Universal acclaim, oh yeah

The user score is so terrible! I can only assume fanboys with too much free time and a bee in their bonnet are doing this. It's very silly.

All 360 fanboys that want this game for themselves. They are idiots, and don't know what a good game is.2008-10-14 11:05:00

...aaaaaand that isn't a fanboyish comment??

Not wanting to turn this into a flame war, lets get this back on track.

LBP is great. I loved the beta, can't wait for the full game. Anticipated games on Metacritic often get a low score at first as all the people who don't want the game all flood to insult it. Then you get loads of people who rate a game higher than it deserves just because they like it. Let's be honest, the user reviews aren't a good guide to how good a game is. Cult games will often get a high rating because only the people who have heard of the game will bother rating it.

95% is a great score on Meta. I can see it going down a little further before the dust settles. More magazines are going to review it 9/10 than stick their neck on the line with a 10/10. Personally, I don't know what I'd score it. I haven't played the full game yet, I don't know how good the main story mode is, but I anticipate that it will be good.

Yeah I didn't want to start any ps3 vs 360 pointlessness, was just pointing out the lameness of it all >_<

The score will probably settle at 92/93-ish at the end. I'm not one who really cares about scores other then if it gets higher more people may give it a chance. Then more levels for the community

Of course, I hope the game sells well too. I'm really hoping that the beta was a sign of things to come as far as the levels on offer were concerned, all we need is a better search...

I'm also thinking about 91%-93% in the end. Still, it's a great start.

Honestly, don't bother yourself with user scores with ANY games on metacritic. Happens on all sides.
Just look at the normal Critic score >_>
But 'till now, the scores are amazing x_x I can't wait until release.

Yeah, user scores are sad because the majority of decent raters is not in a good ratio with the lame ones. The Dark Knight on IMDB is a prime example. Thousands upon thousands rated it 10 because of the whole Heath Ledger thing and wanting it to exceed The Godfather. There was even a campaign going around the internet trying to get people to rate it 10, which is just sad. I never trust user ratings any more.2008-10-14 15:45:00

Exactly. Most users are easily swayed anyway.A critic you can usually, and I really do mean usually, trust to stay impartial, as if they start being biased for or against something in particular, they lose a lot of their credibility.2008-10-14 15:59:00

Actually, don't look at the scores at all. Read the text part of the reviews to see what the game is about.

I score Mona Lisa a 85. Lol at the Van Gogh fanboys tearing down the user rating on it!

Sounds silly, doesn't it? They're just paintings, how could you give a numeric score for them? Well, games aren't much different. They're just as complex, at least nowdays they are.
