Running out of space! Help!!!

Archive: 5 posts

I'm working on my patapon level, and I'm about 6/8 full on the thermometer. I'm like freaking out because I still have a lot to make, is there anything I can do to lower the space used?2010-07-26 01:35:00

Well to fix this change all materials to only one and then when you've completed your level, change 'em back. This works since one material is less taxing than having a lot. If you still don't have enough thermo, than just make 2 levels.2010-07-26 01:44:00

Hidy Ho! Here's a few ideas for you. :-)

Get rid of as many corners as you can. I'm not sayin to make your level look bad, but if you can find corners off screen that aren't necessary or corners that were left but don't affect how something looks then deleting them can get you some thermo back.

Another idea is to make sure that the settings on all of your emitters are correct (don't allow them to emit a bunch of objects at the same time.

Also, be careful with complex objects. If you went crazy with complex objects then you might just have to get rid of a few, because a single complex object could take up a significant amount of thermo (2%-5%).

hey man those two r exactly right. changing to all one material really does work, esp w/ cardboard. and lowering the poly count(amount of sides) works great too! another thing is community objects. they take up quite a bit so try not to use too many community objects2010-07-26 04:59:00

Try to avoid using the small detailed shapes, they take up quite a bit of thermo. Also, if you have any emmiters trowing out loads of objects, try to reduce the amount emmited at once. A bubble emmitor on full pelt with only two bubbles at a time is as effective as one with 10 at a time, the only difference. One uses a lot less thermo.2010-07-26 21:40:00
