out, a Grotto is a man made cave, so I had always intended it too look 'fake' on some levels. Any way, interesting point!
Also, initially I had hand drawn all the shapes and had loads of intricate cutouts, and then JWW kindly pointed out that this was the main reason my therm was through the roof in a level Id only just started work on!

As for using TheCountessZ's ship - with it being a ship in a bottle, I kind of felt it made more sense to adapt an existing one. Id played her level Patricks Tale, which is a really great level in an historical setting, and I thought it would be amusing if mine was a model version of something like this, that was already out there. Gives it a kind of ironic provenance to the model, or at least thats what I was aiming for - I guess it was kind of a conceptual private joke (which is the starting point for a lot of my stuff)

As for the lighthouse... I guess I need to up the hints - I thought it was maybe too obvious so toned them down a little bit but some people are getting it and some not. I thought a lot about the scoreboard and finishing the level formally, but as there are almost no point bubbles, or at least none as a reward for the work, getting to the scoreboard at the top is the only real reward (apart from getting the lighthouse workin) so I felt that no score board for failure was more in keeping with the task, your name on the board is your reward. I Thought about that last 'fail' message too, at one point it was going to be something like 'well I guess we'll need to order some new bulbs... id take a seat if I were you...' but I thought people might take me literally and wait there indefinitely! Also Im really cautious about how much I guide the player, especially in a 'puzzle' level.
But again thanks for mentioning it, its somethign im still canvassing opinion about so your input is very valuable to me.

Played the Lighthouse today. Quite fun and ingenious use of oil, wrenches and even a hammer! lol Too funny, but a great little LBP diversion from the norm. Even a new use for chair cushions!

Remarkable stuff!

Ungreth... lol ty, to you I do a good deal. I am toying with the idea of making all the main items in the series available at the very end - via a store room acccessible through a combo of stickers available throughout the levels.... still a thought at the mo.... again canvassing opinion on that...

Chimp.. thanks very much - but more?? you get the side level too and you want more? - wha dyou want from me blood?
Just kiddin, thats music to me ears - there is indeed more on the way - at least one more full level and at least two more linked side levels.... and maybe access to the vaults....hmmm....

I wouldn't give anything away as a prize if I were you AN. These objects should remain enigmatic curios to be admired from afar.

Besides, cool pages would soon be over run by WHALEBONE HARP SURVIVAL WITH REAL WATER!!! type levels.

You can't do that! These are one of a kind items. Your only option is to have replicas manufactured, and that would only be cost effective if have them produced in huge quantities. Please rethink this idea.

Chimp.. thanks very much - but more?? you get the side level too and you want more? - wha dyou want from me blood?

Now I may be able to help out in that department.

I agree with Ungreth and the Countess.. keep those beauties to yourself!! Da Vinci didn't hand out a Mona Lisa to everybody! Exclusivity only ups it's value.

I played through this today and it was beautifully done. I need to play it again as I had to rush, but was there an actual puzzle with that bone harp? If so, we couldn't figure it out - as in couldn't figure out the order of tones, but I'm more than delighted to go back and have another crack and leave you some more detailed feedback Cheers, man. Beautiful job. I would've given it 5 hearts but someone else was hosting Will attend to that oversight asap.

Edit - Ooo, and welcome to Cool Levels!!

I don't think there is a puzzle to it, but pretty wild to hear it with 4 players go at it at the same time.

Good level. The puzzles are a lot of fun and the pirate ship in a bottle part is a blast. For some reason this level feels much shorter than parts 1 and 2, but it's still a lot of fun and the visuals are amazing.2010-07-30 22:45:00

thanks for the great comments and feedback.

Ungreth and CountessZ, your probably right... nice idea in theory tho.

PBS - good point as it really does have reel waterz!

BabyDoll, JWWs right, it isnt a puzzle, more a musical diversion. Theres no right or wrong way, just supposed to have fun creating different rythyms and tonal patterns.

Justin, yeh this one is spatially shorter than the others in that there is less exploring in a way, its a one direction journey this time- you do pretty much travel the entire availlable length of the level tho. The side level to this one (the section that proved too big to be included in the main level) The Lighthouse, did expand to being a fairly full level in its own - thats some compensation perhaps.
Another reason is the obvious therm battle - the high detail comes at a price!
Oh and did you play the 4 player section yet? this one has a whole x4 mini game hidden under the grotto floor accessed via the fountain.

thanks for playing everyone!

Well, I returned and played through properly (with 4 players) and I just LOVED it. Your cut outs were spot on and the visuals in general (as everyone else has already said... sorry), atmospheric, haunting and immense in feel. The bone harp was great with 4 players. I enjoy a good tone poem now and then and our compositions were absolutely NOT good, but we had fun doing it. That x4 section is one of the few in LBP where you honest-to-goodness need 4 players. That fountain was gorgeous and wonderfully conceived and executed. The mini-game was a hoot (bubblez!!) and your clam character was terrific. I like the dispensing of the bubbles too.. very clever.

The ship was just magificent. The Countess is a clever lady. I loved your masthead change! I couldn't work out if there was a pattern to the ghosts so I continually died while hooning round the deck like a madwoman after bubblez, but it didn't matter. Perfect use of the infinite checkpoint right there. The bottle was unexpected (I admit, I didn't see the bottle for what it was on my first visit). Lovely quirky touch.

The lighthouse side level was just... genius. In fact ScoutsBoo/Maxplay375 said "this guy's a genius" and we all agreed I was blown away by the way you altered the perspective on the stairs to make them curve! And your framed artworks... so much to goggle at, but the gameplay was also fun and a challenge at first until we slapped our foreheads and realised what we needed to do. All worth it for the end result at the top of the lighthouse. How many hours it took you to tweak that.. I don't want to know

Anyhow, 5 stars and a heart. Loved it all Thanks so much.

p.S. Actually, should mention one thing...I I kept swimming to the bottom of the water to make sure I wasn't missing anything and there wasn't even so much as a bubble for my trouble .. jk (just suck it up, BD)

Hey Man! I've really wanted to post here but I haven't been playing much... i completed these levels in multiplayer but i was kinda being dragged and pushed and dont really feel that is the 'proper' way to experience your far-out and fantastical levels.... I find they reward much more genuinely upon self-discovery... anyway, cant wait to get back to them, and thank you so much for making my visits to the craftuniverse just that much more worthwhile and entertaining. I think it may be cool if you made stuff available at the end... Afterall, it would only probably be true fans who'd go through the trouble and effort of collecting alll the needed stickers, however, the day one of your inventions/creations turned up in a mind-numbbing survival would be a very sad day for LBP indeed!

An outstanding series that's only getting better... and zwollie intoduced me to your first one... so you got that goin for ya too! keep up the incredible work.

BabyDoll - thanks so much for such a thoughtfull and considered comment, realy glad you enjoyed it!
No pattern to the ghosts - the undead are unruly you know! If you want them bubbles you takes your chances!
I actually got lucky with the Lighthouse effect, it worked pretty much as I hoped 1st time - sometimes its like that isnt it - but as with other such 'flukes' im way too afraid now to go back and tweak at all as I know itd probably just go completely haywire - hope nothing glitches with it!
Funny enough though that was about the only part of that level that did go smoothly - the rest of it sure munched up them hours! its often the really annoying 'simple' things that take the time isnt it?! something just not doing what its supposed to do for no good obvious reason!

Oh and yeh I know exactly what you mean and I really did want to put something exciting on the grotto floor, but the decorations where the thing straining the therm in this one so had to remove all but the essential ones - and as the therms at breaking point I cant add any more bubbles so didnt want to suggest there might be anything worth diving for down there - except for the x4 minigame section - I do hate not to reward curiosity tho! : (

Thanks CountessZ - just got back to see the spotlight, very pleased about that!

And thanks Gravel for your thoughtful words, likewise dude! Also nice to know im part of the Zwollie legacy too in some small way!
