Community Project - LBPC Chessboard 4

I didnt save it as JPEG!! why won't you guys beleive me?..X( I saved it as PNG..and as I was uploading it, it said the file was PNG... I dont know why or how it keeps becoming JPEG... :{2010-08-10 22:44:00

I just upload it to an lbpc album, then copy the image URL and paste it in my post.. it's the same method i've been using even since before this jpeg crap started happening.. The only thing that's changed is the program i'm using.. Microsoft Paint instead of SumoPaint 2.0( because It's impossible to make pixel art look actually pixel-ish in Sumo -_-) ..But even though I specifically selected PNG before saving, I guess the program change is the likely cause....or maybe me repeatedly pointing guns at banshee's characters(sorry about that btw xD) is giving me bad karma but either way, 'I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!' *jumps out window*		2010-08-10 23:08:00

No offense NinjaFerret, but I'm really getting annoyed at your edits. They always come out JPG, and furthermore you complain about people editing your tiles, when they're just trying to merge things better. For example, you're sky merging needed work, so I fixed that along with the handgun.

Honestly, don't complain about other people's edits, because I saw you edit my C4 and the cloud below it. I had to go back and add those again, and I'm probably going to have to edit the cloud, seeing that you just left it cut-off with no merging what-so-ever.		2010-08-11 00:42:00

The reason I'm editing is because as they are jpeg the quality takes a nose dive and the tiles are blurry, very hard to tell the correct pixel placement because boundaries and colours merge. . Putting whatever you made next to the crisp png version wouldn't match. Whatever you done with the first one, do it again because whatever changed they keep coming out jpeg. And I said it before I'll say it again. When you get back to saving correctly your free to re-edit those squares. It's easy to tell if it's not saved right, I look at the tile that says Napero7 down the bottom. The colour looks drained in comparison to it's usual brightness. I think the sky is just one of those things, we all share it so if a patch looks off I think it's fair for people to have a go at tidying it up in the interest of making it look as good as it can.

We could just ignore your tiles completely every time they come out as jpeg if that's what you want.		2010-08-11 01:04:00

I use Sumopaint 2.0
And always select for it to be saved as PNG, so i'm not sure how it becomes jpeg...
Is it possible that the site I upload it to affects the file?

Well I just made a test tile in Sumopaint 2.0 and placed it on top of the other one, didn't change anything so it was a png. I saved to computer. Wherever your uploading must be altering, I use photobucket. The only thing is sumo appears to smooths and blurs all lines, so your tile will never have the pixel look. I think you might have better luck with mspaint or something simple.		2010-10-30 07:58:00

Just save the Pic to your computer, edit it in MS Paint (or whatever), Save the file as PNG, upload it to in images hosting site (such as photobucket, flicker, or even here at LBPC) and then post the finished picture here.

Not sure, maybe we should leave a little while in between these things. Interest from contributors seems to dwindle near the end or at least it did after the last chessboard went straight into this(the start is always more fun though). It's taken about 3 and half months to finish this one vs the days chessboard 3 took. Next one could be a Christmas themed one at the start of December, obviously with mayhem :kz:		2010-11-10 15:53:00

If people want another one feel free to make one, I think something for Christmas would motivate and be interesting. Sure, if you want to make another normal one, then you can.

But you don't have to celebrate Christmas to join in. You could hate Christmas and draw Santa falling into a volcano, or something not Christmas related at all, like a slime monster.
