I'm in a bit of a fix :(

Archive: 14 posts

Hi everyone, It's not often that I will publicly ask for help on something, but it's a problem nonetheless which I can't seem to figure out or solve. The problem is - my dad. With LittleBigPlanet, the way to get impressive levels is the DLC isn't it. For that you need to put woney into the wallet in the Playstation store.

I need to convince my dad that the Playstation Store is perfectly safe, the problem is that I don't have my own credit card yet and my dad won't let me use the Playstation Store until he's convinced it's safe. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could prove beyond doubt it is safe (saying loads of people use it without problems doesn't seem to cut it with him).

If I'm allowed to get DLC, I would be able to explore so many new areas into building new themes instead of being stuck to the plain old boring ones (which can bring excitement from time to time).

Any help guys?

well i have been using playstation store for years. it is as safe as heck.i have spent over fifte dollars. it is an entirely automated system. meaning nobody will keep your card number and use it. but the ke to making good levels isn't the dlc cause most of them mdon't even have materials just stickers.and i don't use many stickers. and the turbo pack has some glitches. but the key to creating is imkagination ,time, and knowlage of corner editor. hope that convinced hiom2010-07-24 22:40:00

Hey There! I have some potentially good news! You don't exactly need a credit card to buy things on playstation network. Just check your local store and you should be able to buy playstation network cards (similar to microsoft points cards, if you have ever bought them). You don't need a credit card for those, you can buy them with cash, debit, or credit. The cards vary in amount, 20 to 50 and possibly others. They are available at many stores (locally I can buy them at gamestop, wal mart, cvs pharmacy, savemart and 7-11). I know exactly how it is to have those problems. My father is paranoid about his cards, he believes that as soon as he uses the internet his identity will be stolen. Being that I am young I had no credit, so I'd offer him cash in order to use his card. Every time it would be a no, so I am trying to build up my credit slowly. I really hope that helps.2010-07-24 23:14:00

Is it safe? Ever see the Marathon Man?

Seriously, I have used my credit card on the playstation store since 06, and I never had a problem.

It is safe.

Ah CR beat me to it, there are indeed PSN cards that will give you credit, there's the $20 and $50 ones.
The problem is that mnay countries stil don't sell them.

If you happen to be in those, then Credit Cards are your only solution.
Now the PSN store is perfectly safe, as far as i'm aware.
I must tell you tho, there is a $1.50 charge to activate a credit card to your PSN account, but after that, there's no other "extra charges" as far as i know.

Hope that helps!

Trust me, it's safe.

I've personally spent over $200 there, so it's fine. You can always delete the credit card information after you bought the item(s) you wish too. But seriously, this is Playstation we're talking about. It's owned by Sony. That's a pretty major company. If it was unsafe, I very much doubt it would have much success. So, heck yeah, it's safe!

I actually didn't have to pay that, so either it's only on PS3, or it's a recent thing. Are you sure they charger $1.50???

I use it all time time, it's safe. And if you don't want to put in your credit card go to any best buy, target, wal-mart, or anything where you can buy Playstation Network gift cards!2010-07-25 01:06:00

You need to ask a mod to do it for you.
