Operation Freakout

Operation FreakoutWORLD_THREAT
Sackperson #75925 has made himself an enemy of the state. "Operation Freakout" has been initiated.

This level is single player only! It will not function correctly if played by multiple players.

I am aware that the level is a little on the short side and ends abruptly. This was because of thermometer space.

Also, the pictures of the level in this post slightly misrepresent the level due to some lights not showing, some stickers not showing and the effects of colour correction not being displayed.

It wasn't bad, but it suffers from something for which I will make up a name right here on the spot, creators' advantage syndrome. It's too hard, but you don't realize it because you've spent the last however many days testing it, so you've gotten really good at it. I feel like the level is supposed to be fast paced and intense, but it ends up just being frustrating. I think it could be fixed to some degree by making the houses at the start smaller, and adding more checkpoints.

Visually it was alright, I personally would have made use of the window decorations from the Marvel pack.

Gave it three stars, is definitely able to be improved.

its a good level m8, but it does have flaws. bubbles on the roof would be better glued and maybe a reduction in the pitch of them. at the last checkpoint before the black skyscrapers, move the explosion a tad to the left (its a nightmare to jump on). the first skyscraper, make a bit smaller (again, a nightmare to jump on) and maybe make the balcony a bit longer on the skyscraper that falls over. apart from those lil flaws its a good level2010-07-23 12:29:00

Ok, my thoughts:

I liked many little points about your level such as the decorated point bubs, and use of the 3d glitch for your custom background. For things to improve
i'd say polish up the jumps a little bit as a few were really hard to make for the player. Also perhaps place respawn points a bit more frequently, so if the player dies on a hard jump he doesn't have to backtrack as much.

Cool level. My recommendations to improve the level would be to work on the checkpoint placement. If there's an area where the player can die, a checkpoint nearby is a good idea. It can be frustrating to spawn a far distance back only to have to run a long way to get back in the action. Also, the houses can be tricky to jump from and the point bubbles on them fall down which makes it hard to get them. Overall cool level with a good amount of action.2010-07-23 21:11:00

That was a fun & entertaining level. No major issues to report. A couple jumps were a tad tricky & you could probably use more checkpoints. There was a section which could have used more buildings in the back layers, if you still have any thermo.

I enjoyed it & gave it 4 stars & uploaded a picture of myself covered in blood, haha..

I've updated the level.

The point bubbles on the houses are now glued

the segment between the houses and the fire escape has been redone

There are more checkpoints.

There's a limit to how much I can update due to thermometer space.

OK first I would like to thank you for reviewing my level. This level I found very fun at the start until the guy with the gun. The reason is because when I got on that lift the base of it glitched so I could not stand on it. It therefore made it impossible for me to finish the level. I was going to three star it but that nuclear explosion part I thought was very good and I gave you four stars.

Positives:
Your opening animation was really nice. I liked your use of the 3D glitch and lighting effects to give the feeling of being on a city roof top. I kind of felt like spider man climbing up the balconies between those buildings, nice idea. You did a nice job in animating the building being blown up in the background layers prior to the camera lens cut scene. Loved the trash cans full of prize bubbles, rofl. Great job on the overpass! I really liked the window washer elevator as well. Your interlude scenes were all great ideas

Suggestions:
This level would be brilliant if your building models had a little more polish. You have some truly great ideas, and you have a very good command of LBP's lighting and sound effects. If you continue to work on improving your modeling skills, you're going to be a great creator.

I would have normally given this level 3 stars, but I think your visual effects, music and sound effects earned you an extra star, so overall I gave you :star::star::star::star: and tagged it "Satisfying". Keep up your visual/sound ideas and build on that by improving your terrain modeling!!

Okay I played your level and i really liked it, it kinda reminded me of an old level of mine but on a much larger scale. The best parts being: the intro, the background layer glitch use (that really impressed me-especially the highway), some of the gameplay elements including; riding a shirt /jumping of rooftops and runing through skyscrappers. I also really loved the skyscrapper falling in the background i assume that took a couple trys before it succeded. Also the sounds were a nice touch and well done.

The only cons being: I got stuck in a trashcan and i had to bounce around the bench area with it on my head until finally getting it off by running into the building... LOL. And because you used the background layer glitch most of it was pretty plain and didnt have alot of detail. But i figured that gave it more of a clean and futuristic type look which worked. I know stickering that kind of 100 layer cement is hard.

Overall it was a good and creative level, I gave it four stars
