Let's Play...

Archive: 15 posts

Who here watches Let's Plays? I was surprised how entertaining watching others play videogames could be. That is, games that have a progression. I hate watching people play competitive online games.

My favorite Let's Player is a guy named 666theheartless666 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhZntG2ncCQ), primarily for his cool British accent. Other than that, I like to watch l0rdvega, though he seems to have gone on some sort of hiatus and doesn't seem to like communicating with viewers at all.

So, what's a Let's Play? Well, people record themselves playing a game and provide commentary. It might not sound that entertaining but I like it. There are tons of 'em all over Youtube.

Anyone else like to watch these? Or has someone here even made their own?

I watch SSohPKC and Helloween25. SSoh does all the big releases, and Helloween does horror games.

I've actually been wanting to do a lets play, and I can do one, I just don't know a good game to do or have the time to do it. I may do one for LBP2 :o

Lyrax's lets play of Shadow of the Colossus. Not "entertaining" but one of the most insightful, intelligent and wonderful game commentaries I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.

I too liked lOrd vega's oblivion LP. I'm currently following Keiri's lets play of Silent Hill 1. Once Valve fixes the extreme graphics bugs with Half Life 2 that came with the Orange Box update I plan to try my hand at an LP of that.
