User Titles

First off, this is really very minor and really just a niggle. But it's a fairly quick fix, (I've been a forum administrator and I've done it, so I know how it works) so if Cartman or lbp have any spare time they're not working on something more important, then the following applies. I'm referring to those names that you get under your name, which change as your post count increases. For example, under mine is Junior Sack Boy. Now, under certain circumstances, such as profile upgrades, these default titles can be overridden by a custom title, separate from the post count. The problem with the current system is that it...really doesn't progress well. From Fuzz Ball, Thread, to Patch of Cloth, it's fine, if a little steep, and then getting to Sack is a bit more of a stretch. And then suddenly from Sack, gained at 100 posts, to Junior Sack Boy, at 400 posts, there's this rather large dead zone. The problem with this is that with the experience system and profile upgrades, soon after Junior Sack Boy it's easy enough to get an upgrade and then be able to customize it to your heart's content. ...Which means that the user titles are rather wasted. Thus, I propose that the post count requirements for all the user titles get reorganized, to increase the flow between the titles, and overall make them more dynamic. Probably doesn't need any new user titles, just some better assignment of them. | 2008-10-14 03:48:00 Author: Mark D. Stroyer Posts: 632 |
So you're saying that the intervals are funky? | 2008-10-14 03:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
Well, that sounds fine and dandy to me. | 2008-10-14 03:55:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
So you're saying that the intervals are funky? Yeah, pretty much. Too spaced out and uneven to reflect what they were supposed to, and at a certain point they simply become irrelevant, so it's best to focus on the period at which they're still relevant. | 2008-10-14 04:02:00 Author: Mark D. I also don't like the fact down you go down to level 1 if lets say you get an Elite Profile Upgrade, I think your points should be the only thing that go down, not your level But, it's not that big of a deal, if it's easy to fix or already been discussed about and not possible, I can deal | 2008-10-14 04:22:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |

He said that he couldn't change it because that was just how the person made it - remember? | 2008-10-14 04:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
So you're saying that the intervals are funky? No, he is saying they are fine how they are. Jeez | 2008-10-14 04:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'll fix this, Mark. EDIT: Here's the new setup: Lint: 0 Thread: 25 Fuzz Ball: 50 Patch of Cloth: 75 Sack: 150 Junior Sack Boy: 300 Sack Boy: 500 Sackboy Private: 1000 Sackboy Sargeant: 2500 Sackboy Lieutenant: 5000 I also don't like the fact down you go down to level 1 if lets say you get an Elite Profile Upgrade, I think your points should be the only thing that go down, not your level But, it's not that big of a deal, if it's easy to fix or already been discussed about and not possible, I can deal Guess what? The next release of vbExperience(or LittleBigExperience, as you may know it) allows that option. We're waiting for it to come out of beta, then we'll upgrade. | 2008-10-14 05:04:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=1764 No, you misread my comment, I'm talking about, for example, I'm level 22 with 1500 points, I decide to buy the Gold Trophy ( 1500 ) I go back down to 0 points, my level should stay at 22, but instead it goes down to 1, but it doesn't matter anymore CC says they're going to have that fixed. | 2008-10-14 05:29:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |

Lol, lbp was always secretive about the ranks, and you just gave them all away !! anyhoo, is this [new experience feature] retroactive aswell? lastly, I think custom titles should be given out less sparingly now that many people have them. | 2008-10-14 10:00:00 Author: Maltay Posts: 2073 |
